"Can you please tell me whats going on!" Norman shouted

"I can't stay here." You spoke as you threw you belongings into a bag."

"Where are you going to go?"

"I don't know, I have always wanted to just run away, even as a kid, I was just too scared. I have lost everything Norm, and you're all that's left, but you have a life. You have a job and a family, you wife is pregnant with your second child. I am just your childhood best friend."

"That doesn't mean that you shouldn't stay."

"Norman, I am not where I want to be, I don't want to be a girl who sits behind a desk for a living, I don't want to be some girl that survived off her famous best friends earnings. I want to travel through Africa, and sell my photos for thousands of dollars. I want to show people that I can make something of myself, and I can't do it here."

"Why are you leaving now, why all of a sudden." He asked as I lifted my book off the bed and placed it by the door.

"I broke up with my boyfriend fro being an ass hole, but in reality, her was the only thing holding me back."

"That's all your taking with you?" He asked looking at my bag.

"It's all I need."

I opened up the front door to see a new world filled with opportunity, I couldn't help but just smile to myself.

"Y/N please think this through."

"I have done nothing but think, now it's time to do."

I stood in the rain looking at Norman, my best friend, the love of my life, another reason I needed to leave. Norman was married with a family, and I was heart broken, and my heart only shattered more the longer I looked at him.

I wasn't lying to him, just not telling him the whole truth. He was part of the reason I was leaving, not forever, but for a long time. I needed to find someone, find myself.

"If you need anything."

"I know. This isn't going to be the last time you see me, please stop acting like it is."

"When will you be back then?"

"I don't know."

"Then this could be the last time, please don't go Y/N"

"I have to."

"You don't."

"I really do, for so many reasons, some you don't know, some you won't understand."

"Try me."

"Goodbye Norman."

I turned and walked away from everything, disappearing into the dark, cold, raining night. Leaving Norman behind, leaving my life behind, and not looking back.
