Father Figure (Daryl) [74]
160K ❤️❤️
Please DM Me requests. I have a hard time coming up with ideas for these anymore ... I still love Daryl and of course Norman, it's just harder to find ideas.

A face full, a mouth full. Dirt stuck to her wet cheeks and damp chest. The earth had found itself within the bullet hole located in her left shoulder. It stuck to the blood but caught within the wound, a problem that was only going to cause more problems.
Her trembling body refused to stand, her pounding heart was beating so hard that it felt like she was trying to support a rock within her chest. The tears falling from her ocean eyes were trying to water the flowers that were trapped within the soil.
She thought this world was different. People were still cruel, even more so than before, but within the walls? She thought this was family, she thought she was safe here. Especially with an adult, especially since she was only a kid.
She rolled over to try and calm herself down, looking down the street to make sure Pete hadn't followed her out of the house. A few moments had passed, and she was able to collect herself enough to stand.
Her shirt was torn, her face bruised, her knees cut, and her arm was the new home for a bullet from a Caliber handgun.
The moment she could stand, she began to run. Running to the safest place she knew. She pushed the doors open as she sobbed, pain, fear, and relief that she was able to escape.
Glenn walked around the corner and caught the young girl before she could crash into the wooden floor. He didn't ask questions right away. He just held her and let her cry until she stopped.
"What happened, Sweetheart?"
"I, I needed to drop some supplies off for all the houses on our street. I went - I went to Pete's."
All they needed was a name, her injuries, she ripped clothes, and trembling told them the rest of the story. She turned around to see Rick and Daryl standing behind her.
"We will take care of this," Rick said in a fatherly type of way.
She nodded, that's all she could physically do.
Glenn stood up and followed Rick out fo the house. Daryl sat in front of her. He took her small, frail hands.
"You aight kid?" He whispered
She shrugged, and he nodded, then followed after Rick and Glenn the moment Michonne and Maggie had walked in.
Maybe they would kill Pete, perhaps they would beat him, or throw him out. She was only 15, but she wasn't stupid, she knew it would be more than a conversation.
Maggie and Michonne were pleasant company, but an awful support system. She felt as if she had to hold her breath. For some reason, Glenn and Daryl were the opposite. Maggie and Michonne were important people to her, neither of them had ever given her a reason yo hold her breath. Yet, she found herself holding in her feelings, repressing her emotions, and hardly talking when they were around. Perhaps they were intimidating.
They were two incredibly strong women, neither of them ever being afraid, never needing help from any man. She was the opposite. Maybe she felt threatened by them.
She never wanted to be the damsel in distress even when she watched movies as a child, she hated the damsel, yet here she was. She needed Glenn and Daryl, especially Daryl, maybe that's why she felt more comfortable because she was safe.
She could feel Michonne and Maggie's support, she could see their lips moving as they talked to her. Yet, she didn't feel supported, she could hear what they were saying, no matter how hard she tried.
The minutes felt like hours, even though she knew that Glenn and Daryl wouldn't belong, they would get their message across and then come back to sit with her, especially Daryl.
Daryl was like an uncle to her, not quite a dad, she hadn't known him long enough for him to feel like a father figure. She frankly didn't know enough about him either, and he probably didn't know enough about her. A distant uncle type, still someone that would come to her rescue, maybe even each other mosy important person, but not very close.
Maybe he was more like a brother, a half brother that she had just discovered. They argued about dumb things, like siblings. Her breaking rules, him catching her, him trying to keep her safe, and she seeing it as controlling. Yeah, maybe more of a brother than an uncle or a father.
They came back in after only being gone for 23 minutes. She couldn't help but watch the clock.
They peered around the corner, and her first reaction was to give a slight smile, one that was hardly noticed.
Glenn sat in the doorway. Michonne and Maggie left, and Daryl came and sat in front of her.
"You're gonna be okay." He said
She nodded and grabbed hold of Daryl. He hugged her back. She felt like she could breathe again like things were going to be okay. These walls were safe, this was home, this was a family. Pete was just the expection. His actions could never ruin her view on Alexandria, on the girls or Glenn. Pete could never destroy her connection with Daryl, their relationship would only grow. Perhaps, strong enough for her to finally have the father figure she had longed for.
I hope you all liked it - I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas as well. See you in 2020!!! <3
