All of us had just finished a lesson, regardless of the fact that it was already after an attack. Right after Koro-sensei announced that it was break, I noticed that Terasaka and his little group went up to Nagisa. I watched them carefully out of the corner of my eye, keeping my posture relaxed so that I wouldn't seem like I was watching them. How did I know to do this? That's for another time.
I eyed them as they went outside. I scarfed down my lunch, then snuck outside into the sunny area. I saw a head of light blue hair disappear behind the corner and crept after it, recognizing it as Nagisa. It didn't take too long before my back was against the wall, while I eavesdropped on the group of bullies and my friend.
"Got it? Just walk up to him, and we'll detonate it from there. It's a sure fire way to get him killed."
Detonate? Kill? That sounds suspicious. I peeked my head around the corner and saw them grinning like idiots at Nagisa, who was putting a grenade around his neck. Suicide bombing!?! I saw one of them about to turn around, so I shot back to my safe corner. I held my breath.
"What is it?"
"Nothing."
I sighed in relief as I crept back to the classroom, sliding back into my seat unnoticeably. Koro-sensei glanced at me before looking back at the rest of the class. I glanced out the window a couple of seats away from me, noticing that the group was coming back. My heart started racing as I saw the thread around Nagisa's neck. Was he actually doing it? No! My friend can't get blown up for others!
I quickly got up, and walked to the door to intercept Nagisa. I passed by Terasaka and his little group, and stopped in front of him.
"Nagisa, you don't have to do this." I stated quietly. He looked at me in confusion.
"What are you talking about?" he questioned.
"That's a nice necklace I see there. I wonder what the pendant is." I said nonchalantly. His eyes widened a little.
"Oh. Well Terasaka-san is going to kill me if I don't, you know that." Nagisa replied. I sighed.
"I know, but...I'll do it for you." I said. He looked at me, shocked.
"No." he replied quickly.
"Well you're not going to detonate it." I denied.
"Rin, I'm going to do it." Nagisa said firmly. I stood in front of him, and put my hands on my hips.
"Not if I'm still in your way." I said. Nagisa sighed.
"What if I promise I won't get hurt?" he inquired. I paused. It was physically impossible for him to not get hurt when he did this, but there was the tiny, minuscule chance that Koro-sensei might try and save him. From my fifth and sixth observation, he seems very compassionate about teaching us and killing him.
"I...I suppose so." I stuttered out. Nagisa smiled as he walked forward, passing me by. I turned around, and walked back to my seat. I hope he lives.
~*~
"Here you go Koro-sensei." I heard Nagisa say as he handed in his assignment. I watched Terasaka signal something, which made Nagisa lean forward. No!
"Bye Koro-sensei." Nagisa stated as the grenade showed itself. Terasaka pressed a button, and the grenade blew up. I shut my eyes and looked away, not wanting to see my friend dead. I kept them shut.
"Who planned this?" I heard a familiar voice ask. I looked up, and saw that Koro-sensei was...black? Well, from observations three and four, the color of his face changes with his mood. So he's...angry? Maybe.
"It was Terasaka-kun and the rest of you, wasn't it?" he questioned us threateningly. I saw that Nagisa was safe - much to my temporary relief - and went back to the angry Koro-sensei. He put Nagisa down on the teachers desk, before disappearing for what seemed like a nanosecond before appearing back with plates. Wait, those are name plates! Mine's on there too!
"If you all do anything like that again, I will kill your families." he said. Everyone looked terrified like they pooped their pants as I started sweating. That's right, he said he wouldn't kill us, but what about everyone else? The government? Why hasn't he made that one strategic move yet?
"I'm glad that everyone understands. Now, Nagisa-kun." Koro-sensei addressed, as he started to fade back to yellow.
"The way you tried to commence it was astounding. As for you Tsubaki-chan," he continued, turning to me. I could feel everyone's glares coming at me.
"I'm glad you tried to stop Nagisa-kun. From what I can tell, you're quite the pacifist, a trait you don't find in many now-a-days." Koro-sensei said. I could feel their glares lessen as I sighed.
"Now, to continue with the poems! Kayano-san, it's your turn!"
Kayano stood up, and started reciting her assignment. I sighed. At least I hadn't been hated today by anyone.
~*~
I sighed for the umpteenth time today as I started chopping vegetables. I was a part-time cook at one of those ikemen places because their full-time cook usually takes a break, and checks on her kids for a good two hours or so.
"Isogai-san! Orders are ready!" I called. Isogai appeared a second later, and smiled slightly.
"So, you're a pacifist Tsubaki-san?" he questioned. I guess they all must be curious about me by now with what Koro-sensei announced.
"You could say that. Why is that so shocking?" I inquired, leaning on the counter.
"It's just that I had expected everyone to be gunning for him." he replied, curiosity reflected in his golden eyes. Isogai and I somewhat got along, but we still kept away from each other.
"Sorry, but I wouldn't even kill Terasaka if it came down to it." I chuckled.
"You're a good person Tsubaki-san. You seem completely different from what the rumors say." Isogai commented as he took the dish.
"Excuse me?" I asked. He looked at me with confusion.
"Don't you know? The one where you're a mafia member that kicks cats for joy?" Isogai questioned me. I looked at him, horrified at the rumor.
"Me? A mafia member? And cats are one of my favorite animals! What the heck!?!" I exclaimed hysterically. He laughed a little.
"I know, I find it hard to believe now that I know you a little bit more." Isogai stated. I sighed, and shooed him away. I heard him laugh a bit more before walking away. I checked the clock, and saw that there were ten more minutes of my shift left. I guess I could message my friend.
I quickly opened up my phone, and went to Kik. I quickly messaged my friend who had the username 'Bestofall'.
Hey!
Just one simple message to my unknown friend. No more than a second later, my phone beeped. I opened it up and read:
Hey. How was work today?
I smiled, and quickly typed up a reply.
It was good! Oh, something happened yesterday by the way! It was really weird!
I sent it before texting my uncle that I was done at work. He texted me back saying that he would come pick me up in 15 minutes, so I decided to go change into my normal clothes for the time being. I darted off to the changing room right as my phone went off.
What happened?
'One sec. Brb.' I texted. The minute I reached the changing room, I stripped. I threw open my locker, and changed in less than 5 minutes.
Alright, I'm back. So basically, I ran into Asano Gakushuu when I went home, but he said facts about me like he knew me personally. It was really weird because he didn't even tell me why he came up to me!
I sighed as I shut my locker. Really though, why did he stop me in the street?
'Maybe it's because he has a plan for you?' I received, right when I thought about why. But even then, wouldn't he have used someone else to execute his plan flawlessly?
What could he want from me? I'm in the 'End Class'. There's no reason to use someone like me for one of his plans.
I walked out of the ikemen place, calling out a quick 'goodbye!' before leaving.
But what if that plan is to get you to like him?
I almost busted out laughing at the reply. Asano Gakushuu? Liking me? That's ridiculous!
Sorry to burst your bubble, but I'm sure that Asano Gakushuu doesn't like me! I mean, I'm in the 'End Class'! I'm not pretty either, I'm not rich, and there's not one redeeming quality about me! Even if that were the case, what could he possibly like about me? Plus, nobody likes otakus like me, so...
I rapidly typed it as I waited in front of the store. I sent it, but I didn't get a reply back this time. I wonder why...
After a minute or two, my uncle finally came. I smiled and greeted him, as I climbed into the shotgun seat. He was grinning as he started to drive again.
"Guess what kiddo?" my uncle started off. I looked at him. His light green eyes were shining with delight as he watched the road ahead of me.
"You get to be moved up to the A-Class!"
My jaw dropped at the peculiar news. H-How? I mean, I'm still failing English! As I kept on gawking, my uncle laughed in joy. No matter what, he supported me. He was my lone supporter other than my unknown friend. A smile was about to creep onto my face, but then I felt a sinking feeling.
Asano Gakushuu was acting weirdly, and now this? This is just suspicious!
"Uncle, I don't think that I should accept that offer." I told him. His smile fell slightly as he glanced over at me.
"Why not? If you do take it, then you get to see your parents again!"
I felt a pang of disgust hit me. My parents. Parents that love their child shouldn't abandon them because of grades. They shouldn't hit their child for getting a B on a quiz. They shouldn't scream that they should have never been born.
"I don't need to see them," I stated harshly. "I've lasted fine without them so far, and I can go on without them and their insults."
He looked over at me solemnly. We both never expected my parents to act so uncaring and horrible. My uncle had always been under the impression that they were loving and kind, that I was lying when I said that they were saying these things and hitting me. It was only when the abandoned me that he understood the truth of the matter.
"Well, why do you think you shouldn't go?" he questioned me. I quickly explained to him what happened, and how it was really suspicious. After my explanation of the situation, he nodded.
"I see. In this case, you probably shouldn't Rin. That principal is despicable in attitude. I can only imagine what his son is like." he advised. I sighed in relief. At least he wouldn't force me to do anything I didn't want to. I suddenly felt my phone vibrate. I checked it and found a text from my friend.
You're not stupid. Don't say that again. And there are plenty of things to like about you! You're kind, funny, up-beat, you never give up, the list could go on! And who cares if you're an otaku? Otakus are awesome! Plus, do riches really matter? How rich you are doesn't determine your personality, which is great in my opinion. And you're a pacifist, which means that you don't fight unreasonably (or at all actually, but my point still stands).
There are plenty of things that he could like about you. Plus, aren't your grades A's and B's? Except for English, you've ranted to me about that before. Intelligence isn't only measured in grades.
So I think there are plenty of things he could like about you.
I blushed at the message. That was definitely new.
Uh, thanks. I just don't think that's necessarily true.
My uncle looked over at me when I sent the message.
"Are you blushing Tsubaki-chan?"
"U-Uncle!"
