Dessed in red, she stood in front of them as they smiled. It was as if they were celebrating her misery. Her eyes kholed black and lips tinted pink, she stared back at them. Her heart beating fast, her hand shaking as they nervously played with their fingers. Her eyes searching for some sympathy in the eyes of the people she called her family.

Her eyes flashed to her father who wore a smirk on his face, taking in the bruised parts of her body the seeped through his daughter's dress. His face was wrinkled because of old age and black hairs of his beard had turned gray. His eyes that matched hers, she searched for love beneath the hateful gaze.

They all knew something that see did not, and that made her anxious about what was to come.

Turning around, facing the stairs, Hoorain took her first shaky step. The trail of dress followed behind her. Her small hands gripped the railing of the staircase as she made her way up. With every step she lost a piece of who she was. Her body shook as she took timid steps. The paintings on the walls stared down at her with sympathy as she walked by them. Her footsteps echoed the corridor as she took a step towards her room, their room.

Her heart beat faster than it had ever done before. She closed her eyes as her shaky hand turned the knob of one of the double door that led her into the room she had spent the last four years of her life in. All her good, all her bad memories rested in. She bit her bottom lip as she walked further into the room, her ears trying to ignore the sounds coming from her right. Her gaze fell towards the door of the bathroom that was attached to the room. A steam of heat flowed out through the small crack at the bottom of the door.

With tears welled up in her eyes, her heart breaking into pieces, she made her way to the king-sized bed in the room. The white sheets were crunched up and the brown blanket was thrown on to the floor, unlike the way she had left it before heading to the party. Her heart broke with every moan and every groan that filled the room, whispering into her ear, choking her with its sounds.

Her eyes gazed at the green dress on the floor, the one her sister had worn recently. The white shirt her husband had worn was flung aside and laid on the couch in their room. Her eyes shut closed as she blocked in her tears but failed miserably. They flowed from her closed eyes as betrayal swept into her heart. Quiet sobs rocked through her body as the strings of her heart slowly snapped.

"Hoorain?" Her eyes shot open as her broken eyes found the eyes of the man she called hers. Her brown eyes searching his blue ones. "What are you doing in here?" He questioned. All Hoorain did was stare at him, at her husband, Asad, as the tiny hands of her sister wrapped around his waist.

"Can't you tell her to leave, Bebe?" Alina's face came into view as her baby sister stared at her with hurt. "we're busy" Alina smirked at Hoorain's face as she watched every piece within her break. The sobs that were quiet were now loudly escaping her lips. Her body shook with her cries as betrayal took her into its arms. "Why?" Her small voice spoke, filled with emotions, filled with hurt.

Asad took a step towards her, every step felt heavy as her cries put more burden on his shoulders. This wasn't how she was supposed to find out about this. She was supposed to be at the party. He wrapped his naked arms around her, bringing her closer to his bare chest that dripped with water.

From afar, Alina watched on as her lover took his wife into his arms. Envy and jealousy erupted in her like a storm as she glared at the hugging pair.

"How can you do this to me?" She cried. Her hands pushing him away, which caused him to stumble. If it were any other day, Hoorain would have been horrified and afraid of what she had done, but as every part of her broke, she didn't care. Her swollen red eyes, streaming with tears, watched fury fill her husband's blue eyes, but she didn't care.

Her gaze fell on her sister who stood afar watching her break down. Hoorain marched up to her sister. Her brown eyes stared into the identical ones of Alina. Hoorain raised her left hand that was soon clutched into a painful grip. Pain rushed up her arms as her eyes snapped to her husband. She stared up at him with angry, hurt filled eyes. She went to open her mouth to speak, but a loud slap echoing the room cut her off. Hoorain's frail body fell to ground. Her hand gripped her stinging cheek as her gaze fell onto the carpet. The sounds of her painful sobs filled the room.

A cry of agony left her mouth as her hijab along with her hair was fisted into a painful grip. She was pulled up by her husband, who dragged her crying body out of the room. She gripped her left wrist as he pulled her down the stairs, her legs hitting the edge of stairs causing blood from the wounds from last night to flow down her thighs. He then threw her fragile body was then in front of their families. Her gaze remains on the carpet as cries ripped through her body.

"What have you done!?" Came the voice of her mother, Hoorain's wet face met the face of her mother, who for the first time spoke for her. Her weak body crawled to her mother, as she cried in the comfort of her warmth. "What have you done to my daughter?" Zulaykha Sayd spoke as she hesitantly caressed Hoorain's head. Her daughter was ripped away from her by her husband, who held her youngest child's scarf in his painful grip as Hoorain cried out in pain.

Hoorain screamed as he delivered another slap onto her cheek. She stared into the eyes of her father, finding nothing but hatred in them, but still she cried out to him.

"Please help me, papa." She cried, her body shaking with every cry. "help me, please help me." She fell onto her knees as Mahmoud let her go. "Help me," she begged, "set me free." She buried her face into the ground by his feet as she begged for him to help her. To help his daughter. She prayed to Allah that her brother, Umair, would appear out of nowhere and save her.

She cried as she remembered her husband and father kicked her brother bruised body out of the house when he had tried to save her. That was 2 years ago.

A hand gripped her chin, forcing her to look into the eyes of the man she fell in love with. From a distance she can hear the cries of her mother and the cheers of her mother-in-law, Samiaa Kareem. "You want to be set free?" His voice was dark. Gone was the comfort she sought upstairs in their room. Asad picked her up from her arms and dragged her to the front of the house, throwing her like a rag.

"I'll set you free." Asad's blue eyes fell onto the shaking body of his wife. Her dress that looked beautiful on her white body, was now torn from being caught onto the railing of the stairs from when he dragged her down the stairs. He watched as she cried in pain, as she cried in betrayal. Her betrayed eyes started into his as tears streamed down her face.

"I set you free." He walked closer to her, gripping her chin. He spoke that word that broke every part there was living within Hoorain, "I divorce you" his voice was loud and clear. Hoorain's body froze as she stared up at her husband with broken eyes. Her tears had stopped flowing as she stayed frozen on the ground.

"Get out of my house" her mother-in-law snarled. Everyone watched on as she got up from the floor, only to fall back. Zulaykha stepped forward to help her daughter but was held back by her husband. She got up again and turned her body away from her family as she gripped the wall. She took a shaky step towards the door. Stopping at the table that was placed next to the front door, Hoorain quietly slipped off her engagement and wedding ring off her finger, placing this on the table. Her trembling hand reached on to the doorknob and opening the door she walked out.

Her destination was clear as she walked on the sidewalk of the empty road. Her heart was completely broken and ripped apart. The torn trail of her red dress followed behind her in misery. Hoorain held onto her scarf as she walked, afraid it'll fly away in the windy air. Her eyes searched the road in the darkness. She walked till she reached the empty roads that led to the bridge. The moon shines down at her, promising her light in the night's darkness. The clouds rained, and they cried in pain with her shattered soul.

Each step she took felt heavy as she reached the edge of the bridge. She looked down at the raging water beneath her, the waves crashing into one another her swollen eyes, puffy and red, continued to pour salty water down her redden cheeks as she cried in pain and betrayal.

The fingers of her right hand caressed the bruised wrist of her left. Her once pale body was now battered in black, and blue was covered beneath her red dress.

Her eyes closed, and she took a deep breath as winter wind blew the scarf that was lightly wrapped around her hair away. Her body shook in tears of cold air.

Her swollen and bleeding feet balanced on the railing of the bridge. The will to live had left her heart.

Jump!

A voice command of her.

Jump! What do you have to live for?

Her eyes closed as she took another step, almost loosing her balance, she held on tight.

Jump! No one ever loved you!

She took a deep breath. One more step, it will all be over. All her goals, her dreams that were now torn apart, will wash away with her drowning body.

Jump!
