Chapter 6
--Previously--
We carried on talking about the incident for the rest of the day, and honestly, it made me want to talk to Zim about it. But I just couldn't be bothered, so I just ignored that thought in the end.
Once the bell rang, I smiled, running out of the school. I thought about my new friend and I couldn't wait to hang out with her!

Alex and I spent the whole day after school together, which I enjoyed a lot. She was a lot like me, we had the same interests. Though, she was better at me with some things and vise versa. We walked back to my house after school and I introduced her to my dad. He, being a nice neighbour, offered her dinner, which she politely declined as she was already having food at her house.
At the end of the day, I walked her home and we said our goodbyes.
The following morning, upon walking to school, I saw that quite a few houses were already nicely decorated for halloween. It just brought more excitement, and I hoped to spend some time with my dad for halloween.
"That house looks cool!" Said Dib in admiration. The house was wrapped in what looked like string, to give out the illusion of cobwebs. And the front porch had a lantern with a Well-carved pumpkin next to it. The garden was covered in leaves and big fake spiders. Even Gaz was amazed, it was probably one of the best houses so far!
"Yeah..." Both me and Gaz agreed. Just then, we saw an adult man peek out of the upstairs window, he smiled kindly before shutting the curtains. Then, the three of us walked away.

Our morning was far from interesting. Half of it, we spent reading, the other half, we wrote about the book. Then there was lunch, where I sat next to Dib and Gaz. The only time I ever saw Gaz in school was in the lunch hall, so I decided to strike up a conversation with her. And before we knew it, lunch was over.
In our final lesson, children barely listened, they were so eager to go home that they never really payed attention. Until the mention of some sort of group presentation was said.
After taking attendance, Ms Bitters began to explain the project.
It was a project about space, which was fitting for both Zim and Dib. Dib, being fascinated by it and Zim being an 'alien' as Dib would say. That thought wasn't completely insane, he acted like one for sure.
It seemed as soon as she stopped explaining everyone had already found their groups. Me and Dib were obviously paired as we were close friends by now. In the corner of my eye, I spotted a familiar figure walk up to me. It was none other than Zim. He latched onto my hand and dragged me away from Dib, leaving him unimpressed.
"Human, you're working with me." Zim said, awfully demanding. Just then, Dib rushed over and took me away from him. It seemed I had no say in this whatsoever, which was annoying. Zim and Dib were both desperate to find a group since most pupils were already grouped up. I didn't see why we couldn't all just work together. In the distance, stood a group three, they seemed to be looking out for a fourth.
"Zim and Dib, either one of you work with me and the other join that group over there, or you two can grow a pair and work together." I said sternly. They slowly tilted their heads at me, then eyed eachother. The two seemed eager for the first suggestion, telling eachother to leave immediately. I was more happy to work with Dib other than Zim, since we met first. But I was also content with Zim joining either. I rolled my eyes at their argument and grabbed their shoulders. "Get a grip, we're working together now."
That left two unamused pupils standing right next to me.
I peaked around the big classroom seeing as our group was 1 person short. So far, me Dib and Zim had agreed to join as a group. On the opposite side of the classroom, stood Alex. She looked unhappy that there was a group project, so I decided to ask her to join us to make it more fun. As I made my way over there, her eyes met mine and she smiled. The other group of three tried making their way over too, seeming frightened not to have a fourth. I didn't understand why, but I beat them anyway.
Alex and I greeted each other, and from there, she knew what I was about to ask of her. She nodded at my offer, wanting to join the group. The other three girls seemed frustrated at that and walked away. We walked up to Dib and Zim, who seemed to still be arguing over god knows what.
"Thanks (Y/N), I didn't really want to join the other three..." Alex whispered shyly. To that, I shook her hand. I was about to reply, but then the teacher interrupted us.
"Are you all in groups of 4?" Ms Bitters asked in annoyance. Our teacher looked around the classroom, spotting the group of three girls who were desperately trying to hide from her. I guess now I got the understanding why the girls were frightened of being 1 student short. Ms Bitters spat, "You girls aren't, I'm sending you to the underground classroom."
The girls braced for impact, seeing as the ground below them had disappeared. It made me uncomfortable, 'How is that even legal!? Is it legal?!' I thought to myself.
After that, Ms Bitters sent us home with a task to finish our project. We had the options to chose any planet and write about it, while also putting images there to show it. The four of us decided that we'd do the project tonight to get it over and done with, it wasn't due for another week anyway. The project would be held at Zims house, as Dib requested. Zim kept shaking his head, but then smirked at something. After that, he allowed us there. I was suspicious of that sly smirk the Irken gave, and wondered what he was up to. I hate to say it, but I'm with Dib on this one...
I guess we'd find out what Zim was planning after school...
