Chapter 4
--Previously--
Despite 'Skool' and all of the terrible things within it, life was pretty good!.
Until we received a heavy knock on the door.

"I'll answer it." My Dad spoke, signalling for me to finish my dinner. He walked up to the door, a couple of rooms away and unlocked it. Then, with a gentle pull, he opened it to see an unrecognisable face.
"Hello. Is (Y/N) here?" Asked the boy. Dad's first thought was that he was one of my friends I had just met today in school. But he was better off checking with me before confirming something that he didn't even know was true. I abandoned my food after hearing my dad call me,
"(Y/N)! Someone's here for you!" He called me over to the front door. The 37-year-old shrugged, looking at the young boy who he assumed was a friend of mine. Still, he wasn't quite sure, so he added, with quiet words, "-I think."
Zim, from the outside, heard my tapping feet as I rushed to the door. Never in a million years had I expected Zim to be the person knocking on my door. In actuality, I assumed it was either Dib or Gaz, as they were my only friends at the moment.
Dad left me to it, going to his small bedroom to finish off some work of his.
"Zim?" I spoke in utter confusion.
"Hello (Y/N) human." Zim grinned.
"What are you doing here?"
"Well," he coughed, "I thought I'd just let you know that Zim is 'honoured' by your interest and wants to be let into the apartment immediately."
As much as I wanted to, I stopped myself. Dib had told me enough about Zim to know that I shouldn't go near him. I never believed the crazy thought that Zim could be an alien, but I did believe that he's someone that I shouldn't be talking to.
"And why should I do that?" I asked. While waiting for an answer, my eyes widened at a certain thought. "Wait. How do you even know where I live!?"
Zim paused for a moment, before smiling at his answer.
"I followed you, how else was I supposed to find it?" Zim knew this was messing with my brain, and immediately could tell I was freaked out. It amused him though. 'Pitiful human' he thought. At that, he laughed.
In attempts to slam the door, my father blocked it. He stared at me, slightly confused before opening it again.
"Is he your friend?" Asked my dad just to make sure. Right then, I wanted to shake my head, but after looking at Zim, I smirked before replying,
"Yes, oh we're the best of friends. I'll be right out, Zim."
To that, Zim rolled his eyes. I knew he wanted to be let in, but I didn't quite trust him yet. The only reason I told my dad that we were friends was because I wanted to hang out with him. He let me go, walking away once again.
"You two have fun!" He said, seeing me close the door.

We walked in a queue, awkward silence followed. It stayed like that for a while, before Zim turned the corner. He turned around and pulled me towards him by my shirt.
"What are you and the Dib-Stink planning!?"
I reacted calmly to this. Since this morning, Dib had told me many things about Zim. I suppose there's a thought that he could be an alien, he sure does act like one. That thought is to bizarre, but it would explain a few things. I know it's only been a day in this crappy school and I still had a lot to learn about it, but I had been in that building long enough to know that Zims behaviour wasn't 'normal' comparing to the other kids.
And oh my god, were the kids there oblivious as fuck!
Anyway, to answer his question,
"Nothing. We just met yesterday." I said calmly. Zim didn't quite believe this, and replied,
"I'm onto you, (Y/N) human!" This comment would sound way out of context, but he reminds me of that taller skeleton from undertale, Papyrus, was it..?
I laughed a bit at this, to which Zim found confusing.
"Alright, Zim..." I reached my hand out to ruffle his hair, but he jerked and slapped it away. Zim took it the wrong way, thinking I was going to snatch his weave. But I wasn't that harsh.
"DON'T TOUCH ME WITH YOUR FILTHY HANDS!!!" Zim screeched. I backed away in fright. After calming down a bit, he began to walk further away. I wondered where we were going, but never asked since I felt rather nervous at this point.
Zim suddenly stopped in the middle of the path. Seeing a little green dog rushing to him on 2 feet freaked me out a bit. It confused me so much at the fact that this 'dog' didn't run on all fours. Not only that, but it talked as well!
"Gir? What are you doing here!?" Zim sounded, a little angry at the so called dog. 'Gir' appeared to ignore whatever Zim said, and completely changed the subject.
"Dib is in you're house! He watched the scary monkey show with me!" The adorable boy smiled brightly, then he turned to me. I waved at the dog, before he ran over to hug me. I accepted this with all open arms. Zim didn't care about this gesture and continued talking.
"What!? WHY IS HE THERE!?" After asking that, which Gir never answered, Zim ran away to his house. Me and Gir struggled to catch up, and in the end, we just walked together.
Gir was so cute, amd reminded me of a young child. He was very much like me, full of curiosity.
"Zim hates Dib." Gir replied to one of my questions. To that, I nodded. Kind of figured that out since day 1, aka today. We continued walking to Zims, and not long after we arrived, we were greeted by Dib being thrown into one of the bins. Dib looked quite mad and was even more furious once he saw me.
"(Y/N)? What are you doing here!?" Dib asked in pure shock.
"Zim, for some reason, knocked for me. And now I'm here with this little guy!" I said, patting Gir on the head. He didn't really feel like a dog either, might I add.
"A-and you just went along with it!?"
"Pretty much." I replied calmly.
"I-" Dib stuttered again, but then gave up, "I'll talk about it tomorrow..."
After he walked away, I entered Zims house. He scratched his head, trying to figure out if Dib had touched any of his stuff, which to his luck, he didn't. After that little panic session, Zim and I shared a conversation, while Gir just shoved himself into a pile of snacks.
We talked about pretty much everything. At first, I mentioned Dib, then the topic slowly changed onto Gir, I asked if he was a dog or not.
"What does he look like to you..?" Zim asked sarcastically.
"Well, he certainly doesn't look like any other dog you'd see on the street." I stoked my chin. "What breed is he?"
".. Breed..?" Zim said in slight panic. He started to think for a while, before Gir interrupted us.
"Let's watch TV!!" He exclaimed, reaching for the remote. 'Guess I should leave the questions for another day, I just met them after all.'
And so the rest of the day consisted of me and Gir watching TV. Sometimes Zim would join us, but he said he was busy, using the excuse of 'homework'. And that was probably the smartest thing I saw him do all day.
When I got home, I did nothing but sleep. I was stuffed with snacks that I was too full for dinner, and I felt too tired to do anything else. So slowly, I drifted off to dream world...
