Chapter 21
--Previously--
"Yeah yeah, you can shut it off." He walked away. Dib crept up to it and was about to switch the machine off, but then a hand firmly grabbed his wrist. "...But I won't allow you to..."
And with those words, followed a fight between the two boys. It only made it better for Gaz since they were distracted. Even after she broke the machine, nobody noticed. And the three of us continued with our night, finding the exit to this maze; making our way back home.
For a Halloween that I rarely get to experience, this one was interesting - for sure!

Halloween night :-
Now I know he's definitely an alien. I've seen him without a disguise, with my own two eyes. He's a crafty fellow - he creates fantastic work! If only it were used for the good. My own daughter has hidden secrets and I feel like it's got something to do with Zim. I know things about his species which I thought - at first - was just a little game they played. No. It's real. Very real.
Now all that's left to do is to capture him on camera. Then I'll have to see him on my own accord and end this!
I may sound crazy, but I know what I'm talking about.

I woke up the next day, my phone buzzing with that annoying sound on repeat. It was no wonder why Gaz had to take an adult with her to 'rescue' me and Dib, the time they had left was just past midnight! From that, you could only imagine what time we'd arrived home. Don't even get me started with the lack of sleep I caught.
We were all tired - barely functioning well in school. Dib had dark circles under his eyes, his glassed barely fitting on his face. Zim's wig had not been put on properly (I had to sort that out for him), he also kept dropping on to the floor. What time did they even get back home?! Gaz was probably the most energised out of all of us - that's surprising. I guess everyone was at least a little tired from last night; it was Halloween after all!
The morning was awful, really. Miss Bitters wouldn't leave anyone alone (except for Gaz since she wasn't even in our class). Besides the point, she kept blaring at us, causing us to jolt awake. I even remember her threatening Dib, saying that she'd send him to the underground classroom if he didn't keep his eyes open. I admit, me and Zim couldn't stop laughing at that. We kept it quiet, but we kept looking from each other, to the one sat in the front row. This consisted of our whole morning. It was the usual; except, we were shattered.
Lunch dropped by, and the four of us gathered on one table. No one else bothered to sit at the table, despite its massive size. Anyway, at the moment, we were just having a pointless conversation. And by that, it literally had no meaning:
"That Dib-stink got what he deserved! It was my plan all along to make sure he was tired for today!!" Zim spat. Dib only gave him a look that said it all - he was definitely confused.
"Aren't you tired as well?" Dib raised a brow, staring into Zim's soul.
"No." Zim simply smiled, then his head fell onto the table. To that, Gaz peeped over to Zim and pounded her fist at the table. In shock, Zim's head shot up. I only gave out a little giggle but the Irken definitely took offence to that. The conversations we had at the lunch table were short and simple. Since we were all tired, none of us had the energy to chat for a while. When it stayed quiet, awkward would be the only fitting word to describe the atmosphere. Still, we got on with the school day just fine. We were only lucky enough about not being hassled by any of the teachers.

At the end of the school day, I went home in search for my Dad. But when I checked the office, it was empty. I knew it was wrong. I knew I shouldn't have snooped. I'm nosy. It was something that I was glad to have laid eyes on though. He had left his tab open, revealing a document; a draft of what he'd eventually send of to his boss. But what I saw made my jaw drop.
All of this information. This 'person' he referred to was none other than Zim.
I could only imagine all of the other information he'd gathered. It all made sense to me now... Whenever Zim would come over and my Dad would hear him talking to me, he'd rush to the door to say hello to Zim. He never does that to anyone else. Yesterday, his only reason for saving us in the maze was only because of Zim. And those footsteps I heard when Zim sat on my bed, telling me about Irkens and how they function - I realised it was him.
Oh no...
In a hurry, I gathered my coat and stormed out of the flat. Deleting the document wasn't going to help at the moment; bigger problems would form if I did. That's why I ran over to Zims house and told him the news. I mentioned the encounters him and my Dad had with each other. I asked him if he found anything suspicious of my father. I even asked whether or not he'd been questioned by him before. Oh... the relief I felt when he shook his head to all of those questions.
Still, Zim wanted me to bring him over to my house. He needed to see the documents for himself. Obviously, I phoned my Dad prior; just to check if he was home. When he asked where I was I told him I was hanging out with Gaz at the arcade nearby. Zim kept quiet, which was one of the smartest things I'd ever see him do this whole time. It was also strange - seeing him so quiet. Then again, it was for his own good.
We crept in to the office. (I don't know why we did it, my Dad wasn't even here). I sat down on the desk chair and opened the computer. Scrolling far enough through his files, I finally made it to his first ever document of this place.
And from there, I read...
