Chapter 12
--Previously--
Anyway, they left it there, where Tallest Red ended the call. Zim made his way back up to the living room, there, Gir greeted him with his usual cheery tone. Unfortunately for him, Zim wasn't in the mood and shook him off.
"Not now Gir, I need time to think." He sighed, gathering his things and walking into the kitchen.

Saturday passed, its usual busy behaviour kept time flying by. Sunday, however, felt slow as ever. That was until I heard a gentle knock on my bedroom door. It was Dib. I'm guessing he got bored and decided to knock for me. Either way, I was happy about it since it gave me something to do.
Dad wasn't home. Instead of being locked away - cooped up in his office, he was out. I never knew where but assumed it was shopping. After all, it wasn't like we had much in. One thing I was happy about is the fact that Dib now served as company to me.
Third Person POV:
(D/N) was going shopping, but had a further plan to that. Hopefully, he'd catch the gaze of Zim walking by. It wasn't anything too disturbing, like following the child around - no, that'd be way out of line. As for now, whenever the middle-aged man would spot the said 'alien' lurk about, he'd only pay attention to his actions. That was his plan for now. If there were any further suspicions, or if he ever found out the truth, his plans would change.
If the kid was an alien who planned to destroy our planet, then he'd try and catch a photo of the Irken and (hopefully) get it on the newspaper. Unfortunately, there was no sign of Zim today so he called in earlier than he wanted.
The starved man popped his keys on the table. He called out to his daughter to say that he was home, but there was no reply. He didn't worry about it though. Loud music blasted from her room, so it was no wonder they didn't hear him. A gentle pull on the handle was enough to catch the attention of the young teenagers sitting in the room.
"Is Dib having dinner with us, (Y/N)?" He asked - not trying to sound rude, but only curious. Dib felt nervous. A feeling loathed him that he was being a burden. It wasn't like the family of 2 minded their guest staying for a meal, they were more than happy to see him. But the anxiety Dib felt was too surreal. Dib, checked the time, acting like he was in a rush. He didn't want to seem obnoxious by saying no as well as being 'greedy' by saying yes.
"I would love to have dinner with you two, I really would. I can't though, I'm past my curfew!!"
"Hm? It's only 5:30..." The young female questioned.
"Uh, yeah, well, I have to head home. Me, Gaz and Dad will be busy..." He twirled his fingers - all sweaty and nervous. (Y/N) furrowed her eyebrows, quite confused at the sudden change of plans. "I'll walk back now-"
"Nonsense! I have a car! (Y/N), do you mind unpacking the shopping while I take your friend home." (D/N) asked. His daughter nodded her head at that, having no problem staying behind. She knew the drive would be short anyway.
The thing that awaited Dib was the awkward car drive full of silence. If only it'd turned out that way. Actually, (D/N) was the first to speak.
"Dib, you truly are a great friend to (Y/N)!" He complimented. Dib gave a nod of approval, to say a thank you. "I know that you believe someone in you're class is an alien. I'm quite suspicious of it myself. I just want to let you know I fully support your efforts in getting others to believe you!"
"Thank you!" Dib grinned. The feeling of awkwardness brushed away as the two got deep into conversation. It wasn't long after before Dib got out of the car and shut the door, thanking (D/N) for the ride home. He could only feel happiness.
Little did (Y/N) know, there was more to the story than that. Dib wanted to get the proof he needed, not just for his classmates, but for (Y/N)'s Dad. It'd bring more pay to (D/N), with more eyes on Dib. It was official. Trying not to make it seem creepy, Dib and (D/N) were working together to get rid of Zim. They weren't going to kill him, just try and get him off of this planet. And to do that, Zim needed no one. It was cruel, but it'd save the earth and its people.
The night ended with (D/N) and his daughter having a happy conversation together, then saying goodnight and heading to bed. Tangled in sheets, (Y/N) soon found herself leaping back into dreamland.

(Y/N)'s POV:
Awoken by thunder, I groaned. On a wet Monday morning, I'd have to walk to school. Dad had a car, but he never used it. Plus, he was probably asleep again. I checked outside to find it was an overcast day. Not much light, a quiet street, and it was my waking time anyway. There, sounded my alarm, five minutes later than the time I woke up.
After shutting my alarm off, I got ready for the morning. Bathing myself in warm, bubbly water, eating a healthy porridge - with the exception of syrup on the top. (A/N: Does anyone else like this for breakfast or is it just me?)
Time passed and I was already at school. Me, Dib and Gaz all arrived at school, 3 soaking messes. So really, taking that bath was pointless. Ms Bitters could be heard, chattering away about the space project that was due soon.
"You've got three days.!" She said with a chalky tone. "Three days.!" She repeated.
I turned to Dib, our eyes locking. The poor boy looked nervous again, and I could only pity him. Then, I looked at Zim. A smirk only plastered on his face, and it stayed there till days end. Seriously, his expression wouldn't change! Lastly, I looked over to Alex, sitting near the back of the classroom. It was clear to me that she was confused. We all didn't know what we were doing as I left early the other day all thanks to Zim.
Since the project was due on Thursday (three days from now), we'd have to hurry up and do the project. We never bothered last week, so now we'd have to rush. I informed everyone to meet at my house after school. Gaz even came too, which was odd. Being the sister of Dib, it was easy for her to shove her nose into his business. Did she help with the project? No. She just laid on the couch and played on her new DS out of pure boredom.
Alex was the first person to jot anything down. We spent our time researching facts about Saturn. About its rings, its measurements, thickness, while also giving basic facts. Our plan was that we'd begin by doing a lot of research. I'd create that into a script - with the exception of the others deciding what they wanted to say. We sat there, on the floor in the living room for hours just doing research. We left it there after I began part of the script. Tomorrow, the others would find recyclable materials to create a 'replica' of Saturn.
I shut off my laptop and had everyone gather their things. I walked them all safely, including Dib. It surprised me how we didn't argue over the fact that I'd be walking back on my own, but I suppose it felt nice to be the one to keep him company while heading home. It left me tired.
So what did I do once I got back?
Went to sleep.
