Ozpin:"Looks like he's here. (Y/n), meet Qrow Branwen. Uncle to Ruby and Yang."

"Nice to meet you sir."

I outstretched my hand and he shook it.

Qrow:"Drop the formalities and just call me Qrow."

"Sure thing."

Ozpin:"(Y/n), as you're aware, hero associations and huntsmen agencies are scouting for possible candidates. And after your performance at the tournament, you have plenty of requests."

He pulled up a screen and showed me a long list of names.

"Heh."

Ozpin:"However, as your headmaster I get to give my input on what the student decides to join. I am also a huntsman. As is Qrow."

Qrow:"Yep."

"So what you're saying is that you want me to do my internship with you two?"

Ozpin:"Somewhat. However, it's less of an internship and more of a team up. There are some missions I'd like for you to take. These are S-Rank missions and need to be taken seriously. I would normally have a third or fourth year handle them but you are the more reliable person for the job."

"Alright. This is gonna be interesting."

Ozpin:"I'm sure it will be. I'll update you two on your first mission later today. For now, why don't you two get acquainted with each other?"

We shrugged and walked to the elevator and made small talk.

Qrow:"You're one extraordinary kid."

"You wouldn't be the first to tell me that."

Qrow:"That power you use. What's it called?"

"Ki. It allows me to shoot energy, have enhanced strength and reflexes and fly."

Qrow:"Now that sounds badass."

"Heh, it really is. In fact I plan on starting a club to teach some of the other first years about it."

Qrow:"That sounds like a good idea."

The elevator made it to the first floor and we walked out.

Qrow:"If you don't mind, what do you say to a quick sparring match?"

"I'm ready whenever you are."

He smirked and grabbed a flask from his jacket and took a swig. He put it back and drew his sword.

Qrow:"Then let's dance."

He swung it at me but I dodged and was surprised to see he wanted to spar right here in the hallway.

He smiled and I did too. He swung at me but I just dodged and weaved. He transformed his weapon to a scythe and spun it around. He tossed it up and when he caught it, he shot a dust bullet at me. I blocked it as ice began to cover part of my wrist and forearm.

"That feels good honestly."

I slapped my forearms together and broke the ice apart. I charged at him and grabbed him by the collar and tossed him down the hall. He rolled along the floor but quickly got up and ran towards me. He jumped onto the lockers and ran along them then jumped into the air. He brought his scythe down but I caught it between my fingers and threw him through a wall.

"Oof! Sorry about that!"

He got up and drank from his flask again and put it away.

Qrow:"Oh don't be. I'm actually beginning to enjoy myself here."

I smirked and we rushed at each other.

Yang POV

I was wandering around the school aimlessly with my earbuds in as I tried to think of who I should intern with.

My thoughts were interrupted when I saw a locker fly through a wall. I put away my earbuds and ran to the commotion. I wasn't the only one there as plenty of students were gathered recording what was going on currently. Suddenly a man was sent barreling down the hall. He got up and I recognized him immediately.

"Uncle Qrow?!"

He saw me and smiled.

Qrow:"Hey firecracker."

He was covered in dust, with his hair and clothes in a mess. Someone rushed him and it was (Y/n). His clothes were slightly burnt, part of it had ice frozen on it and he was covered in dirt with a cut across his gi.

"Yang, your uncle is badass!"

Qrow:"Yang, your friend is badass!"

They smiled at each other and laughed then began to duel again for whatever reason. Ruby came by just then and was as confused as I was.

(Y/n) kicked a locker towards Qrow and he cut it in half with no effort but was hit with a punch across the cheek by (Y/n). His aura shattered and he fell onto the floor. (Y/n) held out his hand and Qrow took it and was helped up. Ruby and I rushed over to them.

"Could either of you explain what's going on?!"

(Y/n) wiped off his shoulders and held a stupid grin on his face.

(Y/n):"Qrow wanted a sparring match and well, we had one just now."

Ruby:"Uncle Qrow, you can't just fight in the hallway."

Qrow:"I can do what I want. I'm not a student here."

Ruby and I punched him in the arm and he winced in pain.

Ruby:"And neither should you (Y/n)!"

He raised his hands in defense as she pouted at him.

(Y/n):"Come on, can't blame a guy for wanting to have fun."

Ruby slapped his arm which just made him laugh.

"So why did you want to spar against him?"

Qrow:"Well, he and I are going to be working together."

Ruby and I gasped as (Y/n) nodded.

Ruby:"What?! No fair! I want to intern with Uncle Qrow!"

"Yeah! Let us join!"

Qrow:"No can do kiddos. We're going to be taking on S-Rank missions. You two aren't ready yet."

"Aww what?"

Ruby:"Not fair! (Y/n) please take me with you."

(Y/n):"Hey my hands are tied. Plus I'm sure you'll go on some interesting missions with whoever you join."

Ruby sighed but smiled.

Ruby:"I guess you're right but you two better behave!"

Both:"Yes ma'am."

She giggled and hugged them both. We heard footsteps and saw Ozpin walking down the hall.

"Uh-oh."

He looked at the damage they caused and said nothing.

Ozpin:"Qrow, you have a bit of drywall in your hair."

He wiped his head and saw bits of drywall fall out.

Qrow:"Thanks Ozzy."

Ozpin:"You're welcome. Ah, Ruby and Yang. I'm happy you're here. There are some requests with huntsmen I think you want to take a look at."

He handed us his scroll and we saw that the first one was to intern with our mom and dad.

Ozpin:"It seems Tai wants to keep his girls close and safe."

Qrow:"Heh, he wants to start a family business."

Ruby smiled in joy and squealed.

Ruby:"I always wanted to go on a mission with mom and dad!"

We handed it back and he tapped something and sighed.

Ozpin:"Then there's this one for you, Yang."

He handed me it and the request was from my mom, Raven Branwen. Qrow saw my face and walked over. Ruby peeked and frowned a bit. (Y/n) stood there as he waited for us.

"I-"

Ozpin:"Yang, it's your decision. Whether you want to intern with her or not is up to you."

"I'm going to have to think this over."

Ozpin:"Of course."

Qrow:"Yang, you're a tough and wise girl. You'll know what to choose."

I hugged him and he hugged back.

Ruby:"If you want to use this opportunity to see her then you can. Just be sure to come back safe and sound."

She then joined the hug as I let a bit of tears flow from my eyes.

Later

There were a few bullheads loaded outside as students were talking with heroes and huntsmen from all over.

These students had already made their decision to join with someone. Currently, we were going to say bye to our friend, (Y/n).

Ruby was already there and she was giving them a stern talking to. It made me smile and I walked over to them.

Ruby:"And be sure to call us if anything goes wrong."

(Y/n):"I wouldn't need to worry about that. This guy knows how to throwdown."

She pouted and he apologized.

Qrow:"Firecracker, come here."

I walked closer and he pat my shoulder.

Qrow:"If you do decide to go with her, just be prepared to see things you wouldn't believe."

"Thank you Qrow."

Our other friends came by and started to say bye to them.

Joan:"So what's the first mission?"

Qrow:"We're going after a rogue huntsman."

Izuki:"Rogue?"

Qrow:"Yeah. Huntsmen have permission to step into uncharted territory and places hidden from the public. Some just become a huntsman for these reasons. The one we're after is a bit of a serial killer. Killed someone close to Ozpin and the other teachers."

Pyrrha:"That's terrible."

(Y/n):"Don't worry, we'll take care of him."

Nora:"You should break his legs!"

(Y/n):"Not a bad idea, Nora. I'll be sure to do just that."

Nora:"YES!"

We all laughed as their bullhead landed behind them.

(Y/n):"Well, time for us to go. When we all come back let's be sure to share some interesting stories. And if you are ever in trouble, don't hesitate to call for me. I'll be there in an instant."

We all nodded and thanked him before he got on. The bullhead door closed on (Y/n) smiling and waving at us. I could tell Ruby was a bit disheartened by it but I wrapped my arm around her shoulder and pulled her close. She smiled and waved at the bullhead as it flew away.

The Next Day

We had finally made our decisions and today was where we were all going to part ways.

Izuki was going with some old man called Gran Torino. Joan, Nora, Ren and Pyrrha were going as a team with some top huntress. Blake was joining some hero who was also a Faunus. Weiss was going with her sister Winter.

Tai:"Yang!"

I turned around and saw my dad talking with my mom and Ruby. I walked over to them and hugged them.

Tai:"So, you sure?"

"I am."

He sighed but gave me a small smile.

Tai:"Well you're a big girl so I won't knock your decision."

Summer:"Just be careful dear and make sure she feeds you or so help me I'll-"

Tai:"Easy there honey."

She pouted and looked away which made me giggle. We shared a hug and said bye to each other. The hours went by as everyone began to leave. I was the last one to leave as the moon was already up in the sky. I was sitting on a bench when I heard someone approaching. It was Ozpin.

"She probably didn't even want me to join. It was probably some stupid test she thought of."

Ozpin:"Or maybe it would cause trouble if the leader of a bandit tribe walked onto a school full of heroes and huntsmen chasing after her."

"Oh yeah. I guess that makes sense."

?:"It certainly does."

Across the courtyard stood a figure with glowing red eyes. They stepped forward and I saw my birth mother.

Ozpin:"Long time no see Raven."

Raven:"Can it Ozpin!"

Ozpin:"Feisty. Well, good luck Yang and I hope for the best."

"Thank you."

He nodded and walked off as I walked to my mom. All of a sudden, she hugged me tightly and I hugged back. We stood there in silence embracing each other.
