Credit to the YouTuber Horror Stories for the information. Enjoy.

On this day, 77 years ago, on December 5th 1945, 5 TBM Avenger Torpedo Bombers were on a training mission from The Fort Lauderdale Naval Air Station. The mission seemed to be going smoothly as it started, but then the Planes entered The Bermuda Triangle. AND THAT'S WHEN IT ALL WENT WRONG...

On this day, 77 years ago, on December 5th 1945, 5 TBM Avenger Torpedo Bombers from The Fort Lauderdale Naval Air Station were on a training mission in The Bermuda Triangle. The flight, lead by United States Flight Lieutenant Charles Carroll Taylor, a man who had 2'500 flying hours mostly from these types of air crafts and his training pilots with 300 hours, 65 of which came from the same type of aircraft, was going very well, when all of a sudden, the air station lost contact with the 5 Planes and the 5 Planes and all of it's men disappeared and were never seen again...

It's been 77 years since that very mysterious day, but there have been many logical theories that people have come up with to explain the mysterious disappearance. The most well known and accepted theory about the disappearance is that the main pilot, Lieutenant Taylor became confused and disoriented during the flight mission.

A few minutes into the trip, the quintet group of Planes were flying over The Florida Keys, but most people agree with the theory that Lieutenant Taylor mistook the islands they were flying over to be The Florida Keys, when they were actually flying over The Bahamas, a set of islands to the east of Fort Lauderdale. Lieutenant Taylor himself even reported that the Flight 19 crew were suffering from compass malfunctions and The Controlled Tower told Taylor that the Planes could not be flying over The Florida Keys at the moment because the weather that day did not blow that way.

When Lieutenant Taylor reported the compass malfunctions to the air station, he was told to fly north of where he was heading towards Fort Lauderdale in case the Planes ran out of fuel. If the Planes were flying over The Bahamas and were told to go north, that means that their Planes would have flown out to open seas instead of Fort Lauderdale.

After Taylor reported that his compass was not working properly, some of the team mates on the mission told him their compasses were working fine, so Taylor decided to rely on their compasses and set to north east, which would take them to Florida if they were in The Florida Keys. But the Planes weren't in The Florida Keys, but none of the men on the mission knew that which only made Lieutenant Taylor even more confused.

But Taylor then thought that they were actually in The Bahamas and not The Florida Keys, and ordered himself and his crew to start flying west towards Florida. If Taylor and his crew continued going left, they would've reached land before running out of fuel. The mission seemed to be getting back on its feet again and things were going to go back to normal, but unfortunately, there is one important detail that Lieutenant Taylor forgot to take into consideration during the realization of the Planes being in the wrong area. Where EXACTLY were they in The Bahamas.

During the flight mission, the 5 Planes were flying over The Northern area of The Bahamas, but Lieutenant Taylor thought they were actually in The Southern Bahamas because within a few minutes of constantly flying west, the 5 Planes were flying above nothing but Ocean. Lieutenant Taylor became confused even more because he was sure that within a few minutes, he would've reached Florida by now. This made Lieutenant Taylor make the biggest and last mistake in his life...

After a few minutes of flying over nothing but Seas, Taylor thought that they were flying south of Florida and had flown west enough, and needed to start flying north towards Florida. Unfortunately, the 5 Planes were not to the south of Florida, but instead to the east of Florida, so flying north would be nothing but flying overseas until reaching The Arctic Ocean. The Flight 19 Crew would've run out of fuel shortly after this non fixable decision of flying north, and would have crashed into The Atlantic Ocean...

The Fort Lauderdale Air Station was absolutely shocked with the Plane's disappearances and their loss of contact and immediately sent a Martin PBM Mariner Seaplane to search for the 5 Planes, when all of a sudden, the exact same thing happened to it as well. The Plane and all 13 men of it's crew vanished and lost contact as well.

The Station, more weirded out than ever, knew they were dealing with a serious problem, but when they started searching more widely for help, they learned that a Plane like that Disappearing and losing contact would be quite possible, because a Ship in the area reported witnessing an explosion in the sky in the same area the Plane was in. Most people believe that the Plane that the Ship in the area saw explode that Day was The PBM Rescue Plane sent out to search for the 5 other Planes. What made this Theory Even more possible was that Mariner Planes are nicknamed "Flying Gascans" Due to their heavy fuel tanks, which can lead to huge explosions due to sparks from pilots and crew members smoking on board. Most people believe that The PBM Rescue Plane exploded from an explosive reaction during the search for the 5 Planes...

All 14 men on The Flight 19 mission and all 13 men on The Martin PBM Mariner Seaplane vanished without a trace and were never seen again...

This story may seem incredibly shocking when you first hear about it, but suddenly, it doesn't become so shocking when you realize that this particular incident took place in The Bermuda Triangle.

The Bermuda Triangle is an area in The Atlantic Ocean well known for its many disappearances of Planes and Ships over the past 100 years, earning itself the nickname "The Devil's Triangle". The story of Flight 19 is among the most famous of disappearance stories in The Bermuda Triangle, and over the years there have been many stories about Planes and Ships disappearing in it's waters and skies, and all sorts of theories about how they disappeared, and there still continues to be strange things happening in The Bermuda Triangle...

To this day, 77 years later, it's still not known what happened to those 5 Planes and their 14 crew members on that training mission and that Martin PBM Mariner Seaplane and its 13 crew members...

What do YOU think happened to those 27 men on that very strange day, 77 years ago?

The end!
