~A Fitting End~
I was not as strong as I had hoped. And I was beginning to feel strangely. I'd often catch myself out doors without knowing how I'd gotten there.
Neverland kept calling out to me. And one of these times I feared I'd go and never return.
Sunlight flickered across the serene lake-waters as I dipped my feet into the refreshing water.
It had been two very short days since I was rescued.
I had been guarded by Finn. And Hook. In turns and was just now getting a breath of air... before my wedding.
I remember when we finally got onto the boat and left Neverland's castle behind. Finn gave me his mother's ring... he got down on the freshly swabbed deck. Pulled out a little brown box tied with twine and looked at me with all the love in his heart.
"Wendy, my Daring, you know I've never been one for dramatic speeches... but I think this moment calls for it. Wendy, Moira, Angela, Darling... I've loved you since you were the bright eyed little girl that I met in the forest. I've loved you from far away when you moved to London. And I knew when you showed up in my shop that it was fate that had brought you back into my life. With everything you do you bring light and life into my little world, I have battled mermaids, and princes to get to you. And upon my honor I will take care of you and your brothers until my dying breath. I know this marriage will be unconventional. And It may take you some time to work through all you've been through, so I'll give you time. And maybe one day you can grow to love me."
I gaped at him like a fish out of water.
"Wendy?" he asked.
"Yes?"
"Will you marry me?"
"Y-yes."
He untied the twine, and put the ring on my finger.
"This ring was my mother's, the doctor put a spell on it that should hide you from the fae." Finn smiled.
I smiled at him as our audience started clapping.
"Avast ye scurvy dogs, hoist the mainsail and lets be rid of Pan and his eyesore of a castle!" Hook barked, ruining the moment.
"Oh, and congrats to you two lovebirds." he amended.
"What now?" I asked.
"It's a three day trip back to the portal" The Captain replied.
"But we're flying why isn't it faster?" I asked.
"Oh it is! But we're not going to the same portal you'd expect."
"What why?"
"If Pan decides to go after you that's the first place he'd check."
I frowned.
"Besides. You have a friend who wants to visit you."
"Who?"
"Belle."
~-~
Belle... she had been so sweet when I arrived. And between her and Rose we three became best of friends. They were so kind and sweet. They made good princesses.
"I'm not a princess yet!" Belle would exclaim.
"Why not?! Your prince is perfectly lovely!" I'd tease her.
She lightly smacked my arm. "I'm making him work for it!"
They helped me overtime, finding a chapel, getting me a dress. And fairy proofing the wedding. (Which I wasn't sure was a thing, but acquiescence to eventually. I mean what harm could it do?)
So we bought three matching wedding dresses veils included and Rose and Belle were my brides maids. I had a feeling that us three being indistinguishable would lead to some hi-jinx when the day was through. Especially since this was a double wedding. (Not a triple as Rose and Philip had already had a sea worthy wedding.)
Which I had to admit bummed me out that I had missed it.
I swished my feet around and listened to the sloshing of the water.
And was startled out of my thoughts by a hand on my shoulder.
"Good lord Belle you walk like a cat!" I exclaimed.
"Sorry!" She giggled. "It's time."
My heart pounded as I stood up, dried my feet on the grass and grabbed my shoes.
"Are you ready?" she asked.
"As I'll ever be..." I replied.

(Peter's POV)
Peter stared dully up at the roof the stars winking at him through the skylight did not hold the answers that he so desperately needed.
What did I do wrong?
How could she leave me like that?
What do I do?
But Peter knew there was nothing he could do... He'd done enough already.
"Well...I knew from the start that we couldn't both have her."
For a moment though... he thought he did...
He was startled out of his reverie by the heavy thud of a body landing on the roof outside.
"PETER!" A familiar voice screeched.
"Tink?"
Peter opened the door to his rooftop get-away.
Tinkerbell siezed him by the arms.
"She's right behind me! Rouse the Army!"
"Tink calm down! Who's right behind you?"
"Seraphina!!!"
Peter stared at her blankly.
"THE EVIL QUEEN!"
"Damn!" Peter took a running swan dive off the roof, Tink close behind.
"THE EVIL QUEEN'S ON HER WAY SOUND THE ALARMS!!!" Peter shouted.
A bell began ringing in the castle. One that was soon echoed by the village below.
"I must find my mother." Peter panicked.
"You mean the queen?"
"No Tink I'm off to find my birth mother! See ya later!" Peter snapped, as the two continued to rush down the hallway.
Peter stopped short and pointed at Clover. "You! Where is the queen?" Clover blinked up at him in surprise. "I-I She... I don't know sir."
"Well find out! And get her to the panic room!"
Peter turned around and continued his frantic pace down the hall. Tink scuttling after him.
"What now?" Tink asked.
"We send messages to the other kingdoms. I doubt any will get there in time but it's worth a try...How far behind you is she?"
"I don't know."
"Well tell me when you find out." He snapped.
"You! How fast can you run?" Peter asked pointing at a guard.
"Pretty fast sir."
Peter waved his hands and two stacks of letters appeared.
"These." He said waving the letters in his right hand. "Are to be sent out on pigeons and these..." He said handing the other letters to him. "Are to be run out on foot." Deliver as many as you can and take two more men with you, the castle is depending on you."
"And now." Peter said brandishing his sword. "We wait."
~-~
Footsteps flooded the jungle, as a man in full armour clattered through the forest towards the lost boy's camp.
A letter was delivered and a flurry of feet rushed towards a line of holes in the trees.
Six boys in six trees wiggled their way down under the ground to their little house and marched like soldiers into an enchanted mirror that rippled as they passed through it.
And each of the boys held a thought in their heads, like tiny mice whispering over and over. 'Wendy-lady''Wendy-lady''Wendy-lady'.
* POP *
The six boys stood outside a crisp white chapel.
~-~
"Dearly beloved, we are gathered here today in the presence of God these witnesses, to join Finnegan Redmond, and Wendy Darling in matrimony, which is commended to be honourable among all men; and therefore is not by any to be entered into unadvisedly or lightly, but reverently, discreetly, advisedly and solemnly. Into this holy estate these two persons present now come to be joined. If any person can show just cause why they may not be joined together, let them speak now or forever hold their peace."
The chapel doors swung open bathing Finn and I in sunlight. The crowd turned to the distraction and I looked wide eyed at the six little boys silhouetted in the afternoon sun.
"Wendy Lady?" Toodles' voice cut through the silent chapel.
There was a murmur from the crowd as they all turned back to look at me.
"T-Toodles?" I replied meekly.
"It is her!" The boys exclaimed, beginning to rush down the aisle.
Three swords were drawn in unison as Finn, Hook, and Everard. Moved to defend their ladies.
The boys stepped back, reaching for their weapons defensively.
"Wait! Hear us out please! Wendy-Lady! Peter's in trouble!!!"
"It's a trap." Finn murmured, shifting anxiously.
"Let them speak." I demanded my voice coming out stronger than I thought it would.
"The evil queen is coming to destroy the castle while Peter's weak. Any moment now she'll get him and take over the kingdom."
I shook my head. How could I begin to trust them?
"And why should she believe you? We all know what you have done!" Belle snapped.
"What?" Toodles blinked.
"You helped Peter kidnap her and her brothers!" Everard exclaimed.
Toodles turned to Me. "Wendy please! She's going to kill Peter..."
I pulled my veil off my face and looked them in the eye. I could tell they were telling the truth.
I turned to Finn.
"Wendy this is madness." He said, reading my face.
"Take care of my brothers." I replied, brushing past him and rushing to the Lost boys.
"Wendy!"
I looked back over my shoulder.
"There's no way I'm letting you face this!"
I scowled at him.
"At least not alone." He sheathed his sword and looked over at his mother who stood gawping in the front row. "Please take care of the Darling boys. Mum..."
"I'm so sorry Mrs. Redmond." I walked briskly over to her and Gave her back her ring.
"Be safe dear." She replied.
With that I ran after the lost boys, my friends following close behind me.
~-~
Peter paced his throne room, and glanced out the window at the Dark clouds that rolled over the horizon. No doubt concealing Seraphina's army.
"You can stop this right here you know..." A female voice curled at the edges of his consciousness. "None of your little common folk need die..."
"Hello Seraphina." Peter grinned.
"Hello your Majesty!~" The woman cackled, with an overly dramatic bow.
"What do you want?"
"Don't tease me boy, it's quite obvious."
"The throne."
"Well I do like the upholstery But you're not going to trip me up into agreeing to this overstuffed chair and sending me on my merry way."
"The crown?" Peter replied.
"The kingdom..."
"Well now that you can't have you crook nosed old hag!" Peter replied cheekily.
The Queen's plump lips turned into an unattractive scowl.
"It's been a long time since anyone's been able to see under my glamour."
"Yet the mirrors do not lie isn't that right granny?"
Peter was shocked by a sharp stabbing pain in his lower abdomen.
"That's precisely right my boy, so tell me..." She said conjuring a small mirror and setting it up on the ground so he could see the wound. "What do you see?"
Peter laughed ruefully, as he flopped gracelessly down onto the ground.
"Wendy."
~-~
"Aaarg!" I exclaimed, as I fell clutching my side.
"Wendy!" Finn shouted.
My heart began to pound double time as a familiar pain spread down my arm.
"Peter's in trouble!" I grunted.
"We're almost at the castle it's just beyond those trees." Toodles encouraged. "Wendy lady do you know what you must do?"
"What?" I panted.
"You must give him true love's kiss." one of the twins piped up.
"I hardly see how that would help. I'm not even his true love."
"What do you mean?" Toodles asked.
"I mean I kissed him before..."
Finn's jaw muscles clenched.
"Sorry Finn."
"He has to be in love with you, and you with him for this to work... it's a hail Mary at best." The Doc sighed.
"Besides even if that did work I don't see how my kiss can stop Seraphina's army."
Hook nodded "Magic, love... When one kisses their true love whilst both of them are in love it has a very powerful magic. Powerful enough to keep. all dark forces at bay."
Eventually the castle was in sight and Wendy and her squad were able to make their way through the castle.
With her hand outstretched and a great deal of difficulty. Wendy used the glowing vines on her hand to locate Peter as they glowed brighter when he was close. And they soon found the room on which Peter lay. Sprawled across the floor with blood pooling around his body.
"You're too late." a smooth voice taunted. "He's as good as dead. In fact, since you caught me in a good mood I'll even let you have his body." She said as she absently picked at her nail.
"Peter!" Wendy sobbed.
"Wendy? No run you're too late!" he groaned.
"Oh my lord Peter you're bleeding..."
"I got what I deserved." He smiled before closing his eyes.
"Could I trouble you all to do this elsewhere? I have things to attend to..." The queen sniffed.
Nobody in our little group argued as we moved him gently into the hall.
"What do we do Doc?" I asked mournfully.
"There's only so much my magic can do... we need a better source..."
"The Stream!" We chorused.
There's a door in the dungeon that leads to the outside! Belle exclaimed.
"And our dog can give us a ride to the stream from there." Everard smiled.
Without further deliberation, our little gang managed to quickly and gently get him out of the castle and climb the massive dog who carried us urgently to the stream. It was as if he knew time was of the essence.
We helped him into the water, his bloodstained tunic floating in the water.
"Please please please work!" I exclaimed.
Everyone backed off as I waded into the water to hold up Peter's head out of the water.
"Kiss him!" One of the lost boys shouted.
I shot the group a dirty look, then gazed tenderly at Peter.
"Please... I can't live without you." I begged.
And I gently put my lips on his.
When i opened my eyes I started backwards. Glowing
Peter was glowing.
A very eerie green, and his eyes were open about halfway.
"Wendy..."
"I'm h..."
The boys came into the water and took Peter's weak body from me.
"Thank you Wendy... you're free to go."
I blushed and watched as the clouds rolled back out of the sky, and as a young looking woman ran out of the castle and flew up into said clouds.
"Did you hear me?" Peter struggled to sit up.
I turned to face him.
"I'm free to go?" I snarked.
"That's what you want isn't it?!" He frowned.
"What I want? WHAT I WANT?!" I laughed madly.
And with that I sloshed back out of the water and headed towards the forest.
