NADiA'S POiNT OF ViEW
"The news is loving you guys..." Agent Hill mumbles about how Banner might be arrested. She sighs over the screen.
"Nothing's official... that's good right?" Clint asks her. Everyone is in a daze almost.
"Wanna switch out?" Tony was unaffected by Wanda's influence along with Clint and myself.
"No, I'm good. If you wanna get some kip, now's a good time, cause we're still a few hours out." Clint answers as I eye Natasha and Steve, they're both very stoic. Eyes glazed over, I'm kind of confused. The youngest girl was clearly scared like she didn't want to do it.
Like she was peer pressured into it.
I'm sure she was only because her older siblings were there. She seemed powerful, more powerful than even Wanda. Apparently, the boy is named Pietro but they haven't gotten the girl's name yet.
"A few hours from where?" Tony asks, leaning on the empty co-pilot chair.
"A safe house." Clint answers.
CLiNT'S HOME - NADiA'S POiNT OF ViEW
"What is this place?" Thor's deep voice is rather comforting and Stark's voice sounds confused.
"Uh... a safe house?" Clint chuckles.
"I sure hope." The back of the jet opens and Clint leads everyone out. I leave my bow and quiver on the jet as I follow behind everyone. Barton opens the door to the cute farmhouse and announces his presence.
A heavily pregnant woman waddles out of the hall kisses Clint. Tony turns to Thor as I give the woman a small smile, "She's an agent...of some kind." Tony mumbles to Thor. Clint turns back toward the group he gestures toward the woman then us.
"Everyone, this is Laura." She smiles.
"I know all of your names." Her eyes met mine, "Except yours, who is this?" Barton sees her looking at me, then he turns to Stark.
"She's an Avenger right?" Clint asks while leaning into his wife.
Tony stutters, "Well, not officially but technically-" Clint cuts him off.
"That is Nadia, sort of a new recruit." Laura waves at me, I nod my head respectfully. I want my idol's family to like me, obviously. A young girl runs in and Clint picks her up, "Dad!" She yells and hugs him, causing me to smile.
"I see her!" He kisses the girl's head, Clint sounds very happy and content. This girl has a great dad and that causes a pang in my chest.
"These are...smaller agents." Tony sounds more surprised than sarcastic which I think is all of us.
Our collective ten brain cells, which are mostly Tony and Bruce are confused. I'm kidding, we're like two brain cells... at most.
"Did you bring auntie Nat?" The girl who's still attached to Barton asks and Natasha steps out from behind Thor.
"Why don't you hug her and find out?" I smile at how Natasha looks happy as the girl rushes into her arms.
This is cute, "Sorry to barge in Ma'am." Steve says politely and Tony backs him up.
"You see, we would have called... if we weren't busy not knowing you existed." The sarcasm is evident and I'm starting to think that's the only language Tony truly understands.
"Yeah, well Fury helped me set this up when I joined. He kept it off SHIELD's files, I'd like to keep it that way. I figure it's a good place to lay low." Clint explains as his son smiles up at him.
I wish I had a cute family like this... but then again... do I really?
I follow after Thor for some fresh air, "I need answers, I won't find them here." I wave him off as he flies away with his hammer. The air is crisp and warm, way different than the city's air. It's easier on the lungs and it smells so good.
Maybe that's just where we are but it's nice, it's different. I go onto the jet to grab my notebook, I'm bored maybe I can draw something? The yard is nice and expansive as I curl up under a tree, the sun is warm and my glasses are protecting my sensitive eyes.
Sometimes I wish for normal eyes, to be like everyone else. To not be looked at like some science experiment gone wrong, a murderer. My mom died because of me and it's almost like no one cares to acknowledge it; like it doesn't matter.
But it does...if she hadn't died I wouldn't be here, I would be a completely normal kid probably living in that small town I can never remember the name of. "What's your name?" I look up and see the little girl, she has two braids framing her small face.
"Nadia, what's yours?" I decide to be nice, she seems calm enough...not too hyper.
"Lila Barton!" She yells and I smile at her. She's adorable, her blue eyes shining in the light. "What are these?" Lila covers my eyes with her small hands, she grips the glasses and stares at my eyes through them.
"My glasses," I answer and she looks at me clearly perplexed.
"I've never seen any like these." I take them off and hand them to her despite the bright sun, I squint as she places them on her head. "I can't see anything!" She giggles and hands them back.
"I have special eyes that can't see like you and these help me," I open my eyes completely but shield them with my hands, Lila gasps at my bright eyes.
"They're pretty." She gets really close to them and marvels at them.
This causes a wide grin to spread on my face as she plops down on the ground. I slide on the glasses before my eyes get anymore irritated. They already began burning and I curse these stupid things, but Lila made me feel special.
She liked my eyes and I know she's just a kid but that made me feel special...not some weirdo. "What's your superpower?" She rips some grass from the ground and throws it.
"I don't have one," I explain and she shakes her head.
"Every Avenger has one." Lila messes up the word 'Avenger'.
It sounded a bit more like 'A-vendor'. "Well, I don't... don't tell anyone but I'm not really an Avenger," I whisper as if it's a secret.
She gasps a little bit, "But you have to have a superpower! My dad is really good with a bow, I wanna be just like him!" I nod in understanding.
"I guess if you consider that a superpower then that is my superpower. But, I can fight like your aunt Nat too." She smiles at me.
"Really!? Did my dad teach you? He says I'm too small!" Lila crosses her arms across her small body.
"No, I taught myself...based on his techniques. So; in a way, he did teach me." She surprises me by hugging me.
"You're nice! I'm gonna call you aunt Ad!" I pat her back with a smile on my face.
"You do that kiddo." I ruffle her hair lovingly.
