A mile after the first trial,they decided to rest for a bit.

Rose sniffed the air eagerly and ran off.

Curex hovered around,staring at the autumn leaves and trees.

Nobody decided to make a small fire since she felt cold.

Using a piece of flint she found and half of a blade she had brought,she manage to make a small flame.

Rose appeared shortly carrying two squirrels in her mouth.

"I'm really sorry squirrel!"Nobody said as she skinned them and cooked them over the hungry flames.

"Why didn't you show the same pity with the rabbit?"Curex asked,tilting his head.

Nobody stared at him intently.

"I've been watching you're every move."Curex raised his eyebrows.

Oh yeh the ball of light thingy.

Nobody shrugged and watched the flame flicker in the wind.

After a squirrel lunch(Curex said he doesn't need to eat)they continued again,jumping across small trickling creeks and crossing old ancient bridges.

Then they arrived upon a large river that flowed around the islands.

It's waves were choppy and rough,weird for a river.

Suddenly,Curex gave a shriek as small drops of turquoise blue blood dripped from his eyes and mouth.

A very large crocodile had come to shore,it snapped at them and started snarling.

Rose snapped back even though she was clearly shaking in fear.

Then the crocodile stood up.

It was easily 30 feet tall.

Nobody wondered how fast all three of them could run.

Then it SPOKE.

"I am Scales,the Guardian of the River and the second trial of the Great Wizard.Answer this riddle and you may past!"

"Oh great another one of these."Nobody rolled her eyes sarcastically even though a pang of fear punched her in the stomach.

"SILENCE!"The crocodile snarled baring its dagger like teeth a at them.

"This is the riddle:
What can run but cannot walk,often murmurs but never talks?Has a bed but never sleeps,has a mouth yet never eats?"

"Oh but that's easy."Curex rolled his eyes(since his eyes were white Nobody didn't really know if he did roll his eyes)
"I've heard that before from someone back in the Land of Good.I never forgot the riddle or the answer."

"Well then?"The crocodile raised a scaly eyebrow.

"The answer is the river of course."Curex smiled.

Scales sighed,"That is correct."

He lay himself across the shore to the other side of the choppy river.

"You may pass now."He growled.

The trio hesitantly climbed across his scaly back,once reaching shore,Nobody waved bye to Scales as they continued their journey.

Soon after,the air started to feel a little bit hotter....

They walked a little more and soon the ground was getting so hot that Nobody could feel it through her shoes.

"Hey.....d-do you feel that?"Nobody's throat was parched even after a swig of water.

"I don't feel anything.I got dunked in radioactive slime what did you expect."Curex sighed.

"Hello."Someone whispered.

Nobody whipped around.

In front of them was a girl,about age 16,with flaming red hair.

"I am Cinder.Guardian of the Flames,answer my riddle and you shall leave."She said in a voice full of melancholy.

"It is left by something that can kill creatures almost instantly.That is your riddle."

"Hmm what can be left by something that kills things....."Curex wondered as useless answers swam in his mind.

Nobody was dizzy,the heat,the lack of water,even Rose was feeling it too.

Before she knew it,she was falling into a dark abyss.
