Beginning thoughts

Not going to lie, I was confused at first at the storylines, then I realised they were short stories set in the same world. This is a me problem, okay?

Blurb

Loved your blurb. It tells me what the book is going to be about but also leaves me wanting to read the book to find out more and what happens. A very interesting premise with the state of the world and everyone's response to it.

Story

Besides the arc with Aureus, the other stories are not linear to each other despite taking place in the same world. I do not have much to say about the stories other than the fact that I've enjoyed a lot that I've read so far and found them to be so different despite sharing similar themes.

Writing

Writing was very good. It set the tone of the book and was very descriptive and emotive. I did however find it a bit telly at times and saw a small use of redundant words (such as was). It might also need a look through for any minor edits or a reword here and there, but other than those things I loved your writing style.

Characters

Not going to talk about any character specifically, but I will say that each character felt different from each other and unique. Some gave me chills, while others sad. I understood how they were and part of their motivations, and I enjoyed reading them.

Setting

I really love the worldbuilding shown here, especially with the Unseelie and Seelie. I do wish I got to see more descriptions of the world around the characters to show the similarities and contrasts to the other areas (not all parts had this problem, just some for me).

Overall

I found this to be an impactful and interesting read and will try and continue to read it to the end. I am reviewing it now because I felt like I have read enough to make the review.
