THE STAR CLOSEST TO THE MOON
If only she knew this world would come to an end
They would all pretend
She would have no friend
Then she wouldn't have had a broken heart to tend
If only she knew that life's not all smiles forever
She wouldn't have trusted liars so clever
She wouldn't have left her heart to be played with, never
Now that moment of truth she has to savour
If only she know that her life's not as perfect as a love song
She would've remained strong
She would've realised, in this world she doesn't belong
Now what's happening to her is oh so wrong
If only she knew how to painlessly die
She wouldn't live all those endless nights to cry
She wouldn't have eyes that never seem to dry
She's never been defended, and she doesn't even try
Now she bares it all and never asks why
If only she'd learnt how everyone one else learned
She wouldn't have had nights where she just tossed and turned
And flinched when she touched skin that had been burned
She would've lived a life she deserved and had earned
But since there was no one to tell her why
Those endless nights all she does is cry
Flinches when she touches the skin they burned
Lives the opposite of the life she earned
Still trusts those evil liars so clever
Has to savour the truths that have bittersweet flavour
Does nothing for defence and is vulnerable as ever
She doesn't say anything; she knows the day shall come soon
She shall be the star closest to the moon
Looking down at them who made her life a living hell
Even after all the torture, her kind soul wishes them well
