Chapter 4

LEO POV

I was wondering through the woods, then along the side of the lake. I was so bored, thinking of the most random things. I thought back to when I was in the big house with Annabeth, Piper, Jason and Chiron. It went like this:

"Since you guys are part of the suppose-able 'seven', we need the think about the future. That's why I need you to convince Percy. Since he is an Olympian I have no right to send him anywhere: on quest or what-not," Chiron spoke first.

"We already tried that Chiron, I told yo-" Jason got cut off by Annabeth. "Chiron. He won't say yes unless we find someone he doesn't know very well/'innocent looking'," Annabeth proposed her answer.

Suddenly everyone eyes were on me, like I had to convince him.

"Oh Nonono, What about piper she has charmspeak?" I hurriedly said in hope of it not being me.

I think you can guess what happened after that. Piper was apparently 'not qualified enough' to charmspeak a god and the fact that Percy would see straight through her.

Back to the present. I don't think I can do it, to be real. I'm not that talented and the guy intimidates me so much! He's scary a dude. He's not only got a resting bitch face, he is like what- 4-5 inches taller than me? He's pretty much taller than Jason.

As I walked away from the lake, I heard giggles coming from Percy's cabin. It sounded like two young children: a boy and a girl. Then I heard something like: 'I got you!' In a voice that sounded like Percy's, but much friendlier and calming. I peaked round a bush of some kind, and saw Percy on the floor laughing, with Isabella the new camper, on top of him.

"Oh no! You got me," Percy said sarcastically, that stuck his tongue out and closed his eyes, pretending to be dead. The other boy (I think Isabella's new Hermes kid friend Victor) was trying to yank Isabella off of Percy, like some kind of knight. This made me laugh a little. Percy at the moment seemed like a cheeky little ass of a guy, kinda like Annabeth described him.

When Isabella was finally yanked off Percy, Percy sat up and shook Victors hand. "Good work, young soldier," He nodded while Victor looked extremely pleased with himself. "Okay guys! I have had loads of fun with you today, but I need to go now. Hope you have a great day, safe travels back to the Hermes cabin, warriors!"

"Byeeee," Isabella said giving him a big hug followed by Victor. As they finally got out of earshot, Percy turned round and looked me dead in the eyes.

SHIT

"What the fuck do you want, Leo," He spoke so sternly I couldn't believe that was just him.

"I uh- just heard people and wondered over?" I was technically telling the truth.

"I'm not going on the quest with you," He then strode away before I could say anything and shut his door. I tried opening it, but it was locked.

"UGH," I was so pissed, and no idea why. This guy did not know what he was doing, and how crucial it was for him to come. I suddenly felt suspiciously warm, then realised I was on fire.

"Fuck you," I muttered as I relaxed myself. Then the flames went out.

ANNABETH POV

I was sitting in a tree, reading a book. As casual as you can get really. At least for a daughter of Athena. Except at the moment I wasn't one. I was more of a Aphrodite kid. I knew my mother was dissatisfied with me for acting like I did, but it was the best way - for me - to cover up the grief that came with Percy choosing immortality over me. I thought we had something special. I liked him for goodness sake!

But I'm always someone's second choice. My father chose my step mother. Luke chose Kronos. Thalia chose the hunters. And he chose immortality. I felt like a used toy, never someone's first choice, but instead was a backup, just in case the first choice-toy breaks.

Hot tears spilled from my eyes onto my book. I closed it and looked up into the clear-blue sky. I could imagine my mother being disappointed and it crushed me. She would always love my siblings more than me at this rate, but it's like alcohol/drugs. Once you start it's hard to stop, it's the feeling of being trapped inside your own mind. Like I was always locked up in the very thing that's supposed to me the biggest comfort for you.

The truth was I still loved him, if it wasn't obvious enough. Other love interests were just me trying to distract myself from him. Now he was completely different. He once cheeky ass smile gone, like the bright green glow he gets in his eyes. He seemed more mature I guess you could say, and less childish. I missed the old Percy. The ache in my heart was unhealthy. The countless days I would spend feeling like I was missing something, I really missed him Iland I didn't realise.

JASON POV

Holy shizzle.

My mind was all ver the place: going from things like Perseus going onto the Argo II and whether the missing camper was okay in the Roman camp. I decided to to the dock, to clear my mind. As I got nearer, I realised there was someone already there. I could make out small features like there raven-black bed head and tanned skin.

As I got closer I realised it was Perseus. He was looking down into the water and probably didn't realise I was here.

"Hey uh- Perseus," I sat next to him gently.

He chuckled, which caught be of guard. "Just call me Percy, man. No need for being so sophisticated," he was grinning at me, which was a good sign I caught him at the right time.

"Sorry, I'm just used to having to respect gods and stuff," I smiled back.

"Don't worry about it! Anyways, what brings you to my lake, Roman?" Now I was laughing. "What? You called me Perseus, you are now: Roman." I laughed so hard for no reason at all. It felt nice, even if it wasn't that funny.

He started laughing with me; his laugh was something else though. It was completely different to his usual tone. His laugh was more upbeat than a death stare, no emotion tone.

"I guess I was just bored, Evandar- all mighty Olympian," I knew I had hit him hard when I said that.

"Dude, what?" His emotion was hard to make out, it was bubbling with all kinds of different expressions, as if his face trying to pick one. "How the fuck you know that?"

"You didn't think the gods wouldn't tell us about you, did you? Of corse they introduced you as Evander not Perseus.

"Huh, that's cool," he smiled. Before I could react he tapped my arm saying 'it' and sprinted off down the edge of the lake. I ran after him, gaining on shoulder. Then I knew what I had to do.

I was only half a meter or less away from him now. I took a leap of faith towards him and landed on his back, him slowly stopping. He was now giving me a piggy back.

"Dam, good jump dude," Percy said.

"IT BITCH!" I then jumped off of his back and sprinted back the way we came. I started flying away as fast as possible.

"OH OKAY THEN. GAME ON!" I turned my head back to see a giant blast of water coming my way. Next thing I knew I was in a pile of leave, drenched head to toe. "Ha!"

I clapped my hands slowly in defeat. I got up and the leaves were stacked to my wet body. I started picking/brushing them off. "Hold still, Jason," I was suddenly dry  and all the leaves were falling off.

"Huh?" I looked at his face then back at my body.

" I just took away the water, not that big a deal," Percy said. "Anyways my turn for a piggy back!"

This chapter was slightly shorter than the others, but I think a pretty decent size. I hope you like it! It may have been a bit late but I can't care less at this point. If you like my story please comment or whatever to show your appreciation. It makes me feel special 🥲
