She walked back to the Mercedes Benz as the security detail followed her closely behind her as their eye scanned the area while their ears listened for anything out of the ordinary. The lead security detail grabbed the door back door her as she lid into the back and then he closed the door behind her. She peered out the window, knowing all too well her father's enemies from the gun running would after her and Emilia that's why she would have to outsmart them somehow. Still, there was the matter of Eric, Jennings and Holiday that she would have to deal with later.
As they drove down the narrow streets of the city, Elizabeth peered out the window, thinking back to when she was a teenager in Berlin at the Military base she vaguely remember seeing a girl there with her father but at that time she wasn't sure. Still, she wanted and needed to know why her father kept Emilia a secret from her. There had to be a reason for it, whatever she.
Wished she could ask him,but she had no idea where her father was?
Her burner vibrated in her tailored business suit. She down, glanced at the encrypted number on it,that sent a chill running down her spine. Antonia, she thought to herself. Why in the heck he would be calling her and what he did want from her? She lifted the phone to her ear before she spoke. "Antonia, what do you want?" she inquired in a skeptical tone.
"Elizabeth, I want to meet at your office and then I want What was promised to be by your father," Antonio scowled on the other end of the line.
"I don't even know what you're talking about, Antonia, and I haven't seen my father for years, "she snapped.
"I'm outside your office waiting. Why don't we just have a nice meeting and see where things go Elizabeth," Antonio stated, ending the conversation on his satellite phone.
Elizabeth placed her burner back into her pocket in her suit. All that she could remember was that her father had partners when he was running guns out of the Berlin Military base, could Antonio be one of his partners. Still, she didn't know what had been promised to him by her father. Well, if he wanted to meet her, she would give the meeting and then the time came to have him eliminated. But she was sure he had his men with just in case she tried something?
A little later they arrived back at her office, pulling up to the front entrance doors of the building. The security detail stepped out as their dark eyes scanned the surroundings while their ears listened for anything out of the ordinary. From their peripheral they spotted a shiny black limousine parked across the street. The lead detail nodded to one of the armed men to open the door for NightShade.
Elizabeth climbed as the security detail agent closed the door behind her, then she made way over to the front entrance where she saw Antonio standing inside the entrance waiting for her. She walked in through the revolting automatic doors into the lobby. Antonia was amazed and surprised at how Elizabeth had grown the last time he had seen her when she was a teenager.
They strode over to the elevator as they rode up to the twenty floor. They emerged and headed down the corridor to her office. Elizabeth walked behind her as she sat down in her behind it and nodded for Antonio to have across from the desk and he did so. He glanced at all the photographs on the wall and admired them.
"Elizabeth, I guess your father never told you that I was his partner in the gun running business," Antonio stated in a calm and cool tone sounding non threatening.
"Like I told you over the phone Antonio, I haven't seen him in a long time and whatever he promised you that's between you and him," She remarked in a demanding tone.
"Don't be coil with me Elizabeth, You know what I want and that is to do business with Dragunov," Antonio snarled in a threatening tone, as he rose and slammed his fist down on her desk.
Elizabeth without hesitation drew her Silver Desert Eagle from her shoulder holster and aimed the barrel at Antonio as her finger rested on the trigger as she says. "Don't you dare Threaten me. I have killed people before who try to take over my business or think they can do business with the Russian Mafia."
"What about Emilia, do you want something bad to happen to her now? Antonio inquired in a calm tone.
What was Antonio up to she thought to herself, as she placed her semi-automatic 50 caliber pistol on her desk and then replied." If you do anything to my cousin, I swear I will put a bullet into you myself."
"Then, I suggest you arrange a meeting for me with Dragunov," Antonio told her as he exited her and headed down the corridor to the elevator.
Elizabeth picked up her pistol and slipped it back into her shoulder holster. If Antonio thought he could do business with Dragunov he had something coming. The only reason she had stayed business with the Russian Mafia was that Dragunov liked how she ran her operation beside the Damon Bryant lose end. And that was going to be handled soon, she knew.
Antonio emerged from the elevator and made his way out of the lobby and through the entrance as he walked across the street over to his limousine. He'd known that Edgar had traveled to Russia to meet Dragunov. He figured that he couldn't if he couldn't do business with him, he could dispatch a team of assassins to kill him. Leading to out all war in which he would gain power from and profit.
Elizabeth reached down and opened the second drawer where she had kept her satellite phone and snatched it up as she entered the encrypted secure digital number for her boss in Russia. She had an awful feeling that Antonio couldn't be trusted not knowing what he was capable of doing plus, if he decided betray Dragunov she was sure that he would dispatch his assassins after him and they would put him into the ground. She lifted her phone to ear.
Dragunov reached into his pocket into his Tailored made European suit and pulled out his satellite phone as he glanced at the number and saw that it was NightShade. He lifted the phone to his ear and spoke. "Elizabeth, is everything ok with our gun running operation, or did something happen that I need to handle soon?"
"We might have a problem Mr. Dragunov, Antonia Decarlo wants to work with you and he thinks it's what my father promised him. What do you suggest that I do about this problem," Elizabeth inquired.
The bullet proof armored Mercedes Benz drove the gate as it, opened it, Dragunov looked over at Edgar and rubbed his chin as he says. "Nothing, yet let's see what this Antonio is about first and then I decide if we need to kill him or not."
Elizabeth ended the conversation on her satellite phone as she placed it back down on her desk in her office. She glanced over at the photograph on the wall of her and father when they were in Berlin at the military base wondering where he was now? Right now she needed to focus as the disc was still in the hands of that journalist and protected now by Eric the Red and Jennings. Things were about to heat up now for her, but now was she in control of everything.
She sat down behind her desk and typed in her password on the screen of her computer. Within seconds a file appeared on the screen, she scrolled up to the file code-name Light strike and clicked on it.
Location: Berlin, Germany
Operational status: The operation at the base has been abandoned and shut down. The CIA station chief believes Dallas NightShade and his crew were involved in an ambush on their way back to the base. The crates of weapons from the base there has disappeared, leaving no trace.
After a while, she closed the file on the screen as she wondered why that operation had been abandoned. She couldn't think of anything in her mind right now. Her father was like an enigma to her, never explaining things to her. Leaving her questioning what he really did?
