Chapter 15: Safe
Over the next few days, I started to understand what Bill was saying. I tried to stay away from my alternet twin, but that was near impossible. She was always around every corner and was the one to get me if I was needed.
One day, I was finally saved.
There was a flash outside my room and the door slammed open. "Kayla!" Mabel yelled. A smile broke out on my face. "Mabel!"
"Come on," she said, grabbing my arm. "We've gotta get you out of here!"
We both ran out and found Reverse Bill and Dipper, who was on crutches, waiting for us. "Won't they find me?" I asked.
"Don't worry," Mabel said. "The whole dimention and time traveling and teleportation thing is a mess right now with the portal broken."
"Hey!" Someone yelled behind me. We both turned to see reverse me. Her eyes were red. "Get back here!" She grabbed me by the arm, but her touch burned my skin. I screamed from the unexpected pain. She yelped too and let me go. Mabel took the advantage and dragged me over to where Reverse Bill and Dipper were.
The next thing I knew, there was a flash and we were back in the Mystery Shack. My arm was still burning, but I was too relieved to notice. Mabel grabbed me in a bone crushing hug. "We were so scared that you'd be dead!"
I hugged my friend back. "Don't worry," I said, a little out of breath. "I'm fine."
Mabel finally let me go and Dipper smiled at me. "Nice to have you back." Then his face turned serious. "We should take a look at that." He pointed to my arm. I looked down to find it was smoking. I put a hand over it, but it didn't really help. Reverse Bill led me to a chair and I sat down as he examined it. He used some of his power to heal it. "Just as I thought," he muttered.
"I know," I said.
"Know what?" Dipper and Mabel asked at the same time.
Reverse Bill turned to them. "Well, you see, her powers and her alternet self's powers are so similar, yet so different, that they cause a reaction. It's like when you put two different chemicals together." He made a gesture of something exploding with his hands.
Mabel's eyes widened. "Why doesn't it do that when you're around Kayla?"
Bill shugged. "Probably because our powers are too different. The combustion is the same with Bill and me. When we're close together for too long, things like this happen and our powers go haywire."
I nodded. I looked down at my arm. "Thanks, Bill."
"Call me Will," the dream demon said.

Everyone else had gotten used to the idea of there being multipal versions of themselves throughout the house. Me, not so much. I ran into Caleb on the way to the twin's room where I was staying with a few other people. He just kind of smiled.awkwardly and waved. I did the same.
Mer-Mabel was combing through her tangled mass of hair in a giant fish tank in the middle of the room. She glanced over at me and smiled. "So you're alive."
I nodded. "I'm guessing the beds are taken?"
She shrugged. "Mabel's got her bed and Dip's taken the other one. Kayla, at least from my dimention, sleeps outside no matter what, so I guess the floor's all yours."
"Isn't it uncomfortable in there?" I asked, pointing to the tank.
She shrugged again. "It's nothing like the one at home, but it'll do."
"So all the girls, well except for the other me, I guess, are in here?"
Mer-Mabel nodded. "The guys are in Soos' old break room."
"His break room?"
Mabel shrugged. "Long story."
I nodded. "Okay."
I spread out my sleeping bag on the floor along with my pillow. While I was doing that, Dip walked in. Her head was buried in a book. She was muttering umder her breath, but I couldn't catch what she was saying exactly.
"Dip's been trying to figure out why all the Stan's are gone and why were all here."
"Along with the other me's," Dip said, glancing up from her book. "We figure that it's something to do with the Cipher's."
"The Cipher's?" I asked. "But the Bill of this dimention's too weak to even escape the mindscape."
Dip shrugged. "I don't know. We've all been having pretty weird dreams with Bill in them."
"Wait, is Bill a boy or a girl in your dimention?"
"Girl," Dip said. "But we call her Billy. So it's easier just to say Cipher."
"And I'm guessing Will's on our side?"
Dip nodded. "Apparently. But you can't be too sure."
I nodded. After my many encounters with Bill, I knew I'd never fully trust Will, no matter how sad he may seem. I was a sucker for sad people. I always want to make them feel better, no matter who they are.
Dip sat down on her bed, which was the Dipper's from this dimention's, and drew her knees up to her chest. "Why are all the Stans missing?" She started to mutter to herself again. I glanced at Mer-Mabel, who shrugged.
~Author's Note~
Writer's block is so much fun (note the sarcasm)
I don't really want to have constant action, but I can never write chapters without it. It's really hard!
So, yeah, might have some action next chapter
