Chapter 12: Hard Knock Life
After what felt like hours, days even, Demon me opened my door. "Get your butt over here," she said.
I crossed my arms. "And you wonder why I'm so reluctant to do anything for you."
I'd wrapped up most of my more severe cuts by tearing strips off my sweatshirt and wrapping them around it.
I stood up, limping because something had happened to my leg, and walked out of that cell. I felt freedom for about three seconds, then Reverse me grabbed my arm to make sure I wouldn't run away.
I was taken to a big room where some of my other friends were. All of the Dippers where there along with all the Mabel's. Only Reverse Bill was there, and Dragon me was nowhere to be seen. Reverse me dropped me by Mabel and she wrapped her arms around me. "What are we gonna do?" She asked me.
"I-I don't know," I admitted.
I looked over her shoulder at Dipper. He was holding his leg with a pained look on his face. He saw me and put on an extreamly forced smile. "I'm fine," he said, his voice strained.
Mabel let go of me and crossed her arms. "You're not fine!" She said. "My clone broke your leg! Why can't boys just learn to admit when they're hurt?"
Dipper rollled his eyes and winced. Now that he said something, I did notice that his leg was sticking out at a weird angle.
Dip, Marco, and Caleb were all huddled in the corner across from us. I couldn't imagine how they felt, which was weird, because I was kind of Caleb. I mean, they were wisked through this portal and then thrown into this? Yikes!
Mer Mabel was sitting on Deer Dipper's back. She didn't look too good. We had to get out of here, fast, or she might not make it.
A door slid open, and Reverse me was dragging Dragon me behind her. They'd muzzled her and tied her wings, hands and feet together. She was probobably the most dangerous out of all of us. Her nostrils flared and her eyes burned, literally. I could see little green flames dancing in her emerald green eyes.
Reverse Dipper came in the middle of the room and smiled. It didn't quite reach his eyes. "Hello, friends," he said in a fake sweet voice. "I hope y'all have enjoyed your stay here. You've all been most helpful to our cause."
"Let us go," Dipper said. "You've got what you want."
Reverse Dipper turned to him. "Yes, I think we do have everything. But if we let you go, that may spoil our plans."
"So you're just gonna keep us cooped up in here forever?" I asked.
Reverse Dipper shrugged. "It depends."
Suddenly, Mer Mabel started coughing. Not little ones, the the choking ones you make when you're being stangled. All attention turned to her. Deer Dipper looked like he was about to have a panic attack. "Mabel!" He turned to Reverse Dipper. "Please! Haven't we already payed enough? Are you really going to let her die?"
Reverse Dipper sighed and snapped his fingers. "Fine," he said. He snapped his fingers and Reverse Bill appeared. He looked just as jumpy and sad as usual. "Save the mermaid." Reverse Dipper said carelessly.
Bill, too, snapped his fingers. A large fishbowl appeared with watter already in it and Deer Dipper helped his mermaid sister in the water. She sighed and breathed in heavily.
"Now," Reverse Dipper said, crossing his arms. "I have better things to do then talk with you losers. I'm leaving Bill in charge." He turned to Bill. "If any of them try to escape, do what you do. If not..." he let that theat hang in the air. Revetse Bill wimpered and looked like he was trying to melt into the floor.
Reverse Dipper disapeared with a flash.
Bill looked wided-eyed around the room. Tears pooled in his eyes. "P-please don't make me have to hurt you," he squeaked.
"Why'd he leave you in charge?" Reverse me asked. "I'm obviouly the more powerful one!"
Bill cowered at Reverse me's glare. "Y-you can have my job."
Reverse me smirked. "Well, obviously. She turned to us. She'd encased Dragon Me in her power and even she couldn't escape. "All right, everyone on there feet!"
All of us except Mer Mabel and Dipper stood up. Reverse me glared daggers into him. "I said, on your feet."
"Well, it might have escaped your observation," Dipper said through gritted teeth. "But your master broke my flipping leg (I don't swear, but you can read it as a swear word if you want to)!"
Reverse me lifted an eyebrow. "What? You expect me to pity you?" A small laugh escaped her mouth. Then her face went stoney. "To your feet."
Dipper glared deeply at her and leaned against the wall for support. He stayed off his broken leg and stood up. I could see sweat poring down his face. A small cry escaped his mouth. Mabel supported her brother so he wouldn't fall over.
"No," Reverse me hissed. "Let him do it himself."
Mabel hesitated, then let go of her brother.
Reverse me slowly floated over to Dipper, her face deadly calm with a small frown. "I expect my orders to be followed the first time, kid."
Dipper crossed his arms, leaning on the wall for support, but didn't say anything. He simply glared at Kayla.
She stopped when her face was mere inches from his. They had some sort of staring contest, then Kayla grabbed Dipper by the job. "You know, its too bad your my enemy. You don't have too ugly of a face."
I could've puked. I knew she was the opposite of me, but really? Really?! Dipper of all people? He smells like he hasn't showered in days (okay, I guess it makes sense right now, but five years ago...just saying). And we're friends! Think of like your best friend right now who your not dating. Yeah, its like that. Okay, I'll admit, Dipper's not unattractive, but still.
Dipper looked surprised and disturbed as well. Kayla put a foot on his broken leg and slowly pushed it into the wall. Dipper yelped in pain. Kayla dropped his chin and ramed her elbow into his side. He fell hard to to ground. She put her foot on his back. "Like I said, too bad your an enemy."
Dipper was panting hard and tears slipped out of his eyes.
"Anyone else feeling the need to talk back?" Kayla asked, looking at each of us.
Silence.
