JANUARY OF 1992

Little Esther Ruth sat in front of the large window in the empty living room. Her whole family was there; her mother was taking care of the new baby and her father was playing music for the other kids. Esther Ruth just wasn't interested in music like her siblings.

Instead, a soft sigh fell from the five-years-old's lips as she looked out the window. She gasped and jumped up, pressing her face and hands again the window- seeing snowflakes fall to the ground. Esther could remember her mum telling her about the snow when they moved to the states.

"It's snowing!" Esther exclaimed, a smile coming to her lips.

Her father chuckled, "That it is, my darling."

Esther spun around quickly, grinning at her family. "I wanna play in it!"

Her mum started, "Baby-"

"That's a good idea, darling." Her father nodded, smiling at the young girl. Then he smiled over at his eldest child, Rebecca. "Why don't you take her outside, Bec? It'll be fun for you kids."

Rebecca nodded, and within minutes she and her father had all the young ones in coats that were donated. Esther Ruth flapped her arms, playing in the coat that was much too large for her. Each of the kids giggled, playing in their coats or waiting by the front door.

"Be careful!" Their mum called as Rebecca opened the door and the kids sprinted out into the cold.

Rebecca looked back to her mum and smiled, "We will."

Then Rebecca was out the door and closing it, keeping her and the kids out in the winter wonderland. Rebecca smiled, feeling the cold air for the first time since being in America. She exhaled, seeing her warm breath in the air.

"Wow." Rebecca laughed.

Luke screeched, being hit in the face with a cold snowball thrown by his twin, Esther. Each of the kids looked over at the twins, giggling away at Luke's red face. Esther squealed, running away from her brother as he picked up a fistful of snow and chasing her.

That night in January of 1992 was the first night that Esther Ruth had experienced the cold winter of America.

TWENTY YEARS LATER

Esther Ruth stepped off the small stage, her diploma in her hand. She couldn't be happier, seeing as she worked hard for the past four years and it was paying off. Her family couldn't be prouder. However, her twin and fiancé were unbelievably proud of Esther.

First off, Luke and his wife, Courtney and her fiancé, Cameron approached her first. Luke squeezed his twin into a hug first, listening to her squeals and giggles.

"I'm so proud, Esther Ruth." Luke whispered, squeezing her one last.

Esther grinned, "Thank you, Lukey."

Luke seemed to groan at his nickname from when they were just little toddlers. As she pulled from the hug to smile at her brother, she gently tugged on one of his infamous curls, listening to him groan again.

Just then, Courtney pushed past her husband, hugging her sister and quietly congratulating her on her achievements. Then it seemed after that, that her fiancé gave her the biggest hug.

Esther had nuzzled her face into Cameron's neck as his arms secured around her waist. He grinned, kissing her cheek.

"Congrats, baby." Cameron stated, "You've worked so hard."

DECEMBER OF 2011
SEVEN MONTHS LATER

Everyone in the church stood and stared at the doors as Esther made her appearance in her stunning white dress. This day was her and Cameron's day; the day they said I do to one another.

As the bridal song continued, Esther stepped down the aisle in time with the soft music. Slowly, the song came to an end as Esther stood on the alter with her soon-to-be husband.

Today was easily one of the biggest days of her life; besides her graduation earlier that year and the birth of her future children.

Cameron reached forward, gently grasping for Esther Ruth's hands. He smiled softly at her.

"You look more stunning than I have ever seen," he whispered, causing Esther to blush slightly.

"Thank you, Cam." She muttered, looking up at him.

Minutes later, both tears of happiness and laughs of humor were shared, but Cameron's and Esther's attention never left each other. Both of their eyes sparkling as they stayed focused on the other.

"I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride," the pastor had stated.

Not even a moment later, Cameron had wrapped his arms around her waist and they shared their first kiss as a married couple. It was just like Esther had imagined- better than any fairytale she had dreamed, and this was hers.

Cheers erupted as the two pulled back, and the two were now Mr. and Mrs. Cameron Harper.

Now those were Esther Ruth's happiest moments since her life completely changed when she moved to a different country. Esther's life was great, and happy.

Everything was amazing; her family was happy and healthy, she loved her job, and she had just celebrated her fifth anniversary with her husband.

But that was all before her world came crumbling down before her, and she could no long turn back and redo it.

There was no turning back for Esther Ruth. She couldn't even expect it.
