"Here's lunch kids," Zuko set bowls of rice with veggies on the side for them to eat. The twins traded their veggies not liking the amount of what was on their own plates.

"What are you two adventurers doing out there today?" Zuko sat with them with his own lunch.

"Our friend Kuzon stopped by," aito smiled excited.

"Ah the young traveler right?" Zuko nodded remembering hearing the name. They get a lot of refugees and people that travel around this village, it wasn't odd to hear his sons make small talk.

"Yes! Hes awesome papa," ren perked up and aito motioned him to show their father.

"We get to meet some pretty cool people, just remember to stay in view of home right?" Zuko reminded them and they both nodded.

"Cause any further and we might get kidnapped," aito said matter of fact as ren rolled his eyes.

"Too bad we don't meet any kids like us," ren pouted. "Kuzon is like the youngest guy we meeting,"

"How do you know he's young? He's like papas age," aito questioned.

"I'm not that old guys," Zuko told them unamused.

"Hush old man," ren put his hand up.

"Eat your lunch, I'm old so I'm also the boss," their father pointed and the twins huffed but ate their lunch.

"Papa did you travel a lot like the people that are 'round here?" Aito asked as he politely ate his meal while ren was messy.

"Oh yea, I traveled since I was thirteen, up until you kids came around," zuko smiled at their curiosity.

"Duh he's like royalty, royalty get to see the world!" Ren said with a mouth full.

"Actually I never left the palace because I was royalty, I got in really big trouble and they sent me away, grandpa came with me to make sure I was okay," zuko explained.

"Where did you go papa?" Aito gasped in awe.

"I went everywhere but i didn't like it until I made some really great friends I actually got to enjoy it, I even met the two great dragons with the avatar, the first fire benders," zuko grinned, the twins looked like they had sparkles in their eyes as they listened to their father.

"Can I meet them papa?" Ren asked holding his spoon.

"Ha maybe when you both are older, they protected by the sun warriors," he took a bit of his own lunch.

"Like from our bedtime story?" The gold eye twin smiled brightly.

"They're real," he nodded.

"Can I go play? I'm all done!" Ren held up his empty bowl but his mouth was full of food. Aito looked at him grossed out when food went flying.

"Go for it, stay close so aito can find you when he's done," Zuko nodded.

"Don't hide the ball this time!" Aito yelled when his brother raced out the door and stomped down the stairs.

"He's so loud," the blue eye twin mumbled.

"For how loud he is.." aito mumbled the rest under his breath as Zuko raised a brow.

"What are you saying baby," Zuko bugged his son.

"For how loud ren is he didn't tell you his big news," aito announced and Zuko tilted his head to the side not understanding.

"Ren was going to tell you big news but didn't," aito pouted.

"Do you want to tell me?" He raised a brow.

"I can't he made me promise," the boy shook his head.

"Ok I'll ask him later then, you don't have to tell me," Zuko let it go. If neither of them were hurt and not hurting anyone then it can wait.

"Where else did you go?" Aito asked still curious.

"Kid I've been almost everywhere, me and your mom traveled the world just for fun before you were born," zuko got excited a little thinking about his life in the past, even though they never had a roof over their head or a bed to sleep in, traveling on appa and seeing whatever they could think of was a different life style.

"You traveled with my mom?" Aito perked up wide eyes.

"I.. yea, we traveled together for a long time," Zuko said slowly not realizing he slipped up.

"Did you love each other?" The child asked bluntly.

"Yea, we were very much in love, she was my best friend," Zuko stroked the back of aitos head gently and aito leaned against his father smiling.

"How did you know you were in love?" He asked looking up with the eyes of his mothers.

"Because she just made me feel complete," zuko tried to explain but didn't want to put an idea in the boys head about his mother.

"How did you know you loved her though?" Aito asked as if he was trying to know more.

"Hmm, well I really hate dancing, and your mom learned that she loves dancing, she learned in the fire nation actually, she never got to dance for most of her life, but I danced with her cause I knew it made her happy, even though I didn't like it," the fire bender explained and aito listened patiently.

"You dance with me and ren sometimes," aito mentioned.

"Because I know it makes you two laugh and I love my boys very much, that's just love," zuko explained with a smile, he didnt think he could love anything as much as he loves his children, there was so much pride, and joy, and peace when he looked at his kids. He wanted them to only know what it felt to be loved by their father.

"You don't talk about our mother, why?" Aito kept pushing for more.

"Cause I was very sad when she left, I was very hurt but I understand your curiosity ai, it's okay to ask about her," he sighed softly in acceptance they're at that age.

"Where did you meet her?"

"Umm, well that's more complicated,"

"Papa help!" They heard outside and Zuko immediately shot up and ran to the window to see why ren was yelling.

Aito stood on his toes curiously looking out the window but Zuko was already booking it out the door and downstairs to his son. Aito gasped a little seeing five men, they looked like earth benders, one was holding onto rens arm. The other four were towering over another.

"Kuzon!" Aito yelled surprised and ran out the door to follow his father.

"Papa wait up!"
