CHAPTER EIGHTTEEN: PREMIERE CRASHERS

September 13, 2002

   It’s now September, and No Rules’ debut CD, No Rules, was released a few weeks earlier. So far, it’s a big hit in Britain at number 4. There are plans to release a different version of their debut CD. As for their single, Get Someone Else, it was a big hit. Now NR’s promoting their third single, Tell Me Now. In North America, their single, Energized, was moderately successful, but it’s a huge hit on Radio Disney.

   NR are at a premiere party for their new TV series, Dare 2 Dream. They were to premiere their TV series in a few days on BBC1 and CBBC.

   As NR entered a hotel where the premiere party was held after taking pictures, skate5 and BG6 walked on the carpet!

   Earlier in the morning, No Rules just premiered their music video, Tell Me Now, on MTV. In the music video, NR are in competition with a group of seven teens. There was a video chat and a dance-off. At the end of the video, NR wins.

   Both BG6 and skate5 saw the music video. They took it as an offense, like it was directed at them. Knowing that NR were attending the Dare 2 Dream. premiere party, they decided to crash it. 

  Now it’s evening, and both BG6 and skate5 arrived at the premiere party in their designer party clothes. As they walked on the red carpet, they saw each other.

   Kimmy asked in an irritated tone, “What are you little kids doing here?”

   Sean replied angrily, “We’re not little kids! We’re 13!”

   “Yea, by the way you lot dress and sound, you look like a bunch of 10-year-olds.”

   Rhys said, changing the subject, “I’m guessing you lot saw that No Rules video this morning.”

   Kimmy replied, “Which is why skate5 and I are confronting those More Rulers. They totally dissed us!”

   Sean argued, “No! They dissed BG6! So we’re gonna confront them!”

   Jake asked Kimmy while both gritting teeth and smiling, “Kim, is this why we’re here?”

   Kimmy replied, also gritting teeth and smiling, “I’ll tell once we’re inside.”

   Then she turned to the press, paparazzi, and fans in a normal, cheerful tone, “Hi, buy our music! Keep listening to our music!”

  Then skate5 walked away, leaving BG6 quietly fuming. Soon, they walked away, plugging their debut album and latest single.

   Libby told Kimmy, “That was a shameless promotion.”

   Kimmy said, “Shut up.”

   Jake asked, “Anyway, why are we here, crashing No Rules’ premiere party?”

   Kimmy looked around, and saw a stage. Then she grinned evilly.

  A few minutes later, NR went onstage to perform their three singles and the show’s theme song, All Around the World. Just as they were about to sing, skate5 came on stage. Hannah W. exchanged puzzled looks with Jake. BG6 also went onstage, which almost pushed NR off the stage.

  Jake mouthed to Hannah W. “This is Kimmy’s idea, not mine. Once again, sorry. And we didn’t invite BG6.”

   Hannah nodded her head.

   Kimmy grabbed Edward’s microphone, and started talking, “Okay, we’ll let More Rules, I mean No Rules, sing. But we just want announce that our fourth CD will be released next month. It’ll be filled with fun dance-pop, just like Steps and A*Teens.”

  Sean then grabbed the microphone from Kimmy, “Oi! Don’t buy skate5’s music. Buy our music! It’s fun, and you can piss off your school’s headmaster by blasting it in detention!”

  Edward then borrowed Ashley’s microphone. He laughed nervously, “Okay, this is our night. Erm, that was just a mood lighten act thingy something. But tonight is No Rules’ night, so buy our music. It’s very different from all the other British and Swedish bands. And I’m sure our music can be blasted in all British schools.”

   Then Edward took ‘Kimmy’s/Sean’s’ microphone, and whispered, “We need to talk afterwards.”

   Kimmy and Sean nodded their heads.

  After about 30 minutes, No Rules met with skate5 and BG6 backstage. Edward asked angrily, “What the hell was that?”

   Kimmy asked in a fake innocent voice, “What was?”

  Ashley said angrily, “Crashing our party, then crashing our stage, and interrupting us from singing!”

 Kimmy responded angrily, “Well, apparently karma’s a bitch cuz that’s exactly what happened a few months ago when you Rulers took over our concert!”

   Kelsey asked the NR members, “Wait, you took over skate5’s concert?”

   Hannah W. beamed, “Yea, it was fun.”

   Edward asked, “So I’m guessing this is your ‘revenge’ or something, yeah?”

   Kimmy replied, “Yeah, pretty much.”

   Ashley said firmly, “Look, you’re not gonna upstage us.”

   Sean asked, “Well, what about your rubbish music video that just came out this morning?”

   “The Tell Me Now video?”

   “Yeah, that! That group of teenagers you competed against was directed at BG6, yeah?”

   Kimmy asked, “What are you on, Harrison? That was directed at skate5!”

  Then Sean and Kimmy got into a yelling match. NR were confused to what’s going. So Edward asked, “Okay, hold up! What’s going between skate5 and BG6?”

   Hannah T. bitterly replied, “Kimmy totally trashed us the day she and skate5 met us.”

  Rhys added, “They met us backstage after we opened for BubbleGum in January for the Rio de BubbleGum tour.”

   Hannah W. said, “Yeah, that’s Kimmy for you.”

   Hannah T. asked, “You mean skate5 dissed you too?”

   Edward replied, “Yeah, which is why we took over their concert. And as for the music video, we had no say whatsoever. We were just given the storyline, the choreography, and that was it. We didn’t think it was a reference to either skate5 or BG6.”

   Ashley said, “Like I said, none of you will upstage us. So get over yourselves, and we move on with our lives.”

  Edward added, “And I’d suggest we keep this skate5, BG6, and No Rules rivalry under wraps. Otherwise, our fans and the media will find out that we hate each other. So I’d be careful what you do.”

   With that, Kimmy gave a smirk and left.

 Jake said with sympathy, “Once again, sorry for everything. Kimmy’s idea, not mine, not the others.”

   Matt told him off, “Seriously Jake, shut the f*ck up!”

   Chelsea added, “Yeah, if Kim finds out that you’re defending More Rules, she’ll kill us.”

  Libby, getting irritated, said, “OMFG, you lot are so afraid of Kimmy’s yelling fits. It’s not like she’s gonna beat the living snot out of you.”

  Then the skate5 members realized that both BG6 and the NR members were watching the whole thing. Even some of the NR members snickered. So the skate5 members left, and the NR members went back to the party. BG6 also left.
