Missing You

For at least one hour I had been sitting in the backseat of this car listening as Sam and Simmons repeatedly recited Jetfire's little riddle. The first few times were fine with me, but after I counted past thirty two I was done. I would remember these words for the rest of my natural life.
Currently we were driving down the road only I hadn't a clue as to where we were headed. I sighed and looked out the small window beside me. There was nothing ahead of us except road, sand, and mountains. I absolutely despised being out in the middle of nowhere, but there was nothing I could do about it at the moment.
My mind shifted to Ironhide and a sad feeling coursed throughout my body. I was really beginning to miss him, but that was nothing new at all and it was probably what I deserved for leaving like that. I always missed him when he was gone and it only got worse and worse every time. Getting used to him being there and then him leaving was always hard for me, but it was understandable; he was my very best friend, my happiness, my lover, and my mate. .not to mention sometimes he was also the cause for my biggest headaches, but I loved him anyway and that would never change.
There was just a small part of me that wished I had stayed back at the base, but I knew I needed to help my friends. He would definitely kill me when this was all over but I didn't really care; as long as I was back with him, I'd be perfectly fine whether he wasn't speaking to me or just yelling at me which he normally did when I did stupid shit. That was only because I wasn't some little wuss who ran off crying when somebody started yelling at me; I always fought back no matter what the situation was. It always made us stronger, though I really didn't understand how.
On the other hand, the past two years with him had been two of the best years of my entire life. Nothing has changed since then. He gave me someone to love, someone to care for, and someone to fight for. He's shown me what it's truly like to be loved and I had never in my life felt so strongly for another being; nobody understood my feelings for him except for Ironhide himself. I would do absolutely anything for him and it still didn't matter to me that he was a giant robot either. It just made us all the more interesting and never in my life would I care what anyone had to say about my relationship with him.
I loved everything about him. He was a grumpy brute, a hard ass, and a little cocky at times but he was also a sweetheart and I wouldn't dare change that about him. He did everything in his power to make me feel loved and to keep me safe. There was no one else I felt safer with than with him. I loved him because of who he was and that would never in a million years change.
If something were to happen and for some reason I were to lose him, I didn't think I would be able to handle it. Losing him would be like losing half of myself and I definitely did not want to go through the pain of losing him. It would definitely be far much worse than any pain I had ever felt, without the exception of losing Braelynn of course. It was just something that I prayed I would never have to endure. I didn't know how long I would be able to survive without him.
Sadly, I was ripped away from the thoughts of my wonderful mate only for my ears to be filled with the loud voice of Samuel Witwicky.
"Okay. Let's go over it again," he stated.
I groaned. Not again.
"When the dawn alights the Dagger's Tip, three kings will reveal the doorway," both he and Simmons recited in unison.
I sighed and sat up in my seat.
"That's what he said. Do you know what it means?" I asked.
Sam shook his head. "No, what does it mean?"
I shrugged. "I have no clue."
I now noticed that we were coming to what appeared to me as a paybooth. Leo stiffened beside me and it wasn't long before he began freaking out.
"Oh my gosh guys. Checkpoint. I don't have my passport!" he exclaimed as we pulled up to it.
I clamped a hand over his mouth and pulled him to me, just hoping that he would shut up for once. The car came to a stop and I stuck my head out of the now open window and looked up in the stand to see a small man surrounded by many bigger men. The sight of a camera caused my eyes to widen ever so slightly and I sat back in my seat, hoping I wasn't seen. Leo mumbled into my hand and I let him go.
"What's wrong?" he asked me.
"They have cameras. If Sam and I are identified then we're screwed."
Sam groaned from the front seat. "Oh shit." The small man was now walking closer to the car.
"Alright ya'll. I can handle this. These are my people," Simmons said.
Wheelie popped up in the front seat. "He's a freaking munchkin. Little people are mean. Tell him he's tall," he spoke.
I snickered at him. The small man ran a finger across the side of Bumblebee's alternate mode before finally stopping at Simmons' window, uttering a phrase in a language that I did not understand. Simmons greeted him.
"The Dagger's Tip. Egypt, Jordan; we want to go there. Me and my family. This is my family. This is my son, my daughter, my other son, and his girlfriend," I made a face at that. "We're tourists from New York."
The little man's eyes widened with excitement at his final sentence.
"New York?"
Simmons nodded and the two of them exchanged words before the men by the gate opened it up. We were motioned to go through and in seconds Bee took off for the big city.
After what seemed like hours of driving through the city, we stopped in a secluded sand field which lay directly in front of a small rock formation. The five of us got out of the car and it was only now after being in an air conditioned car for a few hours that I finally realized how hot it was outside.
"What are we supposed to do now?" Leo asked. Sam walked over to the rock and started climbing. Simmons followed closely behind him.
"We climb," Sam answered me. The Autobots transformed and I groaned.
"You mean we have to climb up there?" Mikaela asked, a tone of disapproval in her voice. Sam and Simmons were already halfway up and Leo had now started.
"I'm so sick of this shit," I grumbled.
Before I knew it, I was being lifted. I heard a squeal come from Mikaela as Bumblebee lifted us up the small rock wall. He placed us safely onto the ground before he, Skids, and Mudflap started climbing up too. The boys had managed to finish climbing and Sam walked over to stand beside the two of us.
"We need to hurry. Come on," he said and began running to the small building that stood about five hundred feet in front of us. Mikaela, Leo, Simmons and myself began running after him.
"You gotta be undercover yo," Skids whispered.
The ground rumbled slightly as the Autobots ran behind us.
"You gotta blend in with your surroundings. You gotta be part of the landscape," he continued. I turned around just in time to see Bumblebee knock Skids to the ground. I let out a loud laugh and turned back around. I was slightly amazed with the incredibly large pyramid that sat behind the building, but the one thought that came to my mind was 'Had aliens built this or not?'.
"Oh. Awesome. Aliens built that," Simmons said from behind me.
At least he answered my question.
I heard a loud snap and turned around to see that Sam had managed to break the lock that was on the building door. Simmons rushed me inside behind Mikaela.
I stopped and looked around the small area. It had an ancient type feel to it but other than that it was just like a small house. It had a small sitting area with one large couch and two chairs. The back side of the building was slightly open and I could see the base of the pyramid very clearly through the back door window. There was another sitting area out there as well, only this one was much more extravagant than the interior one.
I sighed and walked over to the back door. After opening it up, I climbed up the small flight of stairs that led to the sitting area. I sat down on the beautifully patterned furniture and looked out to the city in the distance.
A city full of people, living their lives happily while I was in Egypt running from an evil Decepticon who was after revenge and my body. The thought absolutely repulsed me. I didn't know how I managed to get myself into this.
Hopefully this matrix thing worked to bring Optimus back to life. Going on all of these adventures were fun, but they were fun for all of the wrong reasons and I needed Optimus back to finish this. I needed my life back. The only thing that would make this situation better was if Ironhide were here with me. Missing him was killing me and I hated it.
The sound of the door opening caught my attention and I turned my head to see Sam and Mikaela walking out. The two of them walked up the stairs and over to me. Sam sat down on my left side and Mikaela on my right.
"Figured we'd find you out here," Mikaela teased.
"What are you thinking about?" Sam asked me.
I sighed. "Starscream wanting me, the matrix working on Optimus, and missing Ironhide."
"Starscream isn't going to get to you, the matrix is going to work, and you'll see Ironhide soon enough," Sam assured me.
"What makes you so sure of that?"
"Well, first off we're with Bumblebee and the twins. Bumblebee isn't going to let anything happen to you just like he won't let anything happen to Sam, me, Simmons, and Leo for that matter. The matrix is going to work just because. It's a good thing you said something because I'm almost positive Sam wouldn't have thought about it," Mikaela laughed.
Sam pouted. "I could have if she would've given me a decent amount of time."
I chuckled. "We don't have the time, Samuel. If anything, I would like for this damn war to be over at least before my kids graduate from high school," I teased him.
He gave me a serious look. "Can you even have kids?" he asked.
I raised a brow. "Yeah? I'm a girl. We're built to have kids."
He shook his head at me. "No. You know what I mean."
I perked up in realization. "Oh. Well if you were even remotely listening to what Simmons told me back at the meat store, then yeah I can."
Mikaela laughed. "I can respect that."
I smiled at her.
"Look. I have something to say to you Azalea," Sam said.
I looked at him. "What?"
"I just wanted to thank you for coming back for us, back for me. It's only now that I realize that we really couldn't have done this without your help so thank you so much," he told me.
I smiled and hugged him.
"I know we have only known each other for a few days, but I already consider you family. You, Mikaela, Simmons, and even Leo," I laughed as I let go of him.
"Well, it is very possible for a group of people to become exceptionally close when they're running from alien robots together," Sam joked.
I stood up, a feeling of tiredness in my body. "That couldn't be truer."
"Where are you going?" Mikaela asked me.
"I think I'm going to head to sleep. I'm feeling really tired and plus, why not give you two your alone time. You haven't had any since we've been gone and after dealing with all of this I think the both of you deserve some relaxation time for just the two of you," I told them with a smile.
Mikaela smiled at me. "Thank you," she told me.
"You're welcome."
I walked back down the stairs and back into the small building. Leo and Simmons were sitting on the couch talking and I walked over and sat down beside them. There was no way I was going to sleep in one of those chairs.
"Hey Lea. What are you doing?" Leo asked.
I smirked and laid my head down on his lap. He stiffened under me and I heard Simmons laugh.
"I'm going to sleep. Is there a problem with that?" I asked and closed my eyes.
"Um, no. It's fine. Go ahead and sleep," he told me.
I just chuckled and before long I was drifting off to the soft sound of Simmons's and Leo's voices.
*Please vote and comment. It'd mean so much to me. I wanna know what you guys think.*
