Goodbye For Now

*I don't own Transformers or anything affiliated with Transformers. I only own my original characters and plots. All rights go to Michael Bay and Steven Spielberg.*

I could feel the warmth from the evening sun burning my bare arm. My body shook slightly and I assumed that someone was attempting to wake me up. Slowly, I opened my eyes, looking around at my surroundings. I was still in Ironhide's cabin, but we were no longer moving. Out the windshield, I could very vaguely make out the trees and the familiar clock tower. It didn't take me long to figure out that we were back at Princeton and I frowned at the realization.

A loud yawn escaped my mouth as I sat up. I turned to see Ironhide standing at the door, staring at me with an amused expression. Whining, I held my arms out to him, my silent way of asking him to carry me. He chuckled and grabbed me, pulling me out of the truck before sitting me down on the ground. I frowned again.

"Why'd you put me down?"

"You have to carry these bags," he told me.

"Yeah, so get to stepping," Adalyn exclaimed as she tossed one of my suitcases at me.

I groaned and grabbed it, securing it tightly in my hand. It didn't even occur to me how many suitcases I had brought home with me.

"Do you need any help?" I asked Ironhide as he pulled my other two bags from the bed of his alternate mode.

He shook his head and started walking towards the dormitory. I opened the back door and grabbed my purse before throwing it over my shoulder, beginning the walk towards the ever so familiar dormitory. After about three minutes of walking, I finally made it up the stairs and into my dorm room. Adalyn and Ironhide were standing in the middle of the room. I threw my bags down on the floor, definitely not looking forward to unpacking them. In all honesty, I would probably just leave them like they were and take them with me during spring break. The only problem with that would be the lack of spring clothes packed inside them.

"Thanks for leaving me to fend for myself," I huffed as I plopped down onto a beanbag chair.

"It isn't our fault you're slow," Adalyn retorted. She was now putting up her clothes. I didn't understand how though. I was abnormally exhausted and all I wanted to do right now was sleep. I was just so thankful that classes didn't start until Monday.

The door to our room burst open and Leo walked in with Sam on his tail. I groaned.

"What do you guys want?" I inquired.

"We noticed you were back so we came to see you guys," Leo answered me.

I raised a brow and stood up, going to stand by Ironhide who wrapped an arm around my waist.

"And how did you know we had come back?" Adalyn asked him.

He sat down in the chair that I had previously been sitting in. "We have a peephole," he simply stated.

I blinked and Ironhide grunted. "You are still such a fucking creep, Leo. You too, Sam," I exclaimed.

Sam just laughed and sat down beside him.

"We were lonely. There was nothing else to do," he remarked.

I rolled my eyes. "You're lucky I don't bash both of your heads into the wall."

"Lea, it's about time for me to leave," Hide spoke.

I frowned. This was the part I was dreading about coming back. I turned back to my friends and grabbed Ironhide by the hand.

"I'll be back in a little bit. Please try not to break anything," I instructed the two boys and Adalyn.

Ironhide pulled me out the door and I held on tightly to his hand as we soon approached his alternate mode. I leaned against the side of it and looked at him, a frown on my face. He smiled at me.

"There's no need for that frown," he told me.

He was right though. In just a matter of four days he would be back here. He had promised me that he would come to see me every other week if he was to busy with NEST missions or Autobot business. It made me happy, but leaving him still made me incredibly upset. It made me quite paranoid, actually. The last time we said goodbye to each other, I didn't get to see him or even talk to him for three whole months. Those three months felt like years to me though and it literally broke me. When I finally got to be with him again, I was with him every single day of the week, whether he was down at the base or not. I grew accustomed to being around him again and now that he was leaving me again, it just made me slightly upset. It was one of the reasons I hated college; I was away from everyone I loved for such a long period of time.

"I know that, but still. Last time I said goodbye to you, I didn't get to see you for months."

He placed a hand on my cheek.

"I promise you I'll be back on Monday. If nothing related to the Decepticons ensues, then I will for sure be down here to see you, Azalea," he assured me.

I smiled. "You promise?"

He chuckled. "I promise, kid. Just four days. I'm sure you can go that long without me. You've achieved longer."

I punched him lightly in the abdomen but he only laughed at me.

"I'm going to miss you, Hide."

He pulled me into his arms and planted a small kiss onto the crown of my head.

"I'm going to miss you too even though I'll only be gone for four days," he replied matter-of-factly.

A thought immediately popped into my mind. "You know what? I forgot that I had a car. I could have drove myself here. How could I forget I have a car?" I laughed.

He pulled away from me.

"Don't worry about it. Your parents made a special trip down here the other day. It's in the parking lot," he informed me.

"Okay good."

He smiled at me before planting a soft kiss onto my lips. I smiled into the kiss and wrapped my arms tighter around his body, never wanting to let go of him, but sadly, the kiss was cut short and I was left to stand and frown at my Cybertronian mate.

"That isn't fair."

He gave me one last peck before finally pulling away.

"You could have even more once I get back," he smirked.

"You Cybertronians are so perverted," I teased.

He just shrugged and kissed me one last time. "I'll see you in four days, Lea. Stay out of trouble, will you?"

I nodded and released him from my hold. "Only if you do the same for me?"

He gave me a knowing look. I should have figured.

"Goodbye for now, though. You know how to reach me if you need me," he claimed as he stepped towards the driver's side door.

I nodded again, silently thanking the president for enabling my connection to his communication link.

"I love you, Hide."

"I love you, Lea," he responded as he hopped into his true from.

I just smiled and turned around to head back to my room. The sound of his engine could be heard behind me and I turned around just in time to see the black Topkick disappear from my view.

I quickly ran into my building and headed up the steps to the second floor. My room soon came into view and I pushed the door open. Sam and Leo were still in their same spots on the floor, only now they had the TV turned on and Adalyn was still shoving clothes into her dresser. Sam caught my eye and smile at me. I returned the gesture and walked over to my bad, plopping down onto the comfortable mattress. It had been quite a while since I had laid down on this bed, and for some odd reason, I actually missed it.

"So, how is everything?" Sam asked me.

I smiled, a feeling of absolute comfort flowing into my body.

"Everything is good, Sam. I feel good for once, like everything's going to be okay now," I answered him.

I meant every word I said though. These past few months have been nothing short of crazy, stressful, and not to mention very depressing. But everything was fine now. I had my entire family back; I had my Ironhide back, Sam and Mikaela had Bumblebee and Wheelie back, the Decepticons took off to God knows where which meant that Sam and I were safe for now and aside from that, I had my life back. Everything was more than okay for me and I planned to keep it that way.

*Please vote and comment. It'd mean so much to me. I wanna know what you guys think.*
