Just when I thought this couldn't get much worse, it did. The fighting was only growing stronger and I was only growing weaker. I was thirsty, tired, injured, and literally covered in my own blood. I didn't know how much longer I could take of this but I refused to give up like I did last time. The Decepticons would not beat me this time; I refused to let it happen.

I couldn't believe that I was here right now, but there was also no place I'd rather be. I just wasn't happy with the fact that the Decepticons had gone so low as to bring my mother into this. And her aloneness made me very worrisome for my baby sister. I didn't have a clue as to where she was or what they had done to her and the thought of my innocent baby sister in the hands of one of those vile creatures made me so sick to my stomach.

Never in my life had I experienced anything like this. The base attack back in 2007 didn't even compare to this, of course. Decepticons were everywhere and there was twice as many here in Egypt than there had been back in Washington and this time I was being hunted.

I knew I still wanted to be in the army, but the sight of all of this just made me cringe at the thought. On TV I watched wars and different battles take place, but this is the first real time I had ever endured an attack of this magnitude. I honestly didn't know how my dad or Ironhide did it. This was horrible and heart breaking to say the least, but my main focus right now was getting to Optimus and bringing him back.

Helicopters flew overhead as the battle ensued and I watched in horror as every single one of them was shot down. There were so many explosions happening in front of my face. Decepticons were being shot down and I could very faintly see as some of my dad's men were shot down as well. I clenched my fist, hoping my dad, Epps, Hide and the rest of the Autobots were okay.

Sam, Mikaela, and I ran over to hide behind the ruins of a house. The pain in my arm was growing by the moment; I gripped tightly on to my bleeding arm. Taking a deep breath, I focused myself. I was beginning to feel slightly faint but I refused to let that stop me.

"Azalea, are you okay?" Sam pressed.

I nodded. "Yeah. I'm going to be fine."

He sighed and soon enough I heard the familiar sound of Elita One's voice. I turned to see her rolling over to us. Behind her was Chromia, Arcee, and Ironhide. I perked up at the sight of him; all I wanted right now was to be back in his arms.

"We've spotted Sam and Lea!" Elita One called.

"Sam! Azalea!" I heard Ironhide call, a tone of anger in his voice as he yelled my name.

Elita One and the other two twins rolled over to us. "Follow us to the pillars. We'll take you to Optimus," Elita One spoke.

My relief was short lived when the three of them turned back around. Elita One let out a cry as she was shot and I screamed loudly; Chromia and Arcee were shot down shortly after. Ironhide was now shooting at a giant tan mech.

"Both of you, get out! Get to the pillars," he commanded.

I am so dead when this is done.

Sam, Mikaela, and I began running towards the pillars as they had pointed out to us. If this wasn't over soon, I was surely going to collapse from amount of blood loss.

There were more and more tanks and helicopters advancing onto the battlefield. Sam pulled us further and further onto the field.

We ran right into the middle of the gunfire, only focused on the soldiers in front of us. The gunfire was deafening as well as the clashing metal. We ran the length of the pillars, Sam waving his jacket to signal our location.

"Hey!" he yelled.

"Sam and Lea! We've spotted Sam and Lea!" Sideswipe called as he shot at the Decepticons behind us.

There were so many explosions. Buildings were up in flames while dust, debris, and sand was flying everywhere. I couldn't believe the sight.

Mikaela grabbed onto my hand as a series of explosions shook the ground behind us. Bright lights lit up the field and we were thrown into the sand. Sam stood up and waved to the soldiers while Mikaela and I stayed on the ground. We crawled in front of a bush and the next thing I knew I could see my dad and Epps running over to the ruined corner of a building.

He peeked out from behind it and gestured us over. I got up and ran over to him as quickly as I could. He reached his hand out to me and I grabbed it before he pulled me behind the structure with him, holding me protectively. Sam and Mikaela soon appeared and crouched inside the corner.

"You better have a good reason for us to be here. And Azalea, you just wait," my dad exclaimed angrily.

Sam stood up. "Where's Optimus?"

"He's right over there across the courtyard," my dad answered.

"I have to get to him right now."

My dad shook his head. "No. We have an airstrike coming."

"I have to get to him right now!"

I looked at him. "Sam. Just wait."

He sighed and sat back down. My dad stiffened and looked at me before looking down at his jacket which was now covered in blood. He stared at my arm.

"What happened?" he pressed.

"Nothing. I'm fine," I lied.

"Lea-" He was cut off by the sound of a low growl. He looked up quickly before pushing me further back into the corner.

"Come on. Get back," he instructed Mikaela and Sam.

I squealed as there was a sudden explosion behind me. My dad wrapped a protective arm around me and another shot sounded. The ground rumbled behind us and I smiled when I heard the sound of Jetfire's voice.

"Behold the glory of Jetfire!"

The sound of metal slicing metal caused me to cringe. I slumped down at the sudden faint feeling. My arm wasn't bleeding anymore but I had still lost a considerable amount and I wasn't properly hydrated; that wasn't a very good mix. My dad shot me a quick look.

"Lea, are you okay?" he whispered.

I just nodded and watched as a Decepticon flew over my head and began ripping its way into Jetfire. Metal sparked and parts flew as Jetfire ripped the bot from his body. He fell to the ground and delivered a swift blow to the Decepticon's head, killing the being instantly.

"I'm too old for this crap," he muttered.

My dad turned to us. "We're going to make a break for the beach on my command. You guys stick with me. You stay on my ass," he commanded us.

"What a wise choice in words," I muttered. He shot me a look. The sound of jets could be heard in the distance and Epps sighed.

"I hope those FCC's got good aim," he spoke.

"Yeah? Why's that?" my dad asked.

"Because I told them to hit the orange smoke." I looked over to my right to see orange smoke flying up into the air and my eyes widened.

"You mean that orange smoke?" my dad retorted as he grabbed tightly onto my hand.

"It wasn't my best toss, okay?" My dad sighed.

"Run!" Epps yelled.

My dad pulled me up abruptly and ran with me across the field. Epps held on tightly to Mikaela's hand and Sam ran freely, gripping the sock filled with dust in his hand. The planes flew over head and before long the ground began shaking immensely, explosions sending sand, rock and other debris into the air.

The familiar grunt I heard caused me to turn around. My heart caught in my chest as I saw Ironhide running, his chest on fire. He met my eyes, giving me a look to let me know that he was okay. I nodded at him and turned back around, focusing on what was in front of me.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw Sam remove himself from our little escape group. My eyes widened when I realized what he was doing.

"Sam!" my dad yelled.

He just ignored him and continued running towards Optimus. My dad lowered me to the ground and Epps soon joined us with Mikaela. I watched as Sam proceeded onward towards Optimus but shot up slightly when I saw Megatron raise his gun to him. He fired the weapon and soon Sam was flying through the air. I wriggled out of my dad's grip and stood up, as did Mikaela.

"Sam!" we both yelled as he hit the ground, his body immediately going limp.

The pain in my arm and my lightheadedness was instantly forgotten as the two of us ran over to him, ignoring the gunfire and explosions behind us. My dad and Epps yelled our names but we never once stopped running. I slid to one side of Sam while Mikaela went over to the other. Before I could get a good look at him, my dad grabbed me and threw me gently onto the ground behind him. I got up quickly though and crawled back over to my previous spot.

Sam was lifeless. His face was covered in dirt, bruises and blood, and his clothes were torn to shreds. I could already feel the tears running down my face.

"Do something!" Mikaela cried to my dad.

My dad tried CPR on Sam but it didn't work. Mikaela was ready to pull her hair out of her head and I was just left there to stare at my friend. I could hear his parents' pained cries as well as Bumblebee's. Before I knew it, my dad was pulling me away from Sam. I kicked in his arms but his hold didn't weaken.

There was now a crew of medical workers surrounding Sam. I watched hopefully as they tried to revive him. They did CPR again, and they even used a defibrillator. My eyes dropped when the rescue person shook his head and I cried out. My dad's grip on me loosened and I removed myself from his arms before running back over to him. The tears flowed out of my eyes as I looked at my broken friend.

"Listen to me, Samuel. I didn't runaway from my dad and Ironhide just to watch you die. You have to open your eyes. Please! You're my best friend, Sam. I can't lose another friend like this! Please wake up, Sammy," I cried.

Mikaela placed a hand on his cheek.

"Listen to my voice okay. I love you and I need you! Please come back to me, Sam! I love you!" she exclaimed as she grabbed my hand.

I let out a sob as the sock slipped from his hand. This couldn't be happening. Just when I had found a new person to care about, they were ripped away from me. This wasn't fair. My third friend, lost at the hands of the Decepticons. I honestly didn't know how much more of this I could take.

I leaned my forehead on Sam's chest and cried, but jumped up in surprise as his body jerked. Suddenly, he inhaled and sat up, his hand immediately going to Mikaela's face.

"I love you. I love you," he whispered to her.

She let out a happy cry and my eyes were wide. He turned to me and pulled me into a one arm hug. I sighed in relief and hugged him back.

"Thank you so much, Lea."

He let go of me and winced before grabbing the matrix. I hadn't even realized it had materialized. He stood up slowly and limped over to Optimus. Mikaela pulled me up from the ground and the two of us inched over to him. He climbed onto Optimus' body before letting out a cry and plunging the matrix into Optimus' body. He climbed down quickly and stood between Mikaela and I.

Optimus' body jerked and I jumped back slightly. A cough sounded from Optimus and he began to get up slowly, a series of grunts coming from his mouth. He knelt down and looked at the three of us. His blue optics shifted between Sam and I.

"Children, you returned for me."

"A living Prime. I don't believe it," Jetfire belted.

Before anyone else had the chance to respond, there was a ripple in the air and suddenly Optimus, Mikaela, Sam, a number of soldiers, and I were on the ground. The bot I had seen on my TV placed a pede on Optimus' torso before taking the matrix from him and flying off into the sky.

Sam got up and so did Mikaela, but I stayed on the ground, clutching my arm tightly with my hand. It was bleeding again and I was feeling fainter than ever.

"Optimus! Get up," Sam demanded.

"Get up, Prime!" Ironhide yelled.

I mustered up the strength to stand up and walk over to my dad and Epps who were in front of Ironhide and Ratchet. Yelling and gunfire could be heard behind me but I was far too focused on this pain to pay attention to it. It was only until Jetfire spoke again that I turned around. He was slowly moving towards Optimus.

"I never did a thing worth doing until now. Optimus, take my palliates and you will have a power you've never known. Fulfill your destiny," Jetfire exclaimed.

I gasped as he reached into his body and pulled out his spark. He fell to the ground with a thud and Ratchet stepped forward.

"Jolt, electrify."

Jolt attached himself to both Optimus and Jetfire. Before I knew it, Optimus was up with a new armor.

"Let's roll," he stated before taking off into the sky.

A sudden wave a lightheadedness hit me and seconds later I could feel myself falling back down to the ground and suddenly I was surrounded by my dad, Sam, Mikaela, Epps, Ironhide, and the remaining Autobots.

"Please tell me what happened to her," my dad seethed.

"Skids and Mudflap were fighting and she got caught in the middle of it. She cut herself on Mudflap's fender trying to get out of the way. I wrapped her arm to slow the bleeding but it hasn't stopped all together. I already know she's going to need stitches," Mikaela explained to him.

I heard Ironhide grunt and then I was being pulled into a strong pair of arms. It was his lesser form.

"I swear to Primus I'm going to throw those insolent twins into a trash compactor."

"You're going to get blood all over you," I squeaked. He yanked the wrap from my bleeding arm and I whimpered.

"I'm going to kill you, Azalea. I hope you know that," Hide growled.

I frowned. "I know. I'm sorry."

I was feeling lightheaded and very tired; not to mention I was incredibly dehydrated. My limbs were trembling ever so slightly. I was losing too much blood.

"Ratchet," he called.

There was a cool hand on my arm. "She's dehydrated and seems to be losing quite a lot of blood," he spoke.

Hide grunted. "Obviously."

My eyes were beginning to close but a light smack on my face caused me to open them back up. Sam, Mikaela and my dad were in front of me. Epps stood behind them.

"Keep your eyes open, kid."

Ratchet was messing with my arm and I frowned at Ironhide. "Don't hit me, Grumpshit."

He smiled at me. "You're definitely in for it when this is over," he chuckled.

I let out a squeal as something pricked my arm. Ironhide held me steady as I tried to move away. I began to feel an overwhelming amount of exhaustion in my body.

"Did you just give me sleepy shit?" I grumbled.

"Yes. I have plenty of work to do and you need to be insensate for it," Ratchet stated.

I closed my eyes slightly and felt myself being lifted up.

"Still the same insubordinate little girl you were two years ago," I heard Hide say.

"But you love this little girl," I said softly as I looked up at him.

He chuckled. "I do, but this most certainly doesn't mean you're off the hook."

I closed my eyes again.

"I'm just glad to finally be back in your arms."

He squeezed me and continued walking. "And I'm more than relieved to finally have you back in them."

I smiled and before long I was drifting off into a deep, yet now peaceful sleep.
