Chapter 8~ Bludgers, Bones, Birthdays and Bonfires
Teddy fumbled with the small slip of parchment in his hands. It had been weeks since Ivey Dolohov had given him the address of her uncle and he still shuddered every time he glanced at it. Nevertheless, it hardly left his mind.
11 Gorac Lane, His mind pounded. 11 Gorac Lane, London.
“Teddy, can you start on your potions essay already?” Rowel’s irritated voice snapped him out of his thoughts. “It’s due tomorrow and all you have is ‘The Sleeping Draught causes severe…’ That’s it. If you want a bad grade, fine, but you’re making me want to finish for you!”
Teddy grinned, sheepishly, before throwing his hands behind his head and kicking up his feet onto the table. “Sounds like a deal I might agree to.” He sighed, his eyelids drooping.
Rowel grunted in disapproval. “You have Quidditch practice in, what? An hour and a half?” He shoved Teddy’s feet off the table and, glared at him. “I can talk to Lyon about a substitute keeper for the big game against Gryffindor.”
Teddy’s eyes whipped open but he shook his head in disbelief. “Lyon barely knows you, Rowel.” He muttered, collectedly.
“Hm,” Rowel said softly. “You do have a point.”
“Exactly,” Teddy yawned, attempting to put his feet back on the table. Rowel intercepted his action and shoved his feet of once again.
“But I can talk to Professor Brindyhook.” Rowel hissed with a hearty laugh. “It’s no secret you have a T in every course.”
Teddy shot his friend a look. “T’s not a real grade!” He accused, loudly, pointing a single finger at Rowel’s nose.
Rowel just sighed, took Teddy’s hand, and moved it away from his face. “It stands for troll.” He said in satisfaction. He clucked his tongue in mock disappointment.
Teddy rolled his eyes, but decided Rowel was a threat to his Quidditch career. He picked up his Sugar Quill and held it centimeters from the parchment before feeling a light tap on the shoulder. He beamed at Rowel, glad to have a distraction.
“Teddy, Teddy, Teddy!”
He turned to see Abigal’s glowing smile as she plopped into the seat next to him, bouncing on the balls of her feet.
“Yes?”
“Are you ready for Quidditch tonight?” She asked, punching the air.
Teddy nodded and laughed. It still stunned him that someone as cheery and kind as Abigal could be so tough on the pitch. But then again, she had been that tough with Meggie. Whatever this conversation was about, it definitely wasn’t just practice.
“What’s up?” He asked, skeptically, turning away from his parchment.
“Well, my birthday’s coming up and I wanted it to be special since I’m turning sixteen.” She said breathlessly.
Teddy blinked at her. Sometimes she could be so strange.
“It’s a Muggle thing. I heard about something called a Sweet Sixteen in Muggle Studies yesterday.” She beamed and handed him an envelope.
Teddy glanced at Abigal as she gave him a nod to open it. He slid his finger through the slit and pulled a card from the inside. On the front there was a dancing leprechaun singing squeakily above the bold words “YOU’RE INVITED!” written in pure green glitter. He opened it up, afraid something might spring out at him from inside.
You’re invited to Abigal and Dustin’s Sweet Sixteen!
When: March 17 at 7 p.m.
Why: My Our birthday!
Who: Me and Dustin
What: A Bonfire party
Where: We don’t know yet!
How: By partying all night long!
Teddy stared at the card, amazed and confused. No one at Hogwarts had birthday parties. Of course, there was the occasional Death Day party for the ghosts or a small get together in the dormitory but a real party? It didn’t seem like something Teddy would be interested in.
“I can’t go.” He said bluntly.
Abigal shot him look of full of fiery. “Where are you going to be on St. Patrick’s Day?” She demanded, blowing at a stray strand of hair in front of her face much like an angry bull.
Rowel let out a laugh as Abigal whipped towards him and threw him an envelope.
“I just find it funny,” Rowel chuckled, picking up his own card. “That you don’t see that your boyfriend chooses not to go.”
Abigal looked from Teddy to Rowel and back again, her green eyes darkening with sadness. “Are you for real, Teddy?”
“Oh wait, I can go! I forgot that I…yeah, I can make it.” He stuttered, cracking a crooked smile.
Abigal’s face lit up as she pulled Teddy into a hug. He was surprised to find her stroking his hair tenderly. As she let go, Teddy couldn’t help but feel let down.
His relationship with Abigal seemed to be stuck in the mud, not moving forward. It angered him to know that half of the fifth years had no idea they were together. He was sick and tired of watching other boys flirting with her. With a jolt he realized there were only two places his relationship could go – marriage or a break up. He blinked, not quite knowing what he wanted. He didn’t love Abigal and he knew it. He wasn’t ready to make up his mind on that, but there was still one crucial question that needed answering. Was he doing this for the title? Or the reputation?
Teddy shook his head quickly. He was only sixteen. Why was he thinking of marriage? That would be years away…countless years. Yet somehow he knew that Abigal wasn’t truly his soul mate. Would she ever be? He would have to wait and see. She was a good friend. A great friend. He wondered what Abigal thought of him – probably just another boyfriend she would throw to the wind. But he wasn’t ready to let that happen yet.
“Of course I’ll go. I wouldn’t miss it for anything.” Teddy told her, clasping her hand quickly.
Abigal looked at her hand in shock and pulled it away.
“Sorry,” She whispered. “I guess we’re even now. I was just surprised is all.”
Teddy glared at her, feeling heat rising in her face. “You just hugged me!”
Abigal cocked her head, her face full of sympathy. “What do you think this is Teddy?” She smiled sadly. “We’re just friends.”
Teddy was taken aback. “Since when?” He demanded.
Abigal laughed sweetly. “Aw, Teddy, since you lied to me about Meggie.” She patted him on the back. “I broke up with you, remember?”
“No, no you didn’t.” Teddy said firmly, clenching his fists until his knuckles were white. “Rowel just said that I was your boyfriend and you didn’t object!”
Abigal shrugged. “I did. But I guess you can keep telling yourself that!” She giggled. “I just thought Rowel was kidding.”
Teddy glared at her as he rolled up his parchment and stood up. “I’m going to get ready for practice.” He muttered, resisting the urge to slap Abigal across the face.
Abigal’s green eyes scanned the lines of Teddy’s face. “We – we could always start anew.” She suggested. “I can forgive you.”
“Look, you just said we were friends and now you want to get back together?” Teddy snapped. “I don’t get you! Am I just something you can turn on and off? You never broke up with me!”
Abigal stood up and gazed into his eyes. “You’re right – I never should have broken up with you.”
He stared at her in disbelief. “No, I’m saying you never did break up with me. But maybe you should have a long time ago.” He turned on his heel and stalked away his mind racing.
Did Abigal have short term memory loss or something? Or did she think saying “You lied to me” is enough for someone to realize you broke up with them? Whatever the reason Teddy was surprisingly hurt. It almost felt like everything he’d said to her had been insincere. But somehow he knew this wouldn’t break their friendship.
Anger raged inside him as he remembered her hand brushing through his hair. Didn’t that seem affectionate in some way? Wasn’t that a bit beyond friendship? He shook his head, confused before heading up to the boy’s dormitory.
----------------
Teddy raced onto the pitch with his teammates, his broom clutched tightly in his fingers as the crowd roared above the noise of the pattering rain and brutal wind. His heart pounded in anticipation. He was ready for the game of a lifetime. He was ready for whatever Gryffindor threw their way.
He glanced at Henry whose face was milky white. He pleaded silently for the seeker to play his best. Otherwise, they didn’t stand a chance. Henry returned his gaze and gave him a shaky thumbs up. Teddy nodded at him with a half grin.
As they reached the center of the grassy pitch he glanced at Abigal who was glaring determinedly at the approaching team in crimson robes. Gryffindor.
The teams lined up for the whistle as Scarlet’s voice rose from the sideline. “Welcome to another Quidditch game! Here we have the Gryffindor Lions! Led by captain Susan Moyle, the Gryffindor team is known for their spectacular beaters! And on the other side we have the Hufflepuff Badgers known for their offensive chasers led by Lyon Burke. Should be a good game. And there’s the whistle for the start of play!”
Teddy mounted his broom and kicked off the soggy ground as the wind buffeted his yellow robes. He zoomed towards the hoops. Suddenly, he felt the force of a speeding bludger and toppled off his broom onto the muddy ground.
“What a move! Before Lupin could get to the posts he was slammed by a bludger! But is he okay? He should be fine.” Scarlet’s voice roared. “That play is brought to you by Dan Crosstifanser. Did I say that right? Mm, that’s a mouthful.”
Pain seared on Teddy’s side as he rolled onto the mud. He glanced into the air as a Gryffindor chaser tossed the quaffle through the posts. Anger coursed through his blood as he crawled onto his knees. His whole body objected as he grabbed his broom but he stood. He managed to stand up, feeling aching on his legs. He could hear Abigal calling out to him anxiously but he ignored it and flew weakly into the air as Gryffindor shot another point.
Had that even been legal? Apparently. He gazed over to the ref who was watching the game, only casting him a few glances of slight concern. Feeling disheveled, he placed himself lopsidedly in front of the center hoop, his gaze blurred from dizziness. Lucky for him, the quaffle was safely in Kiara’s possession as she raced down the pitch.
Teddy shivered under the freezing rain his robes soaked through with slimy mud. His head pounded, reminiscing about the fatal blow. Gryffindor had probably been practicing that play all week. He rubbed his temple to ease his headache as the opposing keeper made a quick save. He groaned as the Gryffindor chasers caught the quaffle and headed in his direction.
There couldn’t be worse conditions, he thought with a scowl, trying to focus.
“Here she is – Olga Pennartz! She’s on a breakaway. Lupin still seems a bit dazed from the hit… He looks drunk, doesn’t he?” Scarlet said to a few chuckles from the spectators. “No offense meant, Ted! Rumor has it Pennartz is being drafted by Puddlemere United next year meaning she’ll skip seventh year to play. Just a rumor!”
Teddy screwed up his eyes against the blustering wind and rain drops, feeling like needles on his skin that was already covered in goose bumps. He had to make this safe. He watched as Olga passed to another chaser who zoomed towards him, launching the quaffle towards the left hoop.
“And a save!” Scarlet cheered as Teddy whacked the quaffle away with his broom. “Whoa! Hunter Allen with an amazing bludger hit. Oh God, again?”
Teddy felt the impact crash into his side making it burn with pain. He clutched onto his broom as he hovered slowly downward. Trying hard not to scream on the top of his searing lungs in outrage, he watched in shame as Gryffindor scored again.
“That’ll make the score thirty – zip Gryffindor… This doesn’t seem fair at all… Gryffindors are cheaters! Ya’ dirty beaters! Knew they were no good jerks. No wonder Slytherin beat them last game! Little prats…”
“Scarlet, watch your mouth!”
“No harm done, Professor!” She said quickly. “Oh pipe it!” She shouted to the raging Gryffindor fans far below.
“Time out! Now!” Lyon screamed his face red with uncontrollable anger.
The ref acknowledged him with a nod and blew into his whistle.
Teddy flew down feeling half ashamed and half dead. His whole body was numb from the cold and pain. He landed his legs collapsing underneath him as he fell to the mud. Abigal and Kiara grabbed his arms in unison and pulled him to his feet as the team gathered around him.
“What’s the deal? We’re getting destroyed!” Harvey, the beater, ranted, his fists clenched.
“The deal is Teddy.” Lyon said firmly, glaring at Teddy with a cold stare. “You’ve got to get your head in this.”
Teddy opened his mouth to retort but Abigal’s was open first. “Leave him alone! Gryffindor’s being cheap! What’s he supposed to do?”
“Hm, I don’t know, dodge the bludger, maybe!” He cried. “We’re going to lose this! We can’t lose this or we’re out!”
Henry stepped forward, his arms crossed to shield himself from the wind. “I can still catch the snitch.” He suggested, softly.
“No you can’t.” Quiet, sullen Andrew stated bluntly. “I’m sorry, buddy, but you just started. You’re not ready for these conditions.”
Henry stepped back, his eyes drooping slightly.
“Enough!” Teddy roared, surprised at his tone of leadership. “We’re a team; we should be supporting each other!”
“I appreciate your advice Teddy but I’m the captain of this team!” Lyon blared, his eyes flashing. “We’re a team; we should play like it.”
As the whistle sounded from across the pitch Teddy shot Lyon a cold glare and mounted his broom. Abigal clutched his arm before he could set off.
“Don’t listen to him,” She whispered. “You’re doing perfectly –”
“No, I’m not.” Teddy sighed. “I’ll do better. I promise.”
She gazed at him for a moment thoughtfully, her eyes scanning his face. At last she gave him a small nod.
He kicked off and flew towards the hoops, pain still making his sight blurry. Lyon’s never that competitive! He thought. He’s right though. I need to pay attention! Even in his head he couldn’t make it sound truthful. He was furious at Lyon.
“The game starts up again after a quick time out from the badgers!” Scarlet’s voice arose around the pitch. “Kiara Chance with the quaffle. Passes to – interception! Margo Bilba coming down! Bludger sent towards Lupin. He dodged it! Yes!”
Teddy watched as the bludger whizzed past his head just as Margo Bilba shot the quaffle to his left. He zoomed over to it just as it fell through. He heard Lyon bellow something he couldn’t quite make out as Kiara cursed under her breath as she flew past.
Teddy felt shame broil up inside him as he watched the game resume. Finally, Lyon was able to score a point but it didn’t help Teddy’s mood. He resisted the urge to slap himself across the face as the game continued.
As he watched a golden speck caught his eye making him jump. The Snitch. He waved his arms frantically at Henry. After a few moments, Henry caught his gaze as Teddy pointed to the Snitch. With a gasp of shock, Henry lunged towards it, the Gryffindor seeker right on his tail.
Suddenly a bludger whizzed from across the pitch into his already painful side. With a scream, he toppled sideways off his broom, the air rushing around him. His voice faded with the howling wind as everything went dark.
-------------------------------------
“Teddy? Teddy?”
Teddy opened his eyes slowly to the milky rays of morning sunlight that filtered into the room. As his eyes adjusted, he could just make out the unclear human figures around him. With a groan, he realized the aching feeling in his body.
“He’s coming round!”
“What’s – what happened?” He mumbled.
“We won, Ted! We really won!”
With a jolt Teddy realized who had just spoken to him – Meggie. As his vision cleared he spotted her vivacious grin across her face, her eyes shining as though nothing had changed between them. She caught his gaze and her smile faltered for a moment before regaining strength. Obviously she was nervous of what he would think of her.
He sighed unable to answer that truthfully. He hadn’t spoken to her in ages yet she cared enough to come see him. Somewhere behind the bold prat is a caring person, he smiled to himself. No matter how deep.
“The game – what happened?” He said his eyes scanning the faces around his bed. The quidditch team Rowel and Meggie surrounded him.
“Well, I caught the Snitch!” Henry said, positively beaming. He shot Andrew a look of superiority. “Teddy you won it for us! If you hadn’t pointed out the Snitch we would’ve been crushed!”
Lyon leaned forward his eyes showing signs of apprehension. “Look, mate, I’m sorry. You really pulled through.”
Teddy shook his head at him. “I was being a bloody pain.” He laughed, lightheartedly.
Lyon chuckled uneasily obviously feeling guilty.
“But what happened to me?”
“Oh Ted, I was worried sick!” Abigal cooed leaning forward. “You got demolished by a – I mean it was cheap but…”
Teddy just nodded not wanting to hear more of his humiliation.
“But a bunch of people brought you stuff.” Rowel said, gesturing to the bedside table. “Gifts and all, you know. Ah, is that a chocolate frog?”
Teddy laughed. “My frog.” He said grabbing it quickly. He scowled now feeling the full wrath of the pain. “Am I drugged up?” He asked tasting a trace of bitterness in his mouth.
“Madam Madison had to give you some antidotes to ease everything up. She said you’ll be fine soon, but no classes today for you.” Rowel explained. “Apparently you had a broken rib, arm and femur. Thank God you were out of it, huh?” He paused considering his words. “I mean, not that it was good that you got injured but for the pain, you know.” He added hastily.
Teddy nodded feeling glad that he hadn’t had to experience all of that. Now that everything was cleared up there was only one more thing to ask.
“Meggie what are you doing here?” He asked trying to keep his tone calm.
She sighed. “I may not be your friend but you’re mine.”
Teddy blinked, stunned that she still tolerated him after everything. Then again, did he have the strength to tolerate her as a friend again? “Things’ve changed, Meggie.” He said at last.
“I know, I know. I mean we’ve done a lot together so I guess that makes us something.” Meggie shrugged.
“We – we can’t be friends like we once were.” He responded ignoring the awkward onlookers around him.
“I know.” She sighed and turned on her heel to walk away.
The group fell silent for a moment.
“Hey Meggie.” Abigal piped up. Meggie turned quickly.
“You can come to my party tonight.” She told her.
“Yeah, whatever.” Meggie shrugged, casually. “Where?”
“I still don’t know where I’m going to have it.” Abigal admitted.
“I have an idea!” Teddy blurted out. “Listen, there’s this hump backed witch…”
---------------------
Teddy limped slowly towards the Defense Against The Dark Arts corridor beside Rowel and Henry who were chatting loudly as they went.
“If you’re too tired or something we can leave early.” Rowel offered generously as he helped Teddy steady himself in front of the witch statue.
“No, mate, I don’t want to spoil the fun.” Teddy told him whipping out his wand as another group of students headed their direction.
“You wouldn’t be spoiling my fun.” Rowel whispered with a skeptical glance from Teddy.
“Dissendium!” Teddy snapped, tapping his wand to the witch’s back.
“Wicked,” Henry mumbled. “Do you think everyone knows where it is?”
“Hopefully,” Teddy said.
“Teddy!”
Teddy turned to see Victorie Weasley with a gaggle of friends around her as they approached. Victorie beamed and waved.
“Hey, I didn’t know you were friends with Abigal.” Teddy smiled; glad to see she wasn’t ignoring him like she usually did.
Victorie blushed and tossed her hair over her shoulder. “Actually, I’m dating Dustin.” She grinned sheepishly as her friends giggled.
“Wait what?” Teddy gasped. She’s a third year! Teddy thought surprised at the anger that came along with those words. What’s he playing at? He remembered how concerned Dustin had been about Abigal when she had argued with Meggie. Was that what Teddy was feeling right now? No, he realized. He shook it away. “If that’s what you like.”
Victorie grinned as Rowel helped Teddy into the small opening to the tunnel.
The tunnel that had once been so silent was now full of music and loud chatter. Fairy lights were strung loosely from the ceilings illuminating the slippery passageway. Tables of food sat crookedly on the stony ground and a stunning bonfire blazed in the center.
Abigal rushed over to him, catching him as he almost slipped. She beamed and propped his upright her hands resting on his shoulder. “I’m so glad you could come. I know it was a lot to ask in your state.”
“I –I wouldn’t miss it.” Teddy said in a faraway voice. His gaze traveled over to Dustin and Victorie who were snogging each other with great exaggeration. Teddy dropped his gaze feeling angry. She was only thirteen!
Abigal cupped his face in her hands to make him look at her. “I think you’re forgetting something.” She whispered.
“Happy Birthday,” he sighed as she let her hands droop to her side like a wilting flower.
“You seem down…” She said softly grabbing his arm. She dragged him past the roaring bonfire and to an area of dancing party guests.
“No,” Teddy said bluntly. “I’m not dancing. I don’t. Not now.”
Abigal tried to drag him further but he stayed rooted to the spot. “C’mon Teddy!” She persisted.
Teddy looked around anxiously and spotted Rowel talking to Edgar by a large chocolate fountain. “Rowel’s calling me.” Teddy lied pulling away.
Abigal sighed and let him limp away.
Teddy glanced around hoping to catch Dustin with Victorie. He wanted more than anything to tell him off but on the other hand it was his birthday. Finally he spotted Victorie but only dancing innocently with her friends by the fire.
“This sucks.” Teddy sighed grabbing a heavily frosted cupcake from the table and stuffing it into his mouth hungrily.
Rowel shrugged. “It could get better.” He glanced at the entrance and spotted another large group of students sliding in. “Never mind. What was Dustin thinking inviting all these people? We aren’t supposed to be here! If we get caught…”
Edgar nodded apprehensively. “I have a perfect record…” He whimpered.
“Say that while you can.” Rowel said grabbing a Butter Beer from the tray a house elf was balancing over its head. “I got detention on Halloween.”
Edgar smiled nervously. “I remember that.” He said trying to calm down.
“How’d they get house elves here?” Teddy wondered aloud taking a swig of Butter Beer.
Rowel and Edgar shrugged seeming moderately content to watch the students as they milled around idly, dancing, laughing and singing around them.
“Rowel,” Teddy whispered deciding he had nothing better to do than strike up a conversation. “About the address Ivey gave me… You reckon it’s real?”
Rowel’s dark eyes scanned the lines of Teddy’s face, searching it. “I don’t – I don’t know.” He decided at last dropping his gaze.
Teddy raised an eyebrow as Rowel took a small sip of his Butter Beer. “I just – I just need an opinion, mate.”
“Fine, but you won’t like it.” Rowel sighed, glancing around. “I don’t want to – I dunno - crush your dreams or whatever but,” He paused searching for the right words. “Are you sure she’s not lying?”
Teddy stared at him wide eyed. “Of course I’m sure!” He spat a bit louder than in intended. “You weren’t there, Rowel! You didn’t hear her. She was serious, I swear on my parent’s graves.” He shuddered at his words.
“You wanted an opinion, I gave you one.” Rowel said nonchalantly, leaning back against the wall.
“Never mind,” Teddy responded through gritted teeth.
Ivey was serious, I know it! He told himself, trying to eliminate all other thoughts. 11 Gorac Lane, 11 Gorac Lane, 11 Gorac Lane… But Antonin Dolohov was Ivey’s uncle! Who in their right mind would give a complete stranger their uncle’s address? 11 Gorac Lane, London…Gorac Lane… Ivey had said something about how Antonin had betrayed her family… He took a swig of Butter Beer to clear his mind. This was a party… nothing more…
“You’re my one in a million, girl! You’re like the perfect wand, never letting go! So just wait and let your powers unfurl, girl, yeah, yeah, yeah. ‘Cause you’re one in a million like a wand, like a wand. One in a million, let’s make a bond, make a bond. You’re my one in a million girl!”
Teddy turned and saw Meggie traipsing over to them a bottle of Firewhiskey in each hand as she sang to the music blasting from an unknown source. She smiled crookedly and put an arm around Rowel and Teddy with a hearty chuckle.
“Meggie!” Rowel snapped throwing her arm away from him. “Firewhiskey? Meggie you’re fifteen! That’s illegal!” He snatched the bottles from her hands.
“Chill, brother!” Meggie mumbled reaching out to grab the bottles from him. “It’s a party!”
“That you weren’t invited to!” Rowel shrieked.
“She’s way too drunk…” Teddy said shoving Meggie away from him. “Go – go jump in the bonfire or something.”
“Is – Is that a dare, Teddy? Is it?”
“No!” Rowel growled glaring at Teddy. “Meggie, go back to the Common Room. I hear their giving out Firewhiskey up there.”
Meggie shrugged. “So? I don’t – I don’t need Firewhiskey.”
Teddy rolled his eyes as her attention snapped to him.
“Ted, are you going – are you going to avenge your parents?” She grumbled, her eyelids drooping.
Teddy glared at her. “Shut up!”
Exactly why I’m not friends with her! He thought limping away from the pair of them to Rowel’s dismay. She has no limits. Why is she Hufflepuff? Sorting Hat error? He fumed silently as he approached the fire where a group of rowdy boys were throwing things into the bonfire making wild explosions.
“Potions pays off! Woo hoo!”
Teddy laughed as the fire turned a vibrant magenta before letting out a quacking noise that made the tunnel erupt with delight. He smiled turning to see Rowel trying to pry Meggie off him as she clung to his leg. He rolled his eyes.
“Okay guys, this is gonna be big!” one of the boys roared to the applause of the crowd. He reached into his pocket and pulled out an ordinary looking root – probably something from the potions closet... the restricted potions closet. “Are you ready?”
The crowd screamed in delight, Teddy was surprised to find himself among them.
The boy threw the root into the bonfire and ran away from along with the rest of the onlookers in panic and exhilaration.
Teddy covered his eyes like a frightened child and peered through the gaps between his fingers, unsure of what was to follow.
Suddenly a crack sounded, louder than a whip as the fire raged a blinding yellow. It exploded into a massive streak reaching the ceiling and tearing violent paths in the stone. Screams sounded soft compared to the roars of the rapidly spreading fire – if that was even what it was anymore.
Teddy rushed into the crowd of panicked students as they ran at top speeds towards the exit, their cries echoing around the room eerily. Unable to see from the piercing, all-consuming light, Teddy pushed through the bodies that surrounded him, unable to make sense of anything. His leg gave out underneath him and with an unheard scream he fell to the ground, grasping at the stone for support as feet crashed over him.
His body went rigid from shock as the screams grew louder and louder around him. His vision swirled as he attempted to pull himself up. If only someone could see him now.
The great Teddy Lupin.
About to die.
