5 Years Later

Jubal hurried to the front door as another knock sounded. He threw it open to reveal Castiel on his doorstep. They smile at each other, though Jubal’s was still a little cold. Hearing laughter, his eyes turn towards the car where his two little nephews stood holding the door open.

Ruth unbuckled her one year old daughter and closed the door. When she saw her brother looking at her, she smiled at him. Telling her sons to run to their father, she follows them into the house.

Castiel takes the young pups into the den and turns on the tv for them. Ruth hugs Jubal as she hands Lillian over to him. When Cass wraps his arms around her, she smiles. “I have some news for the both of you.” She says softly and instantly their eyes are on her.

“Castiel and I are expecting another pup.” Her words were met with smiles and laughter. “If it’s alright with you Jubal, I’d like to name it after you. It was Cass’s idea.” Jubal looked at his brother-in-law who just nodded at him.

“Ruth, I’d honored.” Ruth hugs Jubal again before she heads to the kitchen to start dinner. Life was finally evening out for her and everything was perfect again.
