We all stared at her.
We were not expecting those words to come out of her mouth...

"Mrs Brown had me convinced the children were safe in the woods. I was protesting, but she distracted me. She even tried to convince me that Louise was lying. I bet Louise was part of the plan with Mrs Brown. It's all their fault and now I have no one left in my life..." she sobbed.

I wanted to slap her across the face.

My mum did.

The slap echoed, even in the tiny police car.

Everyone stared at my mum.
"LIAR!" She yelled, tears in her eyes,
"How could you?! I've helped you all your life, and you do this to me?! Wow. Just wow"

Officer Dan smiled a sickly smile. It's like he was waiting to do this.
He took out his radio and said "Phil, bring the handcuffs" then he glared at my mum and said "we're making an arrest"

I started crying straight away, but stopped as soon as I saw Officer Phil. But this time, he didn't make me smile. There was a different aura about him. His facial expressions looked exactly like Officer Dan's.

Then it was all a blur.

We were all ushered out of the car, and my mum was taken away from me forever.

I had lost my mum, and my best friend, all in one day.
