Holiday Special Pt. 2

Pt. 2, In which a stupid punishment involves a wrench, a bag of weed, and an Ulta Beauty makeup palette.

------

Twelve pairs of eyes stared at their principal silently, the only sound being the small drops of melted snow that fell off their coats and onto the cold linoleum floor.

"You've all tarnished the reputation of Astrolia High. This is supposed to be the best school in the state! How could a fight to this scale have happened?" Orion scowled.

"I wasn't even fighting!" Libra protested.

"But you were involved." Orion said.

An uneasy silence fell onto the group after this, before Orion finally broke it again.

"Tomorrow. One PM. You'll stay in the school building until six. Five hours of bonding time." Orion stated firmly.

"But it's winter break!"

"You can't do this!"

"This is basically child abuse-"

"Either this or a three week suspension." Orion scowled. This shut them all up quickly. 'We'll supply food, and there's water fountains around the school. No excuses, either you all learn to deal with each other or take the suspension."

The twelve sat in silent protest, but in their mind, the decision had already been made.

Orion stood up.

"Well, see you all at one!"

------

"What are you doing?" Taurus sits on Scorpio's bed, looking over curiously at the boy who's buried neck deep in his drawer.

"Getting Gemini back for him pulling into this mess." Scorpio replied, quickly shoving a ziploc bag into his sweatshirt and standing up. "Anyways, enough of that. Wanna watch a movie?"

"Eh, sure." Taurus shrugged, and the two made their way downstairs into Scorpio's living room.

------

Dinner was a quiet affair at Capricorn's household, today even more so with Capricorn seeming very angry about something. However, halfway into the meal, her face suddenly lit up and she turned to her dad with a smile.

"Hey, dad, you don't have any clients tomorrow, do you?"

"I have to go fix the Torres' basement lights next week, but no, nothing tomorrow. Why do you ask?" Her dad replied, confused.

Capricorn just smiled. "Ah, no reason at all."

------

"Ugh." Aquarius scowled at the screen, running her hands through her black hair exasperatedly.

"What? You chose the movie." Pisces asked, glancing over in concern.

"Movie night is ruined! I can't concentrate on the Four Horsemen when we have a stupid five hour long bonding session at school tomorrow!" Aquarius said.

"But this is your favorite movie." Even Libra was confused. Aquarius was seriously into her films. If she started disliking it, well, something was terribly wrong.

"Even with Jack Wilder looking like that?" Pisces asked, pointing at the screen.

Aquarius glanced a the screen and simply shook her head. "Yes, Jack Wilder could rearrange my guts right now and I'd still be mad."

Libra frowned at her choice of words but said nothing about it.

"Well, want to do thing in preparation for tomorrow?" Pisces asked, a sudden idea striking him.

"Like what?" Aquarius' interest was piqued.

Pisces leaned in to whisper to the other two, and soon the scowl on Aquarius' face was replaced a mischievous grin.

------

The next day, the twelve were all gathered in Principal Orion's room, mixed expressions on all of their faces. Finally, Orion arrived, and everyone fell silent.

"Okay." he said. "It is now one PM, and surprisingly all of you showed up. But it's excellent that you did. Now, I will take all phones, laptops, tablets, etc."

Groans and shouts echoed through the room.

"This is a bonding experience. Your generation doesn't bond with those things present." Orion explained, waving his hand over a cardboard box.

"What if there is an emergency?" Libra asked.

"I didn't explain this to my parents. I was supposed to call them." Cancer said.

"I have already contacted your parents or guardians and explained everything. And I will be watching from a nearby location and will call authorities if anything happens." The principal assured.

"Wait." Sagittarius started. "You'll be watching from a 'nearby location'? That doesn't make me fee-"

"That's enough Mrs. Archer. I will call the authorities if there is any problem." Mr. Orion cut her off.

"I didn't bring anything," Aries told the principal, crossing her arms.

"I'll be watching the camera's closely, and the vice principal will also be helping me. If we see any electronics that should not be in your possession, that is an automatic suspension."

Silently, Aries and a few others dropped a couple more items into the box. Principal Orion took the box, closed it, and locked it in the safe.

"Now, all of you, no fighting. Social interactions. I will be watching. There is food in the cafeteria for you. Please, try to get along." He said before walking out the door.

A silence fell over the room, before Leo got up and said, "I'm going to the cafeteria. I don't care about this whole thing, but if there's free food, I'm taking it." He then proceeded to walk out the door. Virgo followed behind him a second later.

Everyone exchanged glances, before a silent decision was made and they all went to the cafeteria. Most of the tables had been pushed back, leaving two in the center that was filled with pizza and breakfast foods. There were also a few tables scattered around where they could sit. As they grabbed their pizza slices, Taurus piped up.

"We should play a game," she said.

"Why?" Virgo asked.

"To pass the time. I want to get out of here as fast as possible."

"She's got a point," Libra said.

Aquarius nodded with a grin.

"All right, I'm in. I'm totally going to win." Aries said, smirking.

"You don't even know what we're playing yet," Gemini replied, giving her a look.

"I'll still win." Aries declared.

"How about Manhunt?" Pisces asked, smiling.

"Aka hide and seek?" Capricorn said, unimpressed.

"It won't be that bad." Libra mused. "Plenty of places to hide in an empty school..."

"Let's play!" Aquarius cheered.

"Well then, who's searching?" Scorpio asked.

Everyone glanced at each other.

"Not it!"

"Not it!"

"Not it!"

Shouts sounded out, until Cancer groaned. Smiles spread across their faces as the rest of the students spread out to find their hiding spots. Cancer stayed behind, watching the time tick by.

------

"Hey, this is my spot!" Virgo yelled, pushing past Leo. Leo snorted.

"You're seriously going to hide here in the library. Where everyone thinks a goody-two-shoes like you is going hide." Leo said disbelievingly.

"It's called hiding in plain sight. Anyways, why would you be here? You hate reading. I'd expect you to be at the gym or dozing off in a classroom." Virgo retorted.

"That's why I chose to hide here because they wouldn't find me. Besides, I have an awesome nap corner that I set up in here last year. I plan to sleep the afternoon away. As for the gym, it's too cold and lonely in there."

"And you started caring about the cold or loneliness because...?"

"Dunno, maybe because you abandoned me one too many times to babysit?"

Virgo just sighed, shaking his head.

"You know what, forget about it."

"Whatever. I'm going to go nap. You have fun." Leo said before turning away.

------

"This is not how I pictured kicking off break." Taurus stated as she walked down the hall.

"You can still have fun," Scorpio said, starting to whistle as they strolled down the empty halls.

"You do remember this is basically an in-school suspension right?"

"Besides that. So try to have fun tonight. Something good ought to happen, right?" Scorpio said, silently musing to himself how ironic that was.

Taurus just nodded silently.

------

"Why are you following me?"

"We're going to hide, aren't we?" Gemini asked, confused. Sagittarius shook her head.

"There's no "we" in that sentence. I've got to win this so Aries doesn't. Now shoo." She said, waving him away. Gemini frowned.

"You're still mad at me, aren't you?"

"Just go hide with Aries or something." Gemini winced, but decided to leave her be and turned to walk off in the opposite direction.

------

Finally, everyone and everything was set. Cancer glanced at the clock. 1:58. Two more minutes, and then she would be free to look for the others.

1:59.

She stood and waited by the cafeteria doors, thinking of who she would look for first.

Ten

Nine

Eight

Seven

One student smiled as they found their hiding spot next to the electrical room, ready to indulge in the madness that will surely follow.

Six

Five

Four

Another student pulled out materials and headed over to the spot they're supposed to wait by. Now, all they had to do was make this look good. They watched silently as another student arrived to help.

Three

Two

"Ready for awesomeness?"

"Hell yeah."

One

------

"Found you!" Cancer shouted. She had been wandering down the halls for a while, occasionally peeking into random classrooms to check for people. Finally, she had found someone.

"Yeah yeah, you found me," Capricorn said, rolling her eyes as she climbed out from underneath Mr. Clark's desk. Together, the two girls exited the computer lab.

"Where should we look now?" Cancer asked the taller girl, watching her nervously. Cancer didn't know much about Capricorn, only that she was a junior and had recently transferred to this high school. She also managed to accidentally get into this fight, and Cancer couldn't help but feel kind of sorry for her. Capricorn had gotten into trouble without doing anything, but still had to suffer from the five hour punishment.

Capricorn paused. "I gotta go get something from my bag, I'll be back soon. I'll shout out anyone I see on the way." And before the black-haired girl could respond, Capricorn had already hurried down the hallway.

Cancer sighed to herself. Why did I have to get stuck with this job? She thought as she continued to walk down the hallway.

------

I thought I told you to find your own hiding spot?" Sagittarius glared. Gemini gave her a sheepish look.

"Well, that originally was my plan..." He answered honestly. "I'll leave, but can I ask you a question first?"

Sagittarius paused, weighing her options. "Fine," she said.

"Why are you hiding in a boy's bathroom?"

"Because this place is so disgusting no one would ever think to look in here," Sagittarius said matter-of-factly.

"You might catch something in here."

"True. Now get out, I'm hiding in here."

------

Libra walked out of the art room, sighing. He walked down the hallway, before his frustration got the best of him and he lashed out, kicking the locker next to him. He immediately grabbed his foot and let out a hiss in pain.

How did he even get caught up in this?

Oh right. He had tried to stop a fight.

Another thing to put on his list of things to never do again. Get detention? Maybe. Stop a fight? Never again.

------

Aries wandered through the halls in search of Gemini. He would probably be with her cousin, who would be trying to win him over. And that could not happen. She peeked into a room, finding it empty. Then she moved onto the next opening the door and-

"Found you!" A startled yelp escaped Aries as she saw Cancer standing in front of her.

"That's not much of a hiding spot," Cancer commented dryly.

"You nearly scared me to death." Aries breathed, attempting to regain her normal heart rate.

"Good thing I didn't then. I need your help finding the others."

------

A glance towards the clock. A glance at the electrical box. A glance up. A glance down. Glance up. Glance down. Glances turned into glares. Glaring at the clock. Glaring at the electrical box. Glaring between the two.

Twenty minutes had gone by slow enough. Another ten seemed like hell.

"You know what. Screw it. Let's get this party started!"

A switch was flipped and buttons pressed. A few seconds later, the majority of the school plunged into darkness.

A couple of startled screams and gasps echoed through the school.

Capricorn just grinned.

------

"Dammit, now I can't see what I'm doing," Scorpio growled, kicking the locker in front of him.

"Maybe it's for the best. Taurus reasoned. "It's not the best to vandalize people's lockers."

"He's not a person."

"You two need to get over yourselves. You used to be best friends."

"Used to. Not anymore.

"Whatever," Taurus replied, rolling her eyes. "Anyways, what were you doing?" She pressed, noting the same ziploc bag she'd seen earlier at Scorpio's house now clutched tightly in his hand.

"I know! I'll get my flashlight. You stay here, I'll be right back." Scorpio ran off without another word, completely ignoring Taurus' previous question.

"Great."  Taurus just sighed to herself.

------

"Let's check the gym." Capricorn, who had rejoined the other two girls, suggested. "Based on what others say, Aquarius loves art. She's bound to be there."

"The power went out. Shouldn't you be more concerned?" Cancer asked.

"Nah. Sanders will be back for us once he sees the power is out. Might as well finish the game." Capricorn said.

Aries just shrugged in nonchalant agreement. "Come on. This way."

The three continued down the hall until they entered the gym. Capricorn swung her flashlight about, searching.

Cancer shuffled behind the two until her foot connected with something that caused her to stumble forwards. She turned back around and felt around for the thing that had tripped her. Odd... she thought. Is that... a nose?

"You okay?" Capricorn called back to her.

"Yeah," Cancer called back. Capricorn swung the flashlight back in her direction, only to have it fall to the ground as she jumps back in shock. Cancer screamed, and Aries scrambled backwards.

"I-is that-" Capricorn started, being the first to regain composure. "I think I'm going to puke."

Okay... this is dragging on to be a lot longer than I thought it would be... guess that means I'm making a pt. 3!
