Chapter Three
November 25, 2020 - One Day Before Thanksgiving
The sun was their wake-up call. It shone through the curtains, hitting her directly in the eyes. Lifting a hand and shifting in bed did nothing but stir the man next to her.
"(Y/n), love, please stop moving around," Robert spoke softly into his lover's ear, moving his hands back around her waist to keep her still. "It's too early for anything..."
On the contrary, it was nine in the morning. Their usual day started three hours after this time, but due to time zones, they both needed to wake up now.
(Y/n) closed her eyes and carefully moved his hands off her waist. "Rob, we need to get up. It's nine o'clock, and I'm betting Henry's in the kitchen with Sarah and Nate." She didn't want to leave the warm covers either, but leaving her little brother alone with those two wasn't such a good idea. "I don't want to start anything on our first day or in general."
Robert groaned and shifted so he was sitting upright. His curly brown locks were a complete mess, and the bags under his eyes were clear. "It's six o'clock in LA right now... we should be sleeping, love." He watched (Y/n) sit up and run her fingers through her hair, she looked worse than he did. "Does Henry even wake up this early?" A yawn was stifled, not wanting to pass it on. (Y/n) grunted, a clear 'yes'. "Fine..."
"I'm going to take a shower first..." (Y/n) stretched her arms in the air, a series of POPS! following her action. "Make me a cup, will you?" She covered her mouth, also attempting to hold back a yawn.
The room that Sarah had given them had a small bathroom inside, a stand-up showing, and a toilet on the opposite side of the room from the door. Rich People.
A small smile played onto Robert's lips, mischief was hidden behind it. "Would you like some help? It's early, and I'd hate for you to have fallen in there." They'd taken one together before, it had been a cold day they'd both been in an unfortunate situation that involved walking in the weather. It was at that time they both needed a hot shower, and Henry had thankfully been at school as well.
The (h/c) haired woman frowned, thinking it through. She placed a finger on her lips, thinking the offer over. "Fine, but no funny business, Robert Manion." The frown broke, she couldn't hold back a smile any longer.

The (h/c) haired woman frowned, thinking it through. She placed a finger on her lips, thinking the offer over. "Fine, but no funny business, Robert Manion." The frown broke, she couldn't hold back a smile any longer.
"Why did the water have to be cold?" Robert whined after they got dressed. As much as he wanted to be awake and ready, a cold shower had not been on the list to do so. "Was your goal to torture me?"
(Y/n) picked up a zip-up hoodie and put it over her shoulders. "You're the one that wanted to join me." She replied with a shrug. "S'not my fault that you don't like cold showers." Not that she liked them either, they were just an excellent wake-up call.
Hand-in-hand, they walked out of the bedroom. Something that kept (Y/n) calm was Robert's hand in hers, and the occasional reassuring squeeze. And something that he learned very quickly, was that his girlfriend was very bitter in the morning.
Sarah and her husband Nate were sitting by the fire, talking to Henry about something. And by the looks of it, the eleven-year-old wasn't exactly comfortable.
However, when the couple entered the room, Henry's head shot up and his mouth immediately closed as he hurried off the couch. "Mom! Good morning!" He hugged his sister and Robert, giving them a 'please help me' look at the same time.
"Good morning, Henry," (Y/n) replied, ruffling his hair. "Nate," she nodded at the ginger on that sat next to her sister. "Sarah." Her tone was bitter, making Robert squeeze her hand.
Nate raised an eyebrow. "Coffee's on the counter if you two want some, and creamer's in the fridge if you want any." He had mixed feelings about (Y/n), the last man she had been with wasn't too kind on their wedding day, so he wondered if the man who was currently in his kitchen was the same. The woman was sweet, making everyone assume she just simply had a bad taste in men.
"Sugar?" Robert asked while (Y/n) prepared their coffee.
"Freezer," Nate answered. "Top shelf, blue and white bag."
It was clear that Nate was looking for a flaw in the Australian. Robert could never figure out why everyone questioned their relationship, and when he asked (Y/n), she brushed it off, telling him to not worry about it.
(Y/n) shot Nate a look that told him to back off. It's too early for all of them, and if something were to happen, she would snap and probably end up throwing something heavy and hard. It had happened before, senior year at prom, a boy cheated on Sarah, and he paid for it.
Once their coffee was ready, everyone was sitting on the couch. Henry on his iPad and the adults sat in silence. The only one on a phone was Robert, checking up on his friends.
"So... Robert... where are you from?" Sarah broke the silence. Here we go... (Y/n) rolled her eyes.
Robert shifted in his seat, setting his phone in his lap. "Tasmania, Australia. I moved here so I could work on my career." He had known these questions were coming, so he had prepared before coming.
"What's your career?" Nate asked next, raising an eyebrow at his answer. Moving countries to pursue a career...
"I'm an actor and singer. Most of what I do is performing in musicals, which is actually how I met (Y/n) and Henry," he took his girlfriend's free hand, needing some reassurance himself. "They went to come to see my friends and me on stage in LA, and... one thing led to another." He always left out the details of seeing the other (Y/n), times were different, she was out of his view, but not forgotten.
Sarah and Nate looked at one another. "Musicals?" Robert nodded. "No wonder she's attracted to you," Sarah laughed. "She had the biggest crush on the boy who played Riff in West Side Story, the younger version of him of course." She paused and tapped the edge of her coffee cup. "What was his name..." (Y/n) narrowed her eyes while her face turned red. "Ah, Russ Tamblyn!"
"Okay... let's not go back in time, Sarah." (Y/n) pleaded, but it was clouded with bitterness. "And, let's stop with the questions. It's early, coffee first, questions later. It's six o'clock in LA right now, please give us a little time to wake up."
The Ford's agreed to it. They had a thousand more questions to ask, and they had until the 28th to ask every single one.
I am so sorry for not updating guys. My grandparents are actually moving in with us, so updates are going to be a little wonky. This week is also my last week of school, so I've got to get all work done by Thursday! ~ Lily
For those of you who haven't seen "West Side Story", this is Riff!
