Chapter One

November 24, 2020- Two Days Before Thanksgiving

"I just want you for my own, more than you would ever know~ Make my wish come true, all I want for Christmas is-"

Mariah Carey was cut short when (Y/n) pushed the power button to the radio. "Jesus Christ, it's November and they're playing Christmas songs." It happened every year, but the (h/c) haired woman hated listening to such music at the wrong time. "Robert, could you put something on from Pandora? Something that's not Christmas-ey?"

Robert chuckled and unlocked the iPhone. "Anything for you, love." He didn't mind the music, but what he did mind was an irritated driver. "How does Disney Parks Music Radio sound? I'm in the mood for a little Disney." He shot his girlfriend a smile, trying to lighten the stressful mood.

The moon was high in the sky, bringing small light upon the dark road on the outskirts of Novi, Michigan. Few cars were gliding across the asphalt, no one wanted to be driving at the lovely hour of 11:00 pm.

Or," Robert lowered the phone and took (Y/n)'s right hand from the wheel. "We could stop and rest somewhere. It's late, and Henry's asleep in the back." He held up a hand when she opened her mouth to object. "It's late, love. You've been driving for five hours..."

(Y/n) shook her head and held back a yawn by puffing her cheeks. "We're almost at Sarah's house..."

In four miles, turn left, then take an immediate right. Your destination is on the left." Siri chimed in. Robert sighed and set the iPhone down, knowing that he had been beaten by an AI.

Shortly after they had started dating, Robert discovered that (Y/n) was incredibly stubborn when it came to her physical or mental state. If someone mentioned that she didn't look well, or that she had been working too hard, they were lucky if she didn't snap at them. Robert had only experienced it once when he told (Y/n) she was under the weather and not able to go to work.

"Rent's due soon and I'm short nearly two-hundred!" She snapped. "Henry's education is costly and here I am, with two jobs and not earning enough!"

Robert was quick to inform her that she didn't need to do anything on her own anymore. That had set her right... for the time being. She nearly got into a fight with Sarah over Thanksgiving and Christmas, her sister pulling the family card, and Robert telling her that he wanted to meet more of her family.

Sarah Ford, formally known as Sarah (L/n), was (Y/n)'s older sister. They had separated after their parent's death, as well as when Sarah married. It didn't shock anyone that the older sibling had managed to marry rich, she was smart as well as beautiful. Boys and even girls had swooned over her during high school, but the only thing that mattered to her was her education, not a silly relationship.

Needless to say, her house was very easy to spot in a very open field.

The home was beautiful and looked brand new each time (Y/n) went over. (Which didn't happen to be very often) The home was a crimson red, nearly looking like a barn, which was Fords' plan. The windows were huge with white frames surrounding them, varieties of flowers were put in window boxes below the bottom of the frames. And the white rustic door could not be missed either.

"Wow... that house is fucking majestic," Robert breathed, managing to see small bits of detail that emitted from the moon and front lawn lights. His hazel eyes sparkled in interest, which turned out to be everyone's first reaction to the Fords' residence. "Goddamn."

(Y/n) held back an eye roll. This was one of the reasons why she never brought anyone to see her sister. Damn rich people. "Henry?" She moved the clutch to the P then turned around, shaking her brother until his blue eyes opened. "We're here..." a small smile drew onto her face, for the sake of the eleven-year-old.

Henry let out a long yawn and groaned while stretching. "We are?" His eyes trailed over to the window. "Awww she's rich, isn't she?" His sister snorted, knowing how the boy felt about rich people. "Darn it."

"Sarah's not like your... old folks, Henry," (Y/n) tried, but the truth was, she didn't know how her sister would act to having another sibling who was twenty years younger than her. "And... it would be best to tell Sarah that you're... you know..." she cringed.

The ten-year-old sat up from his seat, rubbing his eyes with another yawn. "You're my mom, and Robert's my dad." The Australian nearly spit out his coffee, this being the first time he had heard this. "Or... he's just your boyfriend and I don't call him dad yet."

To avoid confrontation, (Y/n) shut the car down and stepped out, going straight for the back to unload some of their luggage. "Henry, help Rob out with everything, I'm going to go-"

"Now hold on there, love." Robert grabbed his girlfriend's arm before she could take a step further from the car. "What's with the mom and dad get up?" (Y/n) stayed silent, hoping that could answer his question. "She doesn't know about Henry being your brother, does she?"

They both didn't notice the porch light flicker on.

"Sarah's thirty-three years old, Rob! She'd kill me if I told her that Henry's more of a brother than a son!" She pursed her lips and looked to the floor. "She also wants a niece or a nephew. My sister's really high maintenance."

Someone cleared their throat behind them. (Y/n) cringed and turned around, facing a tall brunette with flamming (e/c) eyes. A silky white robe hung loosely on her body, but the sports bra and short-shorts were easy to see. A frightening happy smile was onto her lips.

"Hello to you too, (N/n)."
