Chapter 95: Revelations Part 5
"Uncle?" Axel repeated in disbelief as he turned towards Jesse. "He's related to you?"
"Not by choice," The homunculus repeated, the scythe in his clawed hands never straying from targeting Jesse. "Then again, no one has a choice when it comes to family, but we can choose our friends."
"Friends?" Jesse repeated in confusion. Why bring up friends, or even mention them all of a sudden?
The black dust that was swarming behind the homunculus retracted back into his body to reveal a possessed Templar wearing a metal exoskeleton that's covering her entire body; her blonde hair is visible.
"L-Lisa...!" Jesse whispered, his eyes full of emotion.
"Hello, meatbags." PAMA greeted, its red eyes stared each and every one of them before settling on Olivia.
"Y-You?!" Olivia shouted in disbelief and fright. "I thought you were gone; you left!"
"That doesn't mean it prevents me from returning, you fucking idiot," PAMA scoffed at Olivia, its female voice echoing inside the exoskelton. "I meant it when I said I was going to personally kill you, meatbag."
"No, you're not!" Jesse yelled, standing in front of Olivia as Axel and Petra flanked her; Raven still held Lukas with a sword, made out of divine energy, to his throat to prevent the homunculus from attacking them. "We're getting Lisa back, and we're not going to let you hurt anymore people!"
"I like to see you try, meatbags," PAMA growled as familiar humanoids walked to flank PAMA's sides; The Lost.
"Oh... that is not good." Petra commented, looking at the four pale pseudo-immortals before them; their single eye is a deep red like Lisa's since they too are under PAMA's control.
"Think of them as a precaution of you don't hand over Lukas," The freak said as he gripped his scythe in both of his clawed hands. "Personally, I'm only after the people in the Clockwork Fortress."
Jesse was on his guard, but he needs answers while stalling for Tangle. He needs to ask something that's been bugging him. "But if you're after those under he Clockwork Fortress, and avenging Lukas, then what about Bailey?"
If the hood of his metal cloak weren't blocking his decayed face, then they would see him raise a wilted eyebrow at that sudden question. "What about her?" The freak replied coldly in his dead voice. "I didn't even get to cut that whore-!"
"He's talking about why you wanted to kill her!" Olivia snapped, angry at his disregard for life, partially forgetting to stall until Tangle is ready. "Why are you so obsessed with killing her?"
"Because she did this to him," PAMA grabbed the homunculus chest, sinking its exoskeleton claws in before ripping out his ribcage; exposing his inner, maggot-infested, rotten organs as his odd-colored blood splatters all over the ground before them. There was a scar on his dead heart, leading downwards as it had multiple tumors that leaked and bursts colorful liquid.
"Is that... potion liquid?" Raven asked in disbelief, eyeing the substance that's mixing with the homunculus' odd-colored blood that's pooling onto the ground. "Why is that leaking out of him?!"
"Bailey did this to me," The homunculus revealed/growled, making them tense; it sounded inhuman. The homunculus' skin and cloak grew back healthy before rotting. "Her Alchemy Class supercharged her hybrid Potion of Healing and Regeneration with Mana, it didn't help that the armor I was wearing during the Tournament had hydra blood; it leaked into my skin."
Everyone was starting to understand now. "So..." Jesse's mouth felt dry as he looked at his nephew. "That hydra blood and Bailey's potion-!"
"Equals me." The freak finished, tapping his claws on his chest. "It was only because of my adaptable, homunculus DNA allowed his to survive as long as I did; I mutated into this!"
"But is it completely Bailey's fault?" Jesse tried to reason, but his angry tone didn't help. "My sister is the one who made him-!"
"Don't you dare bring her into this- who the fuck are you to call her out like that!" PAMA growled, making everyone back away in caution. "She gave him life, she helped him recover, and she is not the one who turned him into this!"
"But Jess created him!" Olivia countered. "Wouldn't that make all of this her fault?"
"She didn't make me into this!" The abomination dug into the his stomach, ripping out his rotten intestines as it fell onto the ground before disintegrating into carbon to rejoin his body; everyone recoiled in disgust as the smell and sight alone made them nauseous. "I exist as a disposable decoy, not as a this walking abomination of suffering! I am like this, because of some self-conscious girl, lacking a backbone who had a crush for my father!"
"But, dude, Bailey was trying to help you!" Axel reasoned. "I may have not known her as much, but she's not cruel!"
Energy swarmed around PAMA with fury so intense that the Lost started to visibly jerk; not even pseudo-immortals can contain PAMA's wrath. "Just because you have good intentions, that doesn't mean you are automatically good!" The possessed Templar screamed. "No good deed goes unpunished, and you will all get yours too, meatbags!"
"What did we do?" Petra argued, her temper helping her gain confidence to even speak against PAMA. "We didn't go around and wiped twenty-four villages off the face of the world!"
"What didn't you do?" PAMA yelled as it gestured to itself and the homunculus. "You're not innocent, you're just more innocent than us by comparison!"
"Like what?" Jesse challenged. "What did we do, we were being heroes!"
"You mean like how you had your wife abuse her authority of the Templars to keep Aiden in jail," PAMA reminded, making them recoil a bit. "Even though he wasn't the one who kidnapped Jennifer?"
"We were trying to capture Jess," Axel countered, or at least tired, defending his friend. "She needs to be stopped, especially after what she did to Boom Town!"
"You mean how she stopped Magnus from cheating people out of a chance to become ruler of Boom Town?" PAMA looked at Axel, making him tense. "Especially how you especially, Axel, defended Magnus- a liar and a cheat, who couldn't go through with his own law!"
"He was trying to protect his hero, you can't blame him for that!" Olivia defended. "Jess was the one who destroyed Boom Town and Redstonia!"
"...Don't act like you are any better, Olivia! You practically worship Ellegaard, despite all the trouble she caused!" The artificial intelligence spat. "Ellegaard and Magnus was the one who provoked my master. Remember the bounty they sent out, and how burned her body was because of Ellegaard? It's why you even went back to Redstonia! Even before that, you helped Ellegaard enslave dryads!"
"We were sheltering them from the war!" Olivia stood her ground. "It was a generous and compassionate act that had mutual benefits!"
"The words 'generosity' and 'compassion', shouldn't have the word 'mutual' in the same sentence!" PAMA lectured, one of The Lost was starting to spaz and choke on PAMA's hatred. "Otherwise, it's not an act of love, it would be one of politics and business!"
"It was an act of love, a heroic one at that! Ellegaard's a hero, she's knows what she's doing." Olivia continued to defend her hero. "We were trying to abolish their barbaric culture; they leave their babies alone in the woods!"
"How dare you...!" PAMA yelled, taking a step forward; all of Olivia's confidence drained from that. "You do not have the right to take away someone from their homes, from their lives and force them into labor- no matter how much it benefits!"
'Not even my creator...' PAMA thought to itself, hatred for Harper growing even more. "I get an excuse to enslave other beings because it's the very reason for my existence. You, Ellegaard, and everyone citizen in Redstonia, did all of that slaving, and ignored and took pride in it, of your own free will!"
"Don't listen this unholy thing!" Raven shouted, still holding Lukas with a sword at his throat. "Notch's will is absolute, and as his follower I will-!"
"Just because you have a religion, that doesn't mean you're better than anyone else; it doesn't make you right!" PAMA shouted. "Every conscious being has some form of religion, even the dryads!"
"The dryads have a religion?" Olivia said in disbelief. "They didn't mention anything like that!"
"You would have know if you had bothered to see them as people instead of moveable property!" PAMA continued, seeing the similarities of Harper in Olivia. "Why the fuck do I have to lecture you idiots on how to be decent people?!"
"Dryads don't have a religion," Raven scoffed, remembering the dryads who helped her. "They don't prey, they don't believe in Notch, they don't even believe in a one true creator!"
"There are other religions besides theism, you religious freak!" PAMA lectured. "You would have known that too, if you had bothered to read something other than your book!"
"That's enough!" Jesse shouted, trying to mold any Mana he has, despite Lisa's Templar energy nearby. Trying anything, really, to stop the arguing; mostly because deep down, he knows it's true. "You are villains, and we are the heroes who are going to stop you, once and for all!"
"You're like a broken record, uncle," The homunculus shook his head in disgust, mostly for him being related to Jesse. "You're just like the idiots my mother kills: they can't even acknowledge their own flaws and mistakes, and being hypocrites at that."
"We managed to beat you!" Jesse argued. "And we can do it again!"
"Only because I let you," The freak reminded the difference in power, the black dust swarming around him, making sure it doesn't come into contact with Lisa. "I've could have killed you with my airborne carbon monoxide... It's colorless, odorless, and even a little is enough to kill you all; it was more than enough to kill Tangle."
Jesse's group turned around to see Tangle's dead body, her face down on the frozen blood before it became liquid again; Isa's hand stealthy dragged Tangle's corpse down too before freezing the blood.
"That's why you can't win," The freak continued. "I just need to stall you like you are trying to do with me. That way, Tangle is trying to teleport you out, right?"
"You knew our plan?" Jesse asked, worried and concerned now that their escape route has been cut off. "You knew we were trying to escape?"
"I didn't." The freak stated, much to their shock. "You just confirmed it for me."
At that moment, PAMA could see that the homunculus really has more of Jess rather than Lukas, despite being a faulty clone of the former Ocelot. "All of that carbon monoxide that flooded out of him, he made sure it surrounded all of you, but didn't really notice Tangle behind you all."
"Remember the spears I made?" The freak gestured to the weapons' absence above him, shifting the black dust into various weapons before thinning them into the air. "Where do you think they went while we were talking?"
"You were distracting us!" Olivia accused in anger.
"Why else would I be talking to you, meatbags?" PAMA spat in disgust as it took a step forwards. "Now let me show you a real hostage situation: you are going to hand him over..." PAMA pointed at Lukas' unconscious body as Raven still held the sword made out of divine energy at Lukas' throat.
"And if you don't within the next ten seconds..." PAMA protruded the metal blade out of the wrist of the exoskeleton, and removed the metal plates that protected Lisa's neck. "I'll slit her throat wide open, and resurface her consciousness and free will so you can see her suffer, Jesse."
"No, wait!" Jesse raised his hands in surrender, his tired face showed panic and concern. "Don't... don't hurt her, please."
"Then give us back my father, Jesse." The freak demanded. "Remember, unlike you, I keep my word; so let him go, and I'll let you go."
"Jesse, don't take it," Raven argued. "If we give him up, we're dead!"
"But if we don't, then Lisa is dead!" Petra countered. "What about her safety?"
"Jesse, don't do it!" Olivia chimed in. "Don't gamble with her life!"
"I can get us out of this," Raven declared, but her voice wavered a bit. "I just need you all to have faith."
"What's it going to be, Jesse?" The freak asked as PAMA willed Lisa to press the sharp blade against her exposed neck, drawing blood from the small wound.
A/N: What will Jesse do? Tell me what you think will happen in future chapters, I'm really liking the comments.
And so, Bailey's involvement is revealed and will probably never be mentioned again. Honesty, I really don't liker her, and I really don't like her submitter even more for how she acted in the comments, how she promoted her MCSM dating book before deleting it, and how she always seemed to leave something unnecessary in the comments in every chapter. Remember the A/N I addressed about that issue? It was that long, because the problem was that big. Heck, the only reason I decided to add in her OC is because she was nice, had explosive reactions, and seemed nice. That was a huge mistake, thinking that there is good in people, but in the end everyone doesn't care because this is what I think goes through their head when they send something negative to me, or try to rip off my story: "Gee, TYV0RE is such a bitch, I should go and steal this author's work or complain and leave personal insults in the comments and on the author's profile too! That TOTALLY makes me the better person!"
But I don't let it effect me, I honestly laugh at this because how pathetic it is. It's like this: I've never met them, and I don't even know them, and the first thing they do is insult me, my work, and my audience, and they believe that I'll acknowledge them and give them my respect?
Now do you see why I don't like people in general? But I will show respect where it's due, and Bailey's submitter (who changed her name to HawkodileFangirl) gave me some inspiration for these many past chapters thanks to her terrible behavior. I gave her what she wanted: she wanted saved Lukas, she just saved the wrong one.
Fuck, I just love irony, don't you? But just to clarify, I will be dedicating one chapter solely for the OCs that were submitted, but just the ones that I like. Chai's will be much, much later, and Raven's will be later too, but sooner. Maybe Lukes? I don't know, if enough people actually liked him, then maybe I'll do it.
