Chapter 86: Clockwork Part 11
Jess POV
Ping!
You have gained the skill [Demonic Anchor]!
[Demonic Anchor] (Active) Level MAX Cost: Varies
This skill allows the user to create an Anchor, a focus point of energy to bring a being into to their location from another plane of existence. However, due to Maura's tampering, you can determine the size and location of the Anchor with Mana.
Requirements: Having material/energy/substances related to those beings you are trying to summon.
Range: Diameter increase of 5 blocks for every 100 MP spent.
Duration: 1 hour for every 1000 MP spent, but you can manually dispel the Anchor to banish the creature back to its plane of existence.
Now this is a skill! At first I didn't realize why I would need an increase in size of the Anchor, after all I am only summoning one thing. But thanks to my high Wisdom and Intelligence stats, I realized one thing...
What if I summon multiple beings from that plane of existence? With this could easily bring ghasts from the Nether, or more endermen from the End.
It's just like summoning an elemental guardian, you just need a high elemental affinity in order to summon the appropriate guardian. The individual itself is the Anchor.
I do have similar skills, such as [Summon Elemental Guardian] and [Elemental Harmony].
[Summon Elemental Guardian] (Active) Level 10
Summon the manifestation of an element into its physical form. Make sure to have a high elemental affinity for the corresponding guardian, otherwise it will turn against you!
You can only summon an elemental guardian of primary elemental aspect. You cannot summon a sub-elemental guardian.
Cost: 400 Mana
Max Number of Guardians: 6
[Elemental Harmony] (Active) Level 10
You can now combine elemental guardians to create sub-elemental guardians. Make sure to have a high elemental affinity for the corresponding guardians you are combining, otherwise it will turn against you!
You can undo this action and turn the sub-elemental guardian back into its primary elemental forms.
Cost: 400 Mana
Max number of sub-guardians: 3
Max elementals to combine: 2
I only used these skills during the Tournament, earning them when I was in the Twilight Forest with a, now dead, Lukas... what a shame. I find something precious there, only Ellegaard took it away from me, and I can never get it back.
I'll never know why that motherless abomination tries to be like Lukas, he's just a sick child, clinging to something that can never be obtained. All he can do now is do what I ask and die, except he can't do the latter.
I have been asked why I'm not avenging Lukas. I just care about something more than an arrogant blonde who tried kiss me atop of an ur-ghast's tower! I let out a happy sigh at that memory; I punched him repeatedly for his failed attempt before we continued our short-lived journey.
Although I do find it unsettling that creatures like liches, nagas, hydras, and other similar monsters respawn. I shouldn't be surprised, it's not like they have a plane of existence, that's just how the world works.
And if elemental guardians do come from somewhere, then what will happen when I used [Demonic Anchor] to summon them? Would I summon multiple elemental guardians, or will I get something much more nasty?
I can't wait to find out.
But then how does Maura come to me when I use the skill to summon him? Maybe I'm the Anchor that roots him here, more specifically the power the Harbringer, Death, gave me. Perhaps it's just a more advance version of [Summon Elemental Guardian]? But what amount and combination of the primary elements summon Maura?
He told me that it's the will of the individual who summons him that creates an Anchor, or maybe it has to do with mechanics and laws that run reality?
I just shook my head of those thoughts, it doesn't matter if I figure it out, but it does change things. I mentally called for Blink, my mutated and deformed enderman.
In a burst of purple particles that are actually his eyes, he appeared next to me. I looked at him, and he still hasn't evolved into something else, unlike Box, my shulker. Perhaps there is a limit to the evolution sub-skill for [Creature Tamer], but if it is true then Box wouldn't continue to evolve. Maybe it has to do with Blink not being a normal enderman?
Again, I'll never know. All I can do is enhance him with my own means now. Besides, he's powerful enough to defend himself. "I need you to get Isa," I looked at him with my single eye. "And get one of PAMA's slaves... they should be close; PAMA sent the live ones running away from the confusion to hide."
After he teleported away, I continued to look at the Clockwork Fortress in the distance. That motherless abomination wants to avenge Lukas, but he's about to learn that no good deed goes unpunished.
----------
"This... ends... now," Raven tiredly spat, ready to pass out any moment. She pointed both of her scarred hands at PAMA, her book floating in front of her as it glowed bright. "<Holy Smite>!"
Ten white circles with a smooth design evenly appeared around Raven. From each one, a single perfect blade of white light rushed out at high speed, flying and curling in the air.
It didn't matter to PAMA, it knew where they were going to hit: two in the eyes, two in the arms, two in the legs, and four in the chest.
That was the beauty of having high processing power, when you just put a small amount of effort; everything seems to move uncomfortably slow.
And it did- from the snow, to the holy blades as they left a faint trail in their wake, and everything else ticked away as PAMA pondered its thoughts.
Sure, PAMA call for its slaves, they're still around, just invisible thanks to the fog. But PAMA won't, when Lisa dies it will spark a wrath inside Jesse.
That freak, Raven, will be in his path of rage; Jesse is still watching from the iron wall, screaming in protest as Olivia passed out from her injuries while Petra is still blind.
PAMA started to laugh. "Typical meatbags," PAMA muttered. "Never realizing that single victories carry dire consequences for others."
Yet PAMA felt a tingle of concern and sadness for Jennifer. Was it because the little girl is one of the few to give PAMA unbiased compassion, or maybe it has to with PAMA accessing Lisa's memories?
PAMA scoffed at that. Who cares about the little meatbag after she finds out her adopted mother is dead? Who cares that PAMA will no longer see Jennifer's caring smile, her innocent laughter, her hugs, or the appreciation she gives like Jess...
What would her cries sound like when she finds out she lost another mother? PAMA didn't want to picture that; it didn't want that to happen. PAMA's master already knows what a crying child sounds like, and it's heartbreaking.
It was at that moment, inside her incased head, PAMA felt tears stream down Lisa's face. Why did PAMA's wrath ignited, and found new fuel to burn, the computer will never know why. Maybe there is one thing that it can do to save Jennifer's mother...
The blades were approaching; Raven's tiredly gaze over as she fell. PAMA prepared all of Lisa's remaining Mana to expand out of her body, with the assistance of the exoskeleton expanding too. The chains that bind the body will shatter all at once, and at that moment PAMA will eject Lisa out of the way before the chains.
Making a critical decision without consulting its master, all PAMA could hope is that Jess would understand its logic. However, right before the blades were about to close in on its target, the ground exploded under PAMA's feet.
Being launched up, the chains shattered, but before PAMA could eject Lisa out of the exoskeleton, a large black box emerged from the destroyed ground as the roof of the same box took form of a large mouth.
It protruded up, opening its dark jaws revealing its insides to be hollow room, containing a startled Chai and a very dead Bailey.
CHOMP-!
The massive room swallowed PAMA as it continued to rise out of the ground. The action shook the ground; Raven was no longer tired, the startling appearance before her spooked her out of her fatigue. She stood up and backed away from the rising room until her wings were pressed against the iron wall.
That black box still had a mouth on it, swallowing PAMA, and dispelling the divine chains. Raven held her book opening a page... only to stop, shaking her head in disappointment at her own behavior as she looked up at the iron wall.
Olivia and her friends were still stuck up there, and she left them there, they could have died as collateral damage from the fight! Huge chunks of iron were missing from the structure as Raven can see the stairs inside that leads to the top as the water from earlier seeped inside.
Then there is the other two males here on the snowy, fog-covered ground; both Axel and Luke are unconscious and critically injured. Raven didn't really care, she doesn't know these people. She let out a sigh, knowing that Notch would be disappointed at her behavior.
"<Summon Holy Guardian>" Raven chanted as two white circles with smooth designs appeared on the ground, one flanked her sides as two armored beings rose.
[Holy Guardian] Level 777
They ran pass the large black box that's rising out of the ground, their large bodies at a height of four blocks gave them longer strides as the snow gently breeze passed their white armor.
Despite the sun being blocked by the snow clouds above, these constructs' armor that cover their entire bodies still glow a sense of comfort and power.
They ran pass the black box, which started to lose some of its shape, and quickly grabbed Axel and Luke, and leaving the dead cultist in the snow. Raven used <Minor Creation> to form ladders made out of divine energy for the constructs to climb up.
Raven scolded herself for letting her pride get in the way while she watched her divine constructs quickly climb the ladders, still carrying the injured males. She should have just done this earlier and escaped with Olivia and her friends. Heck, she has cleric spells that can teleport, this all could have been avoided!
But no- she just had to act as if she's Notch himself! Saying who can and cannot live; she's no better than the fourth Emperor, and those other morons who think that Herobrine is real.
Raven mentally promised to repent later as clipped her book back to her belt, and stretched out her black wings and prepared to fly up. Getting into a crouch, and with a strong flap of her wings, she flew up the wall as the gale kicked down and blew away some of the unnatural fog.
She cried out in agony as two black needle-thin blades extended from the towering black box that swallowed PAMA; one of the blades sliced down, the other sliced up. Either way, Raven is falling to the snowy ground as her black feathers and blood followed her all the way down.
A/N: Welp, you've seen the 'room' that Chai is in, and reminded that Bailey is officially dead, and not coming back. I just did not like her character, fun to torment, but not to be around. Still, I think I showed clearly how powerful Raven's book is in this chapter. With that type of power, who wouldn't try and play god?
The next chapters will show Jess' intentions for the Clockwork Fortress, and one more OC submitted. And as for the OC submissions I've received, mixed among the hate mail I get, I just shake my head in disappointment at these Mary Sues. Even the insults are getting stale. Do people just skip the A/N's and what I have to say? That was a dumb question, this people I'm talking about! Of course they would do something like that!
Oh, and for that author, who shall not be named, and who gave me that offer in my inbox: I'm not going to add your OC in this story. I don't care if you submit multiple pieces of fan art of this story to me, I'm not adding in your cringey OC.
As for the rest of the audience, don't offer me fan art, only if you want something out of me. If you send me some, I appreciate it, but don't force yourself to do it, or use it as a bargaining chip to get something out of me.
