Chapter 83: Clockwork Part 8 (With Q&A)
Axel and Luke ran out of the "Offering" room as a cultist submerged inside a liquid body of thick blood chased after them.
The two males ran as fast as their terrified bodies could carry them while the cultist, no longer resembling anything human, let out a spine-chilling roar as she smoothly slid across the ground.
They found themselves back inside the jail, now empty of people as fog leaked through the bars Luke placed earlier to prevent the invisible undead from entering.
But he also prevented them from escaping too, trapping them both with the blood mage hot on their trail. Axel, improvising, used his massive strength to rip out the iron bars from the cells and barricaded the path behind them.
"Lets go!" Axel shouted, punching through the iron bars that Luke placed, and rushing outside. They inhaled the cold air outside as the snow continued to rain down.
They're alone. No refugees. No invisible undead monsters wearing black armor with red eyes. Nothing but the layer of fog that's covering the ground. "Where is everyone...?" Axel whispered in the cold.
"I think," Luke panted, clearly exhausted and shivering a bit from the cold. "I think we lost her; we're safe."
"Define 'safe', Luke." Axel tapped on his shoulder, and pointed to the massive hole in the thick obsidian wall, the ground still covered in fog.
But beyond that, a swarm of fresh undead monsters were making their way towards the Clockwork Fortress. "You've got to be kidding me," Luke shouted in disbelief. "More undead monsters?!"
"This just keeps getting worse and worse," Axel concluded, letting out a cough. "We need to find my friends, they'll know what to do."
"Where do we even start-?" Luke went silent as he looked back at the inner wall of iron to see a massive mechanical golem clinging high onto the side of the iron wall.
Axel followed his gaze, mouth open in disbelief. "Can this get any worse?" Axel complained.
A second later, a pillar of blood burst out of the ground in front of the two males; Luke let out a startled scream from the sudden action.
Two clawed hands emerged from it, gripping the fog-layered ground as the blob-like mass of the cultist from earlier emerged. The veins from her hood was spread all across the blood body she's submerged in as a circle with a dot in the center, representing an eye, is on the head; moving as if it is the real thing.
"Oh, come on!" Luke whined as he and Axel got into a fighting stance, ready for conflict.
"You are a candidate," The cultist from within scolded Luke, her voice echoed and layered and mixed in with hundreds of other tones and different voices. "How dare you run away from your destiny!"
"I make my own destiny!" Luke retorted. "And I don't even know what you're talking about!"
"To join the crimson collective," The cultist detailed, gesturing to the bloody mass she is submerged in. "We are one, joined together to please the one true god!"
"Why would he join you?" Axel stepped forward. "You're just a bunch of liquids held by Mana!"
"Silence, you fat oaf!" The cultist insulted, pointing a clawed, liquid hand to Axel. "A sacrifice shouldn't speak out of its place!"
"Sacrifice?" Luke repeated.
"To feed the bloody god," The cultist explained before shifting the liquid so she towered over Axel. "We our one, blended in the crimson, for we carry the will of the one true god!"
The crimson eye started to glow, no longer pulsing like heart like the veins. "And we shall cast judgment on the weak..."
The liquid body started boil, wisps of evaporated blood stared to coil off the cultist as she burned the vitality of the blood to fuel her dark magic while a crimson energy started to form around her.
That same energy spread out in the air, blending with the water and wind that makes the cold. She lurched forward and unleashed her power, but not before Axel leaped out of the way to the right, and tackling Luke out of the way too.
FWOOSH-!
The howling of wind never stopped as the two males watched in hypnotic horror. The blast that originated from the eye was the same color as ice, but had the intention of death.
It spread out in a cone, fanning out, easily destroying the thick obsidian wall and the massive migration of undead monsters beyond the wall.
Axel could barely see it all, the snow flaks raced around in blind panic, obscuring his and Luke's vision. But a sense of fear overcame him when he saw the liquid mass of blood, much smaller due to using its own body as fuel, turn towards him and Luke as the blast continued.
SPLAT-!
Then it happened. The golem that clung to the iron wall fell from a great height, and squashed the cultist when it landed and caused a small explosion.
Axel shielded Luke with his own body, felling shrapnel of metal bounce off him as he felt the cold blast digging into his back. After so much pain, they looked at the wreck.
The great, terrifying machine had kept its basic humanoid shape, but metallic innards and limbs were bent out. The right arm is missing while its upper and lower body got separated.
Axel glanced up where it was on the wall, only to see a bright light emitting from the massive hole the golem punched through. To his amazement, the bright light repaired the hole, replacing the iron blocks that were missing.
Axel helped Luke to get up from the ground, the fog was blown away from the point of impact as it slowly refilled. Silence passed for a few moments before Luke spoke. "Is... is she dead?"
"I think so," Axel nodded, inhaling deeply to get his breathing under control. "Let's go-"
A needle of blood pierced through Axel's stomach, his eyes widening in surprise and pain as he felt his own blood being siphoned out.
"Axel!" Luke shouted in panic, running to the large male, and attempting to break the connection. The cultist emerged from the scrap metal, sending shards of metal flying everywhere that halted Luke in his charge; her right arm crushed and coated in a thick layer of blood that reached her feet.
Her face is still covered by that disturbing hood, that single eye in the front still moves around, glaring at him as a waterfall of blood oozes from her mouth... the same one that's piercing Axel's stomach.
"Heretic." She growled before slamming her extended limb at Luke, who jumped back and avoided the attack before the ground exploded. Red mist burst under Luke as spikes of ice and stone protruded from the ground before a powerful gale uprooted them into the air.
Axel watched in horror as Luke crash into the ground several seconds later, about twenty blocks away; his body has spikes of ice and stone piercing his arms, leg, and back while the powerful gale made several deep gashes across his body.
Luke wasn't moving. Axel looked beyond Luke to see a large segment of the obsidian wall was demolished while the cultist drained the blood out of his body.
Axel looked up, eyes struggling to keep open, silently praying to Notch to help him. But instead, he saw his wife, and a black-haired girl he never met before, on top of the inner wall of iron. A second later it started to melt as a metal fist burst out of the top, mechanical fingers uncurling to reveal a woman covered in an metal exoskeleton.
How much worse can this possibly get?
----------
Suddenly the wall that Olivia and Raven are standing on started to shake, turning their attention away from Jesse and Petra. The metal under them started to dip as Raven tacked Olivia out of way in time for the golem's fist, that Raven severed earlier, burst out of the ground while liquid metal coiled around it and dripped off back into it.
Both of them backed away, backs pressed against the doors of one of the iron towers as the wall they were standing on was reduced into a liquid state, and being pulled towards the mechanical fist; they had to cling onto the door to prevent them from getting pulled in.
They both watched, mouths wide open, as the fist unfolded to reveal the female PAMA is possessing, standing on the metallic palm, and angrier than ever.
"Your move, meatbags." PAMA growled as liquid metal rose under the female, easily towering over the duo while her blonde hair blows with the cold wind.
Meanwhile, Jesse was far away, as in "the diameter of the inner wall of iron" far away. Now he's watching Olivia and Raven, after using the runes in his right eye to identify her.
Jesse looked to his left; Petra is sitting on the iron ground, holding herself, as she is unable to see. Chai threw a Splash Potion of Blinding at them before he could do anything to help Bailey.
Petra shoved Jesse out of the way, causing him to let out a startled yelp, before the potion hit her. "Oh no..." Jesse whispered as Petra turned her blind eyes in his direction.
"Jesse?" Petra asked, still not used to the lack of sight, and hearing the cultist unleashed blizzard that destroyed the obsidian wall. "What's going on?"
"Too much," Jesse explained. "But I see Olivia, and some other girl, being attacked by PAMA."
"The machine that destroyed Redstonia?" Petra asked as Jesse nodded, only for him to confirm verbally when he realized that Petra is still blind. "How big is that machine?"
"It's not a machine, it's possessing a body with technology," Jesse explained as PAMA willed the exoskeleton-covered female to walk towards Olivia and Raven. "But right now our friend needs our help!"
"I don't know what I can do though," Petra dejected. "I'm close-combat type of fighter, I can't fight blind!"
Jesse had an idea. "...Petra, you can use fire magic, right?"
"Yeah?" She answered, confused by the random question. "Why?"
"Use a fire spell, something powerful and with long range," Jesse explained. "I'm going to copy it, and launch it at PAMA while it isn't aware of us, and then we get Olivia and that other girl out of here."
"Jesse, that's crazy!" Petra protested, getting up from the ground to vent at her friend, but facing slightly in the wrong direction. "You can't just master a spell on the spot!"
"I don't plan to," Jesse reasoned urgently, PAMA is getting closer to Olivia and Raven. "Just with enough control so I can unleash it at PAMA."
"...Fine," Petra hesitantly agreed, but what other choice did they have besides running away? "But put a lot of Mana into it or it will destabilize when in mid-flight."
Jesse nodded at the lecture. "I will, now show me!"
Petra held out her hands, an iron dagger in her right hand as she gracefully moved her left hand over the weapon. A wave of Mana flowed over the weapon before turning into a flame.
In her hand, Petra has a javelin made out of fire, and yet it's not burning her; the fire extending the blade and shaft. "You got that?" she asked.
"I did," Jesse nodded. With the runes in his right eye, one of them contains the skill [Mana Vision]. He can literally see the Mana flow in people and objects, how it moves and changes. Jesse just recreated the same flow.
He pressed his hand on the ground he's standing on, and the iron block near his feet melted into a needle before Jesse made it solid. He then wrapped his Mana around the weapon before concentrating on the element of fire.
Jesse mostly focused on his Terra (Earth) affinity, but he's an elementalist damn it, his Class enhances all primary elements! So on his first try, after focusing greatly, Jesse held in his hand a spear of fire. The flames extended the length of the metal weapon as the fire roared with heat; itching to burn.
"Wow, I can actually feel the heat," Petra commented, standing not too far away, smiling. "And on your first try too!"
"It was my Class doing the work," Jesse explained as Petra nodded, but really it was the runes in his eye. Jesse aimed the weapon at PAMA. "Let's do this."
Jesse took a few steps back before running forward, when he reached the end on the iron wall, he used all of that momentum to throw the fire-covered weapon at PAMA as he unleashed a roar of his own.
It soared through the air, wisps of fire trailing behind as PAMA didn't notice the projectile. PAMA only stopped, willed the blonde female it is possessing to lift its right hand at the flying weapon.
A wall of white fire spewed out from the metal covered palm, Jesse's fire spear stopped the second it made contact, much to his dismay as he is watching the flames; the Mana itself started to be sucked into the wall of white fire and into PAMA!
"You meatbags really are stupid..." PAMA shook her head in mock disappointment; meatbags are so predictable it's not even surprising.
PAMA flicked her wrist, dispelling the wall of white fire, and the metal needle flew back at Jesse and Petra, split into two parts before rapidly coiling around them.
PAMA quickly willed the metal to lift the male and the blind redhead before slamming them next to Olivia and Raven. But before they could react, PAMA swiped her arm in a horizontal arc, a blade of white fire wrapped around them.
Not hurting them per say as the white fire turned to white chains, growing in length and thickness and holding all four of them in place while their Mana gets siphoned to fuel them. Jesse immediately recognized this. "You're a Templar?!" he shouted in disbelief.
"Wasn't it obvious, meatbag?" PAMA sassed.
"What, what's going on?" Petra shouted, still blind. "There's a Templar, and it's being controlled by PAMA?"
"It appears so. Still, a Templar so far from the City?" Raven asked, she only heard rumors of the fearsome and mysterious Templars. "So that's how you were able to counter my divine magic!"
"Exactly, freak," PAMA said that last for with amusement as Raven flinched from that. "Even the redstone meatbag's Mana weapons were easily countered, although the bomb she detonated took a bit more effort to escape."
"That shouldn't be possible," Olivia protested. "The Templar Class should cancel out your Mana; that Templar shouldn't be possessed at all!"
"The ignorance of you meatbags never surprises me. I'm in full control of this body, with it I can easily control the flow of the Mana-disrupting energy of Tempars, and still use Mana." PAMA revealed, much to their shock. "Besides, I don't use Mana to enslave people, I never had."
"But how else could you do it then?" Olivia shouted, a revelation in her flawed technologic reality. "Mana is the very reason why redstone technology is advanced now!"
"Mana is just another fuel source to power me!" PAMA shouted, the females angered voice sounded familiar despite being mixed with static and at a high pitch. "My creator made my core functions using the raw materials of redstone; never using an outside source of energy."
"How is that possible?!" Olivia protested, she and the other three still being restrained by the chains as their siphoned Mana made them grow bigger. "There's no way someone can create something that advanced without Mana; I, not even Ellegaard, couldn't even do it!"
"The answer is simple," PAMA spat, hatred clear as she pulled out a small redstone chip. "My creator is smarter than you, dumbass."
Olivia made an audible gasp from that insult as Raven Scribed the redstone device, fear growing as she gathered bits of dark information from it. "Where did you even find a Templar to posses?" Jesse shouted, struggling a bit to breath as the metal PAMA coiled around him and Petra restricted his chest, including his lungs, to expand.
"Probably from the City when Jess attacked at the Tournament," Petra reasoned, still blind. "There were some Templars missing-"
"No, those are my masters personal property; I'm not allowed to touch them." PAMA interrupted, then spread her exoskeleton-covered arms wide. "But this one, she gave me to have fun with!"
"Just think, meatbags!" PAMA mused, enjoying the frustration and confusion, taking a deadly step forward. "Where would I get a Templar, one that is female and with blonde hair, when I am so far away from the City?"
PAMA let out an amused, and disappointed sigh when none of them answered. "And here I thought I made it obvious enough..."
The red eyes that are behind the lenses slowly closed as the red faded away. The metal helmet that incases her head, covering her face, split into four parts, and bloomed open like a flower before turning into liquid and retracted back into the exoskeleton.
Her blonde hair flowed naturally with the wind as her eyes opened to reveal that they are no longer red... but a loving blue.
"Y-You?" Jesse croaked, tears threating to spill out.
"Hello, honey," Lisa greeted, her voice normal and full of love. "I've missed you..."
A/N: Sorry for the long upload, school once again occupied me. Still, bet you didn't expect the body PAMA is possessing to be Lisa! Now, for the questions, I will only be answering the ones that have a purpose not some random miscellaneous question. Now some of you decided to send me questions in my inbox, I can understand privacy. For those questions, they will be labeled [Anonymous]. My responses will be after the "A:"
[Winter_Blitzz21] asked. "Will there be a fight between Jess and Jesse. If there is, what chapter also is there a book two?"
A: Well, there already was a fight between the twins! Chapter 17: Reunion, remember? For a book two, of course, but I plan for that to be season two, or the later of season 1.
[_Pine_for_Apple_] asked. "Is 'No More' related to some games? Such as Counter strike with the classes and levels?"
A: First, let me be clear, I don't know what Counter strike is. Second, yes, it is, but not to that game, since I've never played it- let alone heard of it. I mostly use stuff from Dungeons and Dragons, God of War, the Dragon Age series, and other anime and video games. I'm surprised people haven't picked up on that.
But also, this is a fanfic of the webtoon comic, The Gamer. I've seen other fanfics of it of other stuff on other fan fic websites, but not one watt pad. I've seen one just like the webcomic, but that's more of an original story rather than a fanfic because let's be honest, that webtoon comic doesn't own the rights of video game themed stories!
[JustGave] asked. "How many would all of the classes be?"
A: A lot, there are still more I didn't add into the story yet. Hope that answers your question, sorry, but I didn't understand it due to the wording and grammar. So for a brief review, here is all of the known Classes: Necromancer, Paladin, Conjurer, Warrior, Ranger, Alchemist, Wizard, Elementalist, Inferno Assassin, Berserker, Golem Tinkerer, Illusionist, Red Mage, Druid, Cleric, Templar, Witch, Blood Mage, Rouge, Vitalizer, Harvester, Puppet Master.
[I_Kill3d_D34th] asked. "Who's the father [of Jess' son]?"
A: Wow, I thought people would ask about who the son is, considering you all have seen him! I can't go into to specifics, but he's blonde, blue eyes, and an archer. But let me say this: Jess' son wasn't born, he was grown. Let that spoiler-ish thought sink into your head.
[DarkPugLord23] asked. "Is there a chance that either Jess of Jesse might go on a rampage?"
A: Yes, it will happen. But imagine both of them, working together, putting their differences aside to unleash their buried grief! Think of the slaughter...
[The_Winged_Warrior] asked. "How did you get into the MCSM fandom in the first place?"
A: I was looking for a good fan fic on this series, because Fanfiction.net didn't have anything good, and then I decided to look on wattpad. Lo and behold, I found... only a few good authors and their stories (yours was one of them), the rest was nothing more than one-shots and cheesy romance fics that weren't even that good.
The characters personalty would chance without reason, going against their character, and the romance would go from 1 to 10 within a few sentences and all I could do is cringe as I struggled to find a good story.
But I decided that I want to find a MCSM story to my craving, then I'm going have type one myself... and here we are.
[_Queen_Creeper_] asked. "What inspired you to write such dark stories?"
A: The idiocy I'm surrounded by on a daily basis. The dark immoral thoughts that I picture in my head that helps me fall asleep as I dream of a screaming world of contradictions and hate. Even behind a computer screen, I just have to deal with more morons.
[rosequartzTHEBAWS] asked. "*raises hand* am I gonna stay dead this time?"
A: Yep. You're dead. I had something planned out when your OC was going to die, basically it was just torture smut that Chai was going to force on you as you slowly die. But I reread her character description, and she's not that brutal, unlike Jess, and I settled for a one-sided fight.
Actually, since you're dead, I can reveal this. I got messages in my inbox, not the normal hate mail, but reasons why Bailey should be killed off early or removed from this story! Some people noticed in my writing that Bailey was just so bland, the casual fangirl of an Ocelot that lacked confidence.
Plus, they noticed that her OC request in the comments lacked detail of her personality, which I made a recent A/N about stressing this problem. And they were right, I should have removed her, but I decided to give this OC a chance.
Only for rosequartzTHEBAWS to complain, send me hate emojis, and contradict her character. I should have just used one of my side characters...
But I stopped these people, who are huge fans by the way, from reporting rosequartzTHEBAWS when she promoted her MCSM dating book in the comments on chapter 52! Now I told them not to, and thankfully they didn't because recently I can't find that comment, so she either deleted that comment or I missed it. Hopefully it's the former.
[Anonymous] asked. "When is that RWBY story coming out?"
A: I might cancel that. Mostly due to how little information there is about RWBY that the fan base argues over, and I just don't want to deal with that! But I still might send it out.
[Anonymous] asked. "You talk about getting a lot of hate mail, sorry that you do (you're a great author!), but you find it funny, so what was the funniest hate mail you've received?"
A: Ooh, that's tuff. The most funniest one I've received was when this girl sent me FIVE paragraph of why she hates me and my work. I cracked up and had a smile that could split a face.
Basically, it went along like this, and I will be adding my thoughts at the time in parenthesis.
"I'm sorry for saying this, but it has to be said" (No you're not, no one sends me positive mail!)
"I don't like your story, and the themes it has" (Then why did you vote on chapters 1 to 40 and beyond, then? Read something else!)
"You use swear words and talk about sensitive subjects and that's wrong!" (No, ignoring them and acting like these things doesn't exist is WRONG!)
"So I hope you go back and change it, if you don't I'll report you." (Why would I do any of that?! I don't even know you lady! And go ahead and report me, I don't care, you're not the first or the last to threaten me with that! :p)
Here's what really made me laugh, I live in a different timezone than this girl. I'm in school and I couldn't reply to her. So hours later after she sent the message, and when I got home onto my computer, I see this five-paragraph hate mail... and four more!
Seriously, she sent me four more messages, that are also five paragraphs long. I checked the times when they were sent, and they're only under ten minutes apart per message!
The first two is about how I'm a bad author because the stuff I write is dark. The third is that she gets so upset that I didn't immediately didn't reply to her, so she decided to send more hate mail thinking that "TYV0RE is ignoring me like a bully!" no, I got school and a life. The last one is her saying that I'm evil, that one actually felt like a compliment, and that I will only write evil things.
People, the only other story I have on my profile is that Star v.s. the Forces of Evil fic, and it's literally a suicidal depressed Star and an evil psychopathic Marco! What else would I write about?!
I wish I took a screenshot of those messages because this girl's account is gone! She's gone! So the messages she sent me naturally deleted until I couldn't scroll down to see the rest, and eventually gone. What will I do for laughs now?!
[aureliabw965] asked. "This is so random... what do you think of Luke? And which version of Alice did you pick?"
A: Okay, for those of you who don't understand, these are the brother and sisters' OCs that they submitted to me. But honestly, I don't like Luke or Alice at all.
Let me explain, she sends me a request to get her OC added, then when I confirm this with her, she demands to have her brother add in too. So already I'm disappointed and losing respect for these two. I then get a long description of Alice's character description, that was missing some important details, but then I barely get anything on Luke's character other than what he looks like, his Class, and his current inventory! That's not a living character, that's an existing background picture at best!
And then only much later I finally get his personality, which should have been presented in the first place, only to see that's it just like every bland character description of other OC's I see from other authors or the ones submitted to me. So already I think he's boring and naive, but I could still work something out that made him play a key part in the story since I just replaced him with a planned-out side character I had prepared for the plot.
As for Alice, I didn't like either descriptions of her, because aureliabw965 sent me two versions: one is her as an elementalist, the second is a damn werewolf power! It's so cliche, and still I don't have her personality, only her backstory of how she's best friends with the Ocelots, and then Aiden kept her secret, but she didn't even tell me the reason why! Oh, and surprise, other OC requests have the same backstory, so again I'm starting to not like this OC!
And her werewolf power? Totally unique to her alone, making her OP because, according to her, she can transform whenever she wants with no negative drawbacks! As for her elementalist one, she didn't tell me what elements she controls! Already I'm picturing her a Mary Sue, so I still haven't decided which one because I know that if I don't use all of the details, or try to fill in my own to make her realistic in this world, I will just get more complaints in the comments and more five-paragraph hate mail in my inbox again.
