Chapter 8: Countdown Part 3

Jess continued to laugh, almost shedding a tear. This is what she likes to see; the raw emotions bleeding from the soul.

She watched Lukas crying over the edge of the nether brick bridge, constantly weeping for a good 5 minutes. This made her slightly confused.

After calming herself, the laughter was reduced to giggles, then silence as Jess continued to watch Lukas. The crying was reduced to sobs, then nothing as he continued to look down into the lava. After inhaling a deep breath, he got up, turned to face Jess.

"Why... would you do this?!" he shouted, his eyes still red and puffy from crying. She just shook her head in disappointment.

[Lukas] Level 45

She thought that since they are a higher level, they would be a challenge to her. But with [Observe], she was able to find out more about them, what their weaknesses are. In the end, she only discovered emotional baggage that has been swarming between the four.

"Answer me!" he demanded.

"Or what?" She asked.

Lukas was taken back by the response. "What did you say?" he asked with narrowed eyes.

"Answer you, or what?" she clarified. "Will you give me a death threat like Aiden? Perhaps you will you insult me like Maya? Or will you be silent and full of rage like Gill?"

"Don't you dare talk about them, just shut up!" he shouted.

"Or what?" she asked again. "You expect me to care about your friends? To be honest, I have no remorse for what I have done." She replied.

"You didn't have to kill them!"

"I didn't need them alive either." She spoke bluntly.

Lukas pulled out an iron sword. Instead of feeling intimidated, Jess felt disappointment. "So you've chosen to use physical force." She said in a disappointed tone. "You really are arrogant."

"Shut. Up!" Lukas said, holding the sword in both hands. His grip became vice-like as he was trembling with anger and sorrow.

She just shook her head. "You are such a disappointment, you know that? You don't do a thing to stop your friends from trying to rob me, and now you're mad because I defend myself. Where's the sense in that?" she asked.

Lukas couldn't take it anymore, no matter how truthful she was being, he attacked. He charged at her, swing his sword in order to cut her down. Jess got bored as she easily dodged all of his sloppy attacks; rage and grief will do that.

When Lukas went in for a stab to her stomach, she sidestepped slightly to the right, grabbing his sword by the hilt with her left hand, turned to the left and pulled him forward, then she kicked Lukas in the stomach. Sending him back across the nether brick floor without a weapon.

"Really, attacking a girl? Who isn't armed? You're more pathetic than I thought." She said as she tossed his sword over the edge into the lava below.

Lukas got back on his feet, injured, as he ran at Jess, ready to punch her wither skull off her head. He raised his right fist, and punched forward, and let out a scream.

Jess simply stepped to the right again, except this time she sharply raised her left foot and made it connect with his groin. Lukas slumped over as Jess gave him a punch to the face.

As he recoiled from that punch, she grabbed his collar, pulled him forward and gave him a head-butt. It didn't help that she's wearing a wither skull on her head as her head collided with his.

She then kicked him again, sending him sprawling on the ground. Lukas was on his face, but he managed to lift it up, looking at the approaching person with barely opened eyes that are swollen with pain.

Lukas then felt something lift him up to his feet. Looking over his shoulder, eyes widening to see Aiden holding him up. He heard footsteps behind him, and turned his head to see Maya, who is being carried by Gill on his back. "Lukas!" Maya shouted. "Are you okay?" she asked as Aiden stood protectively in front of him.

"You-you're alive?" he asked disbelieving. "I saw you all drown in the lava, she stabbed you guys with arrows and threw you in!"

Gill walked forward, presenting the arrow. "Lukas, these arrows saved us!" he said with an impressed smile, his inner potion nerd jumping around excitedly. "The arrow head is coated with something." He said as he handed it to Lukas.

"Is this," he looked closer at the weird arrow. "potion liquid?"

"Potion of Fire Resistance to be exact." Said Gill.

He turned to look back at Jess. "So you didn't kill them?" he asked.

"I never said I did." she replied as she walked dangerously close to the edge. She sat down, pulled out a normal book and quill, and started to write something down.

The Ocelots had so many questions. Gill was the first to step forward. "How did you make these?"

She shrugged. "I learned."

"...Do you think you can teach me?" he asked, hope in his eyes.

"Maybe... maybe not." She replied coolly as she casually continued to write in her book, ignoring the danger below.

"Well why did you send us over into the lava?!" shouted Aiden, shoving Gill to the side.

"You tried to rob me... but I couldn't rob Lukas of his friends." She said without looking at him. "Besides, I'm not going to waste time killing off idiots, I have standards."

Aiden wanted to push her off the edge, but she did have a point. So he grumbled something under his breath as he glared at the ground.

Maya limped forward, still injured. Gill rushed to help her move. "So... you're not mad?" she asked.

"I never said that." She said with an angry tone, still not looking at back, making them flinch. "Just remember that I won't be so kind next time we meet, so watch your mouth next time." She warned.

Finally, Lukas stepped forward, asking the one thing he and his friends have in their minds. "Who are you?" he asked.

She stopped writing, a few moments passed, and when he thought he wouldn't get an answer, she replied. "So stupid... and yet so cute." She said, shaking her head, putting her things back in her Inventory, and pulled out a diamond longsword.

Maya raised her eyebrow, Gill and Aiden were looking at her weapon, and Lukas blushed, but their eyes widen as she leaned forward and off the edge.

They all ran to look over the edge, only to land on their backs in surprise as a ghast quickly rose up... with Jess on top of it, with the sword impaled on the top, her black cloak flapping at the new altitude.

Even though Jess became level 50, thanks to her minions killing the blazes, she still has to wound the ghast in order to use [Creature Tamer] on it. It also helped that she was able to spot it with [Battlefield], showing the ghast on her 3D map that only she can see.

"Hey Gill, think fast." She said as she threw her Potions of Healing at him as he barely caught it. "For your sister. It won't cure her, but it will help." She said as she turned her attention to Lukas.

"Catch handsome," she said, tossing him a normal book. "It's blank except the font page." She said as her ghast took her away as the dumbfounded Ocelots became smaller and smaller until she couldn't see her anymore. She sent a mental command to her minions to meet her back at the Nether Portal.

When they finally arrived, they all went through the portal, including the ghast that Jess named Steam.

When they all cam back to the temple, she ordered Steam to stay and guard the portal. She walked with her minions to the main area, Ivor hard at work.

He glanced over his shoulder. "Jess, you're back- what happen to your minions?" Ivor said, looking at her minions with curiosity.

She took off her mask, cloak, and armor, and handed it to her minions to hold. "I found a way to make them stronger. I'll tell you later, but I think I'm going to sleep." She said, stretching. "I've always wanted to go to the Nether, but I didn't think I would be so tired." She said, satisfied.

"So how was it?" asked her one-eye friend.

"Not too bad." She replied. "And to think that Petra thought I couldn't take care of myself in there." she said as they shared a small laugh until Ivor went back to work and Jess went to her room, plopped down on her bed, and opened Conquest.

Who knows what she'll do tomorrow, she still has a few more days until the Enderdragon fight... maybe she could teach Gill a few things about potions? It feels weird seeing familiar faces.

But if Gill really knows stuff about potions, then he should be able to tell that one of those potions she gave him is a Potion of Harming with colorful dye mixed in to make it look like a Potion of Healing.

---------

The Ocelots watched as the Stranger flew away on her ghast, but Gill was too focused on the potions he received. 'Something is not right...' he thought, looking carefully at the two potions and recalling his miniscule potion knowledge.

Maya and Aiden are still looking up, even though the Stranger is gone, and both of them having different thoughts.

'She's so cool!' Maya thought. 'Maybe next time we can get her to join?'

'I should have that sword!' Aiden thought angrily with envy. 'That ghast, and those nether stars should be mine. I'll find out how she controlled it, and use it to blast Jesse into smithereens!' he mentally declared.

Lukas snapped out of it, and looked at the front page of the book he received.

Go back to where you spotted me, I left a little present behind. And keep the horse, I found a better ride.

See ya later, Blondie~

He walked up to the horse, and petted it. "So I guess you're ours now huh?" he rhetorically asked with a smile.

They let the horse carry Maya as they all walked back to where they first spotted the Stranger. The chest where she got her nether stars from are still there.

They crowded around the chest, opening it. Their eyes widen to see that it was mostly full with blaze rods and blaze powder, with a few stacks of glowstone and quartz, and a few ghast tears.

"I can't believe she gave us all this stuff." Said Maya, eyes wide. "She pretty cool."

"I can make so many potions with these, and your medication!" Gill said happily, picking her up and spinning  her around as they both laughed.

"She should have given us the nether star-" Aiden grumbled, only to be cut off when Lukas slapped him behind his head, and gave Aiden a glare that shut his mouth.

The Ocelots took all of the loot, carrying it all back in their inventories with smiles plastered on their faces as they made their way out of the Nether; motivated to beat the Order of the Pig, believing that their new build will totally make Jesse's cookie fountain from the last Building Competition look like nothing.

A/N: So yeah... I decided to end it with something positive. I'm in a good mood. Also a brief message to  Sassy_Cassie-101: "Thanks for being my first follower. Here's a cookie." (::)
