Chapter 74: Explaining

After the screaming, black tornado died down hours later, I walked across the carbon-covered ground. Blink following me as I also summoned my air guardian to keep the air fresh for us to breath by blowing away the carbon in the air.

I saw the freak on his back, once again his body is freshly regenerated, destroyed from his tantrum. And once again, he reminded me of a dead blonde.

"Feel any better?" I asked sarcastically, the barely visible gust of wind generated by my air guardian blew the carbon dust away from me as it poured out of his body.

He just groaned, placing his hands on his eyes; covering them. "How could I be so dumb?"

"Because you never thought your plan through." I stated coldly. "Let's start where you went wrong: why did you cripple Axel?"

"To pressure Jesse into leaving Bailey," He answered sitting up, deflated blue-white eyes looking at me. Filled with embarrassment. "Add that on with the fact that none of them can beat me in a fight, and they're at a disadvantage since I severely injured one of your brother's friends."

"Then why didn't you cripple someone who is more of a threat?" I criticized. "Axel took the blow, but I know you were after Olivia."

"Who else would be a better target?" He questioned, being defensive. I killed enough people to instantly recognize that type of tone. "I couldn't attack your brother."

"Literally, anyone else besides Axel and Olivia would have been better!" I snapped, patience thin as my rise in volume made him flinch. "Axel is a close-range fighter, and Olivia is nothing without her redstone. Petra on the other hand, would have been a better target, and if you actually did this, her fire clone of Bailey wouldn't have fooled you in the first place!"

"I just needed someone injured to pressure Jesse into leaving Bailey behind." He argued. "I didn't think it would matter who I hurt with my scythe."

"But if you effortlessly made your scythe flank them from behind without them noticing, then why didn't you just kill Bailey?" I pointed out. "It would been so easy if you didn't mention your scythe to them!"

"...I was just trying to make you proud of me," He whispered hesitantly, who wouldn't if your so-called 'perfect' plan had major flaw in it? "I wanted to try and be like Lukas-"

"No... Lukas died a long time ago," I interrupted, tired of this repeated argument. "You're just a freak trying to avenge him while trying to become him. You don't even know what kind of a person he was: someone I actually tolerated and had little respect for."

"...What was he like?" He hesitantly asked.

"Lukas was somewhat like me: a genius among a world of idiots." I described. "Everyone else was too slow to catch up to him, but he purposely slowed down."

"That was his flaw: he was simply kind... too kind." I shook my head. "It wasn't the type of kindness that everyone appreciated, it was the type of kindness that everyone took advantage of." I should know, I used to be like that.

"What made him smart?" the cloaked man asked, focused on my words of a dead blonde.

"He actually fought smarter, not harder." I continued. "Lukas was smart enough to realize that just because you have high levels, teamwork, or motivation, you wouldn't automatically win."

"Lukas was humble, never having that attitude where you feel like a god, and can do whatever you want just because you have magic." I met too many people who acted like that, Lukas was one of the few that didn't. "He was smart to leave the Ocelots, who were honestly holding him back; using common sense when he encountered me."

"Like when he and the Ocelots followed you in the Twilight Forest?"

"More like he tried to stop his friends from attempting to fight me." I corrected. "It's sad really; he only wanted a peaceful picnic. He stated the facts: I have multiple Classes, I'm a higher level than the Ocelots, and I literally conquered a kingdom all on my own. He knew that it was a pointless battle; too bad his former friends didn't listen."

"He would have gotten so far in life," I looked up, my gaze distant in remembrance. "And yet, the world is unfair, and took his life before he could truly live it."

"But you?" I looked the abomination before me, my single eye coldly looking at him. "Your existence is just fluke: a joke. Stop trying to be something you can never be: a decent person. You're not even alive- let alone human!"

"I just... I was trying to be smart about the situation..." He said, trembling from my harsh words.

"Then why didn't you go after them?" I continued harassing with obvious questions. "Why didn't you smash that golem into bits, not just disabling it?"

"I didn't think they would escape on it!" He blurted, but still not having the guts to look at me.

"What do you mean, 'didn't think they would escape on it'?!" I countered. "Did just expect then to ignore the mostly-intact golem, which only needed some parts replaced, that was only ten blocks away?! And that's not mentioning that Olivia can easily repair it wit her red mage magic, or the fact you fought my brother on an iron floor; metal that he can easily weaponize, which was literally spread all across the ground in the center of the village!"

"The ring of fire would have prevented them from leaving," He debated, looking at me. "I wanted them to bargain away Bailey's life!"

"You wouldn't have to bargain anything! You just use your carbon monoxide to make them all pass out: that way you get to take Bailey far away, and everyone else wouldn't be able to interfere!" I yelled, pointing out another flaw in his plan. "Why didn't you just do that?!"

I saw him open his mouth... only to close it as he hung his head down in shame. The word disappointment isn't enough to describe how I feel towards this motherless abomination.

"But no, you were so excited for your revenge that it clouded you judgment. So I'm making a decision for you," I said with authority. "You are not going to kill Bailey."

"What?!" He shouted in surprise and anger, standing up, his superior height allowing him to tower over me. "No, she's mine to kill and-!"

CRACK!

I punched him in the face again, sending him sprawling onto the ground. "Not anymore, you lost that privilege." I scolded. "Because if your emotions are getting in the way of your revenge, then either I have PAMA suppress them, or you do your other tasks: Killing the leader of the Clockwork Fortress, and avenging Lukas."

"So what will it be?" I asked, glaring coldly. "Getting an emotionless revenge, or the satisfaction of avenging?"

"B-But I can't just let Bailey go!" He yelled, getting back up from the ground, spitting out several cracked and rotten teeth I punched out. "Not after what she did to me...!"

"Which is why I'm going to help you." I added. "That way you get the guarantee that Bailey dies, and you can avenge Lukas, and kill the leader of the Clockwork Fortress so this never repeats."

"So you're going to help me?" He asked in surprise.

"Not directly, I have other priorities," I let out a deep breath. "Which is why I'm sending other people to help you. After you destroy the last two villages under the command of the Clockwork Fortress, come back here. Three people will be waiting here for you."

"Three? Are you actually worried about me?" He asked hopefully, desperately wanting to hear my tone be caring.

But I actually don't care. I deeply cared about something... but Ellegaard took it away from me. "No, I'm sending three because I want this done already. I'm already reaping in the benefits of your destruction, but it is taking way too long." I explained coldly. "Besides, one of the people I'm sending to aid you wants something from the Clockwork Fortress."

I saw him think for a moment before he became enraged. "No, I won't let that happen!" He defended. "That dark knowledge cannot spread!"

"That's why only I will have it, and one of the people I'm sending to help you." I explained. "And before you protest anymore, do you really think you can stop me from doing what I want? Especially since I'm the only one who can actually kill you permanently?"

The freak then closed his mouth, remembering what I offered him if he actually went through with this. And I always keep my end of the deal.

He nodded in silence, head down. "...Who's going to help me?"

"It's a surprise. Oh, here." I tossed him a bracelet, and the abomination caught it with ease as he looked at it curiously.

It has preserved teeth which has a thin, rusty chain running through it. One of the objects the chain is going through is two, golden concentric circles connected with two thin bars: one vertical, one horizontal. The point where the lines intersect is the center of the golden circles. One of the teeth has a glowing, purple gem embedded into it as the rest have runes. "Something special to help you, don't worry, it don't use any Mana at all."

"Then what are the skills then?" He asked, inspecting the runes on each tooth. "Your skill [Rune Crafting] can have skills assigned-"

"While I did use [Rune Crafting], I did something completely different to give that object power." I interrupted. "I tested out my new Class: Witch. It's the same Class that enhances any witch related stuff: voodoo dolls, Circle Magic, Dream Weaving, spirit summoning, and even brewing and necromancy."

"Heck, I can get a familiar if I wanted to." I bragged. "Even the skills in the Witch Class that are related to brewing and necromancy stack with my other skills for them."

"You became a witch." He stated rather than asked in disbelief. "How?"

"Baba Yaga: a very powerful and ancient witch who died long ago during the era of the fourth Emperor." I explained, remembering the reward I got after I quickly completed the quest in the Twilight Forest. "Maura gave me her book, containing all of her knowledge on how to become a witch as a quest reward."

"What you're holding is called a fetish: an object inhabited by a spirit that I bound using witchery." I explained, pointing at the bracelet in his clawed hand. "If I bind the right spirits, and use the appropriate amount of nature energy, I can set the object to do a variety of things... most of them dark."

"So what does it do?" He asked. "How is it going to help me?"

"It does a ritual called [Fortification of the Damned], just drop the fetish onto the ground and let it do the rest as it naturally gather's the nature energy to fuel it."

"Nature energy?" He questioned. "That stuff that druids use?"

"Witches are like druids; we both use nature energy as a power source, like Mana, to shape and manipulate to do a task." I explained. "But the key difference is that witches forcibly draw the nature energy to them using items or altars, while druids gently shift the flow of nature energy using Mana."

"So witches only use nature energy?" He asked, curiosity in his dead voice.

"Yes," I nodded. "With nature energy everywhere, all I need to do I harvest it, shape it, and release it. But you will see that soon. For now, we learn and improve."

"In fact... let me show you something. Invite the freak to Party."

Ping!

Invitation has been set!

All Experience gathered by party member(s) shall be equally divided among each individual!

All members shall be able to access their stats, spend and gain stat points to improve themselves, and gain Experience to level up!

I saw that familiar blue screen float in front of him. He wasn't too surprised since I used the same method when I powered him up. Also, apparently, I don't need the name of the person to invite to the Party, just the intent and knowing whom I want to join.

The freak tapped the 'YES' option on the invitation before the blue screen disappeared.

Ping!

[???] has joined the Party!

Other members: [Jess], [Blink], [Steam], [Box], [Cassie Rose], [PAMA], [Isa], [Slab].

A/N: Ooh~, those last two names! I bet that caught you off guard!

As for the previous chapter, it was Jess using her mutant enderman to teleport the black statues. Incase you haven't figured it out.
