Chapter 58: Redstone Part 1

1 month ago. Jess P.O.V.

I walked though the portal, ignoring the death and destruction I caused at the Tournament, and I found myself in my niece's room. It was small, but full of childish colors and stuffed animals that I got for her.

I saw her on the bed. Her black hair reached down her back as she wore a white sweater, the sleeves reached pass her hands, with a black skirt that reached her ankles. She still wore that pink bow in her hair.

She looked at me, her blood-red eyes shinned with excitement. "AUNTIE!" she screamed as she jumped at me. I caught her and pulled her into a tight hug as she giggled.

I never realized how much I miss that sound...

I put my niece down as her head is barely up to my waist, but her crimson eyes are full of innocence and joy. "I got something for you, Jennifer."

At that moment she started jumping up and down. Repeating over and over "What-is-it-?!"

I pulled out a Nether Star, one out of the ten that I secretly snatched from the floor when I started my assault at the Tournament. It's not my fault my brother dropped them on the ground.

I saw her eyes widen in curious wonder. "WAIT!" she shouted, throwing her tiny arm into the air. "I made something for you! Close your eye!"

I just smiled and closed my remaining eye. "Okay... wait... now open your eyes!"

I opened my eye to see a lump that is poorly wrapped in cloth, and in small, barely eligible writing said: FOUR THAH BEHST ONTEE EVAR!

"For the best auntie ever," I read out loud, much to Jennifer's joy. She totally misspelled the whole sentence... yet I almost cried.

I unwrapped it to find a crude heart pendent, poorly painted black with white blotches to represent flames. I used [Observe].

[Pseudo- Burning Love]

Crafted by Jennifer to give to her adopted aunt, Jess, to help her lessen the pain of losing the things Ellegaard stole form her.

I wore it around my left wrist. The chain was too small to put around my neck. Jennifer looked at me. "Was your necklace the most important thing the bad lady stole from you?"

The 'bad lady' being Ellegaard. I already told Jennifer the false hero stole from me. "The necklace was the only thing left of my parents... but the bad lady took many things from me, and she stole something much more important..." My words slowly died as the memories came back.

"Oh..." Jennifer said sadly, thinking that her gift wasn't good enough.

I quickly pulled her into a hug when I saw the tears in her eyes. "I still love it, thank you." I whispered as I petted her head. She drifted to sleep with a smile on her face while tears slowly stopped pouring.

I left Jennifer in her room, tucked safely in bed as I made sure her room is secure. I even summoned a zombie to keep watch with [Undead Summon]. I let out a sigh. I really, really miss the sounds of a happy child.

I sat inside my own room, resting as I saw the all-to-familiar blue screens. My rewards for my actions.

Quest is now over. Handicaps on [Observe], Mana regeneration, health regeneration, loot drops, and on the physical body has now been lifted!

I love doing a hard quest. High risk means high reward. But I can't believe I still didn't get a title! I will look at my stats later, I need to talk with a certain redhead. I changed into my white, red-sleeved shirt and overalls.

I felt my Mana regenerate like normal as my skill [Observe] is no longer limited to names, Classes, and levels, but now including titles, species, even elemental affinities! But I'll worry about that later, I walked out of the house to sit on the front steps and saw my current surroundings.

The Far Lands, living in a cottage created by Ivor with the aid of the Command Block. Not to mention the large, bottomless pit where a small floating island is where the cottage is built on.

Then there is the maze Ivor placed to keep people out at the other side of the pit. He had a redstone contraption, a barge to get across, but it was never completed. So I can only assume he used the Command Block to get to the cottage.

This was the place we were going to move to after we fought the Ender Dragon, a place not on any map. The perfect place where Gabriel couldn't find us.

Well... I guess it's, Gabriel couldn't find me, now since Ivor is gone. He built this place in secret. I've always wondered where he would go whenever he left the temple. I guess it's here.

Then there are the rooms! A grand library. A secret room of the Order's treasures. A replica of the End, with replica Ender Crystals and Ender Dragon to go with it. There is even a locked room containing an enchantment book created by the Command Block, and the original End Crystals!

Although I do find it ironic that Ivor used the fake story his former friends spread as the clue to unlocking the door...

The only thing inside this place that made me feel bad for Ivor was his armory. Inside he had armors made for the Order of the Stone, for his former friends. I guess a small part of him thought he and the rest of the Order would get back together again, go on adventures, putting the past behind them while they continued being friends.

He could have never been more wrong.

Eh, it's his house... too bad he's no longer here to enjoy it. Jennifer's room was actually mine. Ivor added it in for me, ready to welcome me in.

To be honest, I wouldn't have found this place if it wasn't for the note he left behind after we left for the End, prepared for his death. But, and I still can't believe it, leaving a note behind? It was as if Ivor knew he would die soon...

I saw Cassie arrive not to long after, a crimson portal forming as she stepped out, holding Winslow in her arms. Oh, and Maya is with her too... great.

[Cassie Rose] Level 300

Class: N/A

Title: Chaos personified

Species: Old Builder, Chaos Sorcerer

Elemental affinities: [High] Heos (Chaos).

Cassie Rose is from the dimension of the Old Builders. Why she left is unknown, but she desires to return. Her plans were ruined when her friends, the Youtubers, abandoned her in this dimension as a joke. Too bad she's not laughing.

Who knew I would find people like me? Abandoned, alone, remorseless, and full of hate. I'm glad I found a powerful friend. I nodded at her as she sat down next to me. "So what now?" she asked me.

"Now," I said as I pulled out a jar with an Aura Node inside it. "We make you stronger."

She and her cat looked at me in surprise. "You couldn't have possible gotten an Aura Node already! I still have the contents of the Astrolabe Vault!"

And she still does. The Astrolabe Vault contains the knowledge and secrets of Aura Nodes, Chaos Sorcerers, and other advanced things.

Plus, I quickly gave Cassie the contents after I stole it from the Astrolabe Vault. So how did I already know how to find one?

"My friend, Ivor deciphered the knowledge left by the Old Builders." I explained. "I simply studied and filled in the gaps using logic and common sense."

"Then why did you have Winslow posses a Templar, slaughter everyone, and then go inside the Astrolabe Vault yourself?" asked Cassie.

"Because the formula to decipher the knowledge is still incomplete." I explained. "What I didn't know, is that Aura Nodes are undetectable without the proper equipment to find them."

I held up the jar. "This Aura Node was discovered by Ivor, who only found it by chance."

"Well, if Aura Nodes are undetectable, and if Ivor's knowledge was incomplete," said Cassie, tapping the jar. "then why can we see it?"

I glanced at the Aura Node inside the jar. It looks like a black, miniature sun with streaks of other bright colors spiraling around it. I shrugged. "Like I said before, Ivor simply figured it out by chance."

[Aura Node]

A physical manifestation of elemental affinities. Ivor, the betrayed member of the Order of the Stone, found this Aura Node in the Far Lands.

Even though it has been moved, this Aura Node is still connected to the area it was discovered and tampering the Aura Node will affect the land in return.

This Aura Node has the trait of gluttony, so feeding it other Aura Nodes, items, or people, with high elemental affinities will cause this Aura Node to produce that elemental affinity and affect the area it is connected to.

Current Affinities: [High] Aer (air), [High] Ignis (fire), [High] Aqua (water), [High] Terra (earth), [High] Lux (lightning), [High] Ordo (Order), [High] Perdito (Entropy), and [High] Heos (Chaos).

"All of the primary elemental affinities inside this one Aura Node," I explained as I adopted a small smile, amazed that Ivor's experiments unknowingly made this thing stronger. Plus, with it being in the chaotic, unpredictable Far Lands, it's unexpected to see the Aura Node gain a Heos (Chaos) affinity.

"But now with the contents inside the Astrolabe Vault," I continued. "I can properly extract the affinities inside, and give them to us."

Of course, I couldn't drain too much because I'll deplete the Aura Node and affect the area it's connected to. The Far Lands are dangerous enough as it is. So I'll drain the affinities a bit at a time while the Aura Node refills itself.

Cassie looked amaze at the potential in power until her gaze hardened on me. "Wait, what do you mean by properly?"

"Kingdoms, cults, and people, have found ways to increase elemental affinities or extract them from people. I tried my own experiments and they all ended up in failures." I said bitterly.

"So where are these, 'failures'?" Cassie looked at me, using air quotes, not dropping Winslow.

"Inside the maze." I replied casually as Cassie looked across the gaping, bottomless pit. It's not like I had a shortage of prisoners, stored somewhere else of course. Ever since that bounty, and the people who didn't return trying to complete it, I never have a shortage of test subjects.

"But if you have all of this power, then why don't you expose the Order?" asked Cassie.

"Expose them how?" This situation feels familiar.

"Couldn't you just unleash the Ender Dragon?" asked Cassie.

"I asked Ivor the same thing," I replied. "and he told me it would be pointless."

"Why?" she asked. Now I can see why Ivor was irritated.

"People blindly follow the Order of the Stone, taking in their words as if they were facts." I explained. "So I wouldn't be surprised if they made up an excuse for why the Ender Dragon is back."

But that wasn't the main reason. When I used [Creature Tamer] on the beast, I unintentionally evolved it into a Void Dragon. It's still in its egg form, but using [Observe] revealed that it's a 5 headed dragon that's capable of mass destruction.

The redhead had a look of disbelief. "Do people really admire the Order that much?"

"People didn't question them when they sent out a bounty against me," I replied. "they just let their own selfish desire fuel the justification for hunting me down."

"So there's no way to expose them as liars?" Cassie asked. Man, that question is really starting to annoy me...

"Not unless they confess it themselves." I said. "Without proof, it would be like telling someone the religion that they have been raised to believed, and followed their whole life, is nothing more than a lie."

"I can only image their denial and stubbornness... so what do we do with her?" Asked Cassie, gesturing to a terrified Maya, and I can tell she's desperate to change the subject.

"Three things." I said. "First," I grabbed the two Hell Rings, Sigh and Despair, off of Maya's fingers, and placed them back on my left pinkie and ring finger respectively.

"Second," I ripped off my right arm, undoing the stitches as I used [Flesh Harvest] to reattach Maya's arm back to her body, ignoring my bleeding stump and her gaged screams.

"Third," I looked at Cassie, and pointed to the maze on the other side of the bottomless pit. "Throw her in the maze."

"But couldn't we use her?" asked Cassie. "You did go through a lot of effort to fake her death. We have her as a hostage, we could demand her for something."

"Demand what?" asked Jess. "More importantly, from who?"

Cassie was about to open her mouth when Winslow looked at her. His eyes flashed crimson, silently explaining why her idea is pointless.

"Gil and Aiden is the only people who cares about Maya." Realized Cassie.

"Exactly." I nodded. "So what could two, arrogant, jerks possible give us?"

"Nothing that you want, and nothing that I need." Answered Cassie. "And we have Gill's sister, Ana, now. She's a much more valuable hostage to Gill, possibly Jesse since she is innocent and never did him wrong."

It's all true. I keep Ana hidden in a cell made out of obsidian, with iron bars on one side so Ana can have some ventilation as she's still unconscious.

I keep her attached to that rune set up Gill installed to keep her healthy, even going as far to add in my own potions to stabilize her. She's still asleep for now. She will play a very important part later on.

"Finally seeing things clearly now, Cassie." I looked at Maya, her eyes pleading for mercy. "Put her in the maze, and meet me inside."

"For what?" the redhead asked.

"Redstonia," I said, the name itself fueling me with hatred. "It's time I paid Ellegaard a visit for what she stole from me."

And with that, I walked back inside the cottage. Knowing that Cassie would do as expected. But Cassie is wrong about one thing: Maya can give me something that I want.

Entertainment.

A/N: Yes, Jess P.O.V., and we'll see how Redstonia was destroyed!
