Chapter 55: Exposure Part 3

"Well what are we then?" screamed Aiden. "If we're not morons, then what are we to you?!"

She tilted her head to the side. "You, Gill, and Maya, are nothing more than entertainment for me!" She shouted and started to laugh again. "You arrogant morons, the arguments you make, the pitiful insults you spit, the ignorance you have, are just fun puppets to watch, manipulate, and break."

"Well, what about me?" hesitantly asked a curious Lukas. "What am I worth to you?"

She looked at the blonde, her face blank as she stopped laughing, and taking a second to gather her thoughts. "A freak of nature..." Jess said as she pulled out her diamond longsword.

Lukas was confused. "What are you talking abou-!" Blood spilled from his mouth like a waterfall when Jess rammed the sword through his chest.

But she didn't stop there. She twisted the long, diamond blade deeper into his bleeding chest. Jess held Lukas close, like when a parent hugs a child as she sliced down, cutting down in a diagonal slice until the blade reached the bottom of his spine.

Lukas grunted in agony with each jerk of the blade as his organs were minced and diced, oozing out of his grave wounds while consciousness slowly faded. His world became darker, blurring into a hazy grey as Jess still held him close.

"Shhhh," she whispered into his ear while she stroked his hair before placing her letting her grip loose of her sword, letting it stay inside his body as she placed her free palm against his left eye, and pumped some Mana into it. "It will all make sense soon... my abomination."

Despite that, he couldn't help but smile at the irony. He wanted to be close to Jess, looks like he got what he wanted as he closed his eyes and slumped over...

Jess held Lukas' still body for a second before tossing it onto the ground as if it was nothing more than garbage. She ripped her diamond longsword out of the corpse as she flicked the blood off of her blade before putting it away.

"JESS!" screamed Aiden as he charged at her. He pulled his fist back, ready to make her black eye even worse, but he stopped in his tracks when he saw Jess turn in his direction and gave him a bored, cold stare. Then the horrible memories came back as he stood frozen in fear.

... Jess throwing the Ocelots into the lava in the Nether ...

... Jess using a lich to terrify the Ocelots in the Twilight Forest...

... Jess convincing Lukas to leave the Ocelots as he glared at them with such hate...

... Jess brutally beating them up in the Twilight Forest...

... Jess making Maya's 'death' so painful and terrifying...

... Jess' cold, remorseless laughter...

... Jess torturing them for information about the bounty poster sent by Magnus and Ellegaard...

... Jess and her redhead accomplice stare at him as he was framed for a crime he didn't commit...

... Jess killing Lukas in cold blood as for some strange reason he smiled...

... Jess' horrible, terrifying, cold green eyes ...

No matter how much anger fuels him, Aiden is still traumatized over what happened. For once, he learned from the past as realized that he couldn't beat a demon like Jess.

He's simply too afraid, too weak... so it was no surprise that Jess walked pass Aiden's frozen, yet shaking, form as slipped a folded piece of paper into his pocket. She whispered into his ear. "Give that to Gill." Her voice left no room for argument.

Jess then looked at Cassie, nodded in her direction as the redhead smiled and formed a portal under herself and her cat; ready to complete their final task as Jess walked towards her brother.

Only to be stopped by Lisa. Drawing her black longsword. "You're not going anywhere, Jess," she shouted. "And you are not going anywhere near my husband!"

"You're really going to fight me, Lisa?" rhetorically asked Jess as she tilted her scarred head slightly to the side. "And here I thought you cared..."

"Not for you!" The blonde spat. She took in a deep breath. "When I first heard about you from your brother, I thought that you would be a troubled girl who just needs love and security."

"And now?" asked a bored Jess.

"I only see a demon," Answered Lisa. "A demon that wears human skin!"

"Oooh, dramatic aren't you?" teased Jess. "Are you going to kill me, Lisa?"

"No, I'm better than that. I'm going to take you into custody, and find out what you did with my daughter!" Lisa declared confidently, with her Templar presence she should be naturally disabling Jess' Mana flow. "You can't fake your innocence, Jess, killing someone in broad daylight prevents that."

Her sister-in-law just scoffed at the declaration. "Arrogance taints even the most noble," Said Jess, recalling a history lesson from Ivor. "You could come after me... but what about your Templars?"

She then willed her air guardian to drop the sound barrier. Immediately, everyone who's conscious had to cover their ears as the people who are unconscious, like Gill and Olivia, woke with a startle.

But Jess? Screams like these are nothing more than a lullaby. She walked pass Lisa, who dropped her sword as she fell to her knee, gripping her head to try and silence the screaming.

Ping!

You are now out of range of a local Templar, all Mana based skills are available again!

Jess dismissed the blue pop-up screen as she felt her Mana flow through her body properly, and continued to her brother's shocked body. She's actually surprised that he can still stand despite the combined screaming of her ur-ghast and the slaughtered audience.

"Jess! Why did you do that, you didn't have to kill him!" Jesse shouted, pointing to the dead blonde as he saw a girl from the audience hop down into the battlefield.

Jesse felt relieved when he saw her go to the dead blonde instead of his sister as he saw the mysterious girl crying and pointlessly trying to heal Lukas with a Potion of Healing. He couldn't hear her, but he could tell she is grieving.

Jess curiously followed her brother's gaze behind her as she saw a girl with brown hair, green eyes, and wearing torn jeans and a silky yellow tank top.

[Bailey] Level 232

Class: Alchemist

Jess narrowed her eyes at the new person, stretched her left hand out at the mysterious girl while she prepared her skill [Mana Arrow]. 'It's been a while since I made someone into a pincushion...' she thought to herself.

Jess felt her brother tackle her to the ground. "I'm not letting you take another life!"

"Another?" Said Jess, faking ignorance while she's pinned onto the ground. "I never took a life-"

"Shut it!" he screamed. "You just killed Lukas in cold blood!"

"No... Lukas died a long time ago." Jess replied cryptically, shaking her head, making her brother confused. Yet it was enough for her to slam her left palm into his right eye.

She simultaneously activated her skills [Transmutation] and [Rune Crafting], warping Jesse's right eye to fit two runes into it as Jess installed the skills [Observe] and [Mana Vision] into it.

It all happened within a heartbeat, yet it was fast enough for Jesse to register the pain as he fell over on the floor, clutching his bleeding right eye. Jess got up from the ground, dusting herself off. "Maybe now you'll have a chance to survive in this cruel world, brother."

"What," Jesse grunted, getting up from the ground, and still holding his bleeding right eye. "What did you do?"

"I gave you a gift," said Jess. "It will take a while to heal, but you're strong, unlike your fragile friends..."

She then leaned in close to him. "...So think ahead when you plot against me next time." Said Jess, her voice clear throughout the sounds of the audience screaming, knowing this won't be the last time the two siblings will run into each other.

"I didn't think this would happened..." admitted her brother. "I just wanted you home."

"Well, to be honest, I did know Gill would plan something against me, with you since he's so desperate... I just didn't predict the damage you would cause by provoking me," She then gestured to the slaughter. "Look at the damage you caused. This is the result of a naïve boy who can't protect his loved ones from his own family!"

"I just wanted my daughter back," said a sad Jesse, holding his bleeding eye. The screams of the audience being slaughtered grew louder. "I just wanted you both back, safe and knowing that you're loved."

"Are you that stupid? You could have gotten your daughter back anytime you wanted, brother." Jess pulled out the voodoo doll, the same one she gave to Gill, from her Inventory. "You had the tool to do it, the whole time..."

She tore the wool doll, ripping its head off before tossing it forward onto the ground. The doll turned into ash while it rearranged into a circular pattern as a portal transparent portal formed floating in the air.

And through the portal they saw Jennifer siting on a bed, playing with a stuffed animal Jess got her for her birthday as her back faced towards her father. "Jennifer!" screamed Jesse as he ran to his daughter, only for him to get knocked back the second he got near the portal.

Jesse got up from the ground, no longer holding his bleeding eye. "Jennifer?" he whispered, and hesitantly moved his hand toward the portal, feeling an invisible force harshly shove him back, preventing him from reuniting with his daughter as the image rippled.

But Jennifer didn't noticed, her back is still facing Jesse as she's oblivious to her father's calling; even when Jesse started charging against the portal, yelling for her, but only to get pushed back when he got too close.

Jess watched as her brother exhausted himself, collapsed onto his knees, looking desperately at the portal as Jess pulled out the enchanted obsidian shield. "... And you had they key to enter too." She finished as she kicked her grieving brother aside.

"You could have gotten her back any time you wanted; too bad you didn't because that was the only easy opportunity I'm giving you." Said Jess to her stunned brother as she gave him one final warning.

"Next time, plan out your attempt to capture me more thoroughly." She warned, then stepped through the portal as the obsidian shield, enchanted with {Thorns VIII} was able to reflect the force the portal emitted back into itself, granting Jess safe passage through.

In an instant, the portal closed behind her as Jesse stared in disbelief, ignoring the chaos lingering around him. His sister foiled his own attempt to bring her home, he's not even close to getting his daughter back, people have died, and now he has more questions than answers!

Where is his daughter? Where is Jess hiding her? How is Maya alive? Why did Jess fake her death? Who is her redhead accomplice with the calico cat? Why is she assisting Jess?

Why did Jess frame Aiden? Why did she abduct Jennifer? If Jess knew that he and the rest of his friends planned against her, and if she changed her original plan and caused all of this destruction and chaos, then what was her original intent? Why did she do all of this?

How did she lose her eye? Why is she covered in horrible burns? Did Ellegaard have something to do with it?

Why did Magnus and Ellegaard put that bounty against his sister in the first place? What did Jess mean when she said that 'Ellegaard took something from me'? Damn it, what did Ellegaard steal from his sister?!

He turned around to see that the ur-ghast is gone, along with the air guardian, and the redhead with the calico cat.

Lisa is shouting at her Templars to get the wounded treated while his friends looked in despair in all of the destruction they, unintentionally, caused by trying to foil Jess' plan.

Aiden went to Gill, and handed him the note. As he unfolded the paper and read it, his eyes widen in surprise and he then, quickly, ran out of the coliseum.

The girl, Bailey, that ran down from the audience to Lukas, with the torn jeans and yellow tank top, is now unconscious on the ground. Who is she? Why did she try and help Lukas?

But then he noticed something missing... a certain blonde to be exact.

"Where is Lukas' body?!" Jesse whispered in alarm.

A/N: Dun-Dun-Dun~!

Give thanks to rosequartzTHEBAWS for her OC, Bailey, who's also a huge fan to this story, so give her a round of applause!

*CLAP-CLAP-CLAP-CLAP-CLAP*

Sorry I couldn't fit it in the exact way you wanted, I had to add you into my planned out plot, but you gave me some more things to write about, and a transition to the next arc of the story, so once again, thank you! \[^w^]/ *hug*

So far the major questions are:

What will happen next? What did Gill read that would cause him to run off? Where is Lukas' body? And most importantly, what did Ellegaard took from Jess?

Anyone care to take a guess~?
