Chapter 23: Boom Part 5
Sometime in the far future
"Don't you do something else that's... not scary?" Jennifer asked her aunt.
"Of course I do." Her aunt replied. "I love doing art."
"Why art?"
"Art it simply a reflection of its creator... and my reflection is a nightmare: an undead horror wearing souls of the living as clothes."
"Why don't you do it more often?" Jennifer asked. "You could do that instead of hurting people."
"Because when I put effort into my art, then my creation becomes an abomination. Something even I fear."

Then a large shadow covered us, practically blocking the sun. "I would say this has been fun... but it got boring really quick." I said as I jumped off the platform.
Just in time for Magnus to look up to see my undead colossus jump on top of him, stomping him through the platform as it shattered under its unholy weight.
Magnus was stomped into the ground, forming a massive crater as a large shockwave blasted out; destroying the surrounding buildings as debris flew everywhere.
I was launched by the shockwave, flying along with the debris as I flipped once in the air, landed on top of a destroyed building, and used [Leap] to jump on top of Magnus's obsidian tower. I wanted to get a good view.
I watched as my undead colossus was currently stomping Magnus into the ground as my wraiths and ghast guarded the exit to Boom Town. My lich tyrant was flying around, killing any griefers as it gained more levels.
Although while some still tried to escape, others just watched in horror as their 'hero' was getting squished like a bug.
As my undead colossus raised its foot, ready to continue to turn Magnus into paste, three arrows flew into the undead colossus's face, and beeped twice before exploding; causing it to stumble back as it grabbed its face.
I saw Magnus quickly get to his feet as he dashed away from my monster, shooting his explosive arrows at him in a volley of three as he ran.
I should have known he would survive that; he's level 700 after all. But I could tell from [Observe] that he's injured.
When my undead colossus raised its fists and slammed the ground, Magnus planted some TNT before the impact as he dodged out of the way.
The large explosion ripped off its decayed hands as it screamed into the air, enraged. It started to stomp, kick, and smash the ground, trying to kill Magnus.
It managed to kick him, sending him high in the air. While Magnus was airborne, my undead colossus craned its head at him as it unleashed a constant stream of white fire; trying to incinerate the rouge.
Magnus tried to fire more explosive arrows as he fell towards the approaching flame, but only for them to prematurely detonate as the fire ignited them.
He then did something I didn't expect. He pulled out some TNT and detonated them near himself, blasting him out of the way of the fire to the left.
He was falling to the left as he flanked the undead colossus, shooting more explosive arrows while he rolled at the last second, shifted that momentum to get a running start to avoid the giant foot that stomped down a second later.
It looks like my monster has Magnus distracted. Looks like I can now make my move. I used [Geo-kinesis] to open a hole on top of Magnus's tower, closing it behind me as I descended on obsidian platform.
I reached the bottom of the tower, where there was nothing inside. Disappointed, I opened the wooden doors that lead outside to see a stone bridge covered in runes. Using [Observe], I found out that they have an elemental effect.
Some shoots ice spikes, while others electrocute. A few make you explode while the rest simply poisons you.
It was then a second later the blocks under me collapsed. I fell and landed roughly onto a bridge over a lake of lava. On the walls are dispensers and on the path on the bridge are more runes.
Fascinating.
I simply erected my own bridge by pulling blocks under the lake of lava, avoiding to setting off the traps as I made my across.
Inside, after disarming a few more traps, I found Magnus's room. There are only two words to describe it: sad and rewarding.
It is a large obsidian room, with a massive portal on one side of the wall with an orb on a pedestal. After using [Observe], the portal is created by another rune, and the orb controls what to show.
So that's how he kept an eye on his kingdom...
I also found blueprints for that crossbow weapon Magnus has, along with the explosive arrows. A journal containing Magnus's thoughts, his diary to be exact, and picture of the Order of the Stone with everyone in it, smiling.
I put it all in my Inventory, but as I opened Magnus diary and skipped all of the emotional stuff, I read his research on runes.
Amazing. By drawing complex geometric shapes, he could create runes that store Mana, release it, and give it shape or an elemental form; like a fireball, or a lightning bolt.
It was after I was done reading, a pop-up message appeared.
Ping!
Do to reading a detailed book about Magnus; the skill [Rune Crafting] has been unlocked for purchase!
I opened the page where I buy skills; all of them listed how I want. It may be in alphabetical order, or the cost of Divine Points from least to greatest.
So after skimming a bit I finally found it, and paid 10,000 Divine Points, leaving me with 5000. So I used it all to also buy the skill [Running].
Ping!
[Running] (Passive) level 1
This skill passively increases running speed by 10%.
[Rune Crafting] (Active) Level 1 Cost: Determined
Created by Magnus the Rouge. This skill allows you to automatically craft complex symbols, on any surface, that contains Mana.
The runes potency is determined by how much Mana you put into making it and skill level.
You can only assign what effect a rune does if the skills you have are compatible.
While it is a good skill, I need to train it more. Basically when I give the stored Mana in the rune a form when released, I'm just shaping it into the spell I want it to be.
But that's only determined by what skills I know to assign the rune. Since I know [Geo Kinesis], I can assign it to a rune.
However, since I don't know any teleportation skills, or anything advanced, I can't assign it to a rune. That's why I'll have my mutant enderman, Blink, salvage it when I'm done here. Why do the research when I can simply reverse engineer it?
Magnus's stuff was good, valuable even. And while I did need to get to Magnus, finding him wasn't the true reason why I'm here in this place.
I looked at the portal that showed the fight with my undead colossus and Magnus. Magnus is actually winning.
"Hm, looks like I'll have to intervene after all." I said out loud.
I mentally commanded my undead colossus and my lich tyrant to come to Magnus's tower, while still keeping Magnus to chase after them.
I went back on top of the obsidian tower and saw my monsters running towards me. My undead colossus was missing its left arm, limping, and was missing chunks of its decayed flesh.
Sure, he could regenerate it all, but not as fast as Magnus chipping them off. I could have my lich tyrant intervene, but this has gone on too long now. It's time I claim what I came for when I set out to journey here.
When they were close enough, I used [Leap] to jump on top of my undead colossus, my lich tyrant floated to me as we all turned around to see a wounded Magnus, who just caught up.
He is injured, bleeding even. Some of his armor was dented and broken as his cape was burned off. But he still found the strength to glare at me as he's taking deep breaths.
"So... you finally... come out ... of hiding!" he said, between breaths, pulling out his crossbow and points it at me.
"How ironic." I said. "The man who hides like a coward is upset that his opponent is hiding. I guess you know how your citizens feel when they try to hunt you down."
He fired his weapon, but using [Geo-Kinesis] I ripped some obsidian form his tower and blocked it. Looks like I struck a nerve.
"Impulsive as always Magnus." I said as I hurled the obsidian at him, only to be shot down by a bunch of red lasers.
It was then I saw on [Battlefield] that all of the griefers were running up to Magnus, some teleporting as well. Even Axel.
I guess his own body fat broke his fall... or he just respawned.
They all ran up and surrounded Magnus, but not in a hostile way. It was more... protective.
They all had their weapons pointed at me, my monsters, glaring at me.
"Not trying to escape anymore?" I asked with a raised eyebrow.
One of the braver one scoffed, and stepped forward. "We're not running away, especially since our king needs help!" the rest of the crowd shouted a "Yeah!".
"You, all of you, would defend Magnus?" I asked with a raised eyebrow. "You do know he's injured, an easy target, right?" I ask, pointing at the wounded rouge.
"We'll do that another time!" someone else shouted. "But for now, we're going to defend our home, our king, from you!"
Then they all erupted into cheers, and I can see that Magnus had a look of surprise and appreciation as some of his citizens helped healed him.
"You hear that!" shouted Magnus. "It us griefers, against you!" he shouted as the crowed cheered him, motivated for the fight.
I ripped out more obsidian out of Magnus's tower suspending the large amount of dark blocks in the air, silencing them.
"Correction," I said out loud. "It's you griefers against me... and it."
I then activated [Bio-Chemistry].
A black, blue, and white, flat vortex appeared under my undead colossus, sucking both of my monsters until they were swallowed completely. Causing everyone else to back away.
I stood on top of the vortex, not getting sucked in. As the violent wind and stray lighting surfaced, striking randomly, I opened my Inventory and pulled out 6 Mana Cores: 1 conjurer, 3 warriors, and 2 wizards.
I then dumped all of them in the vortex. And a second later, it collapsed and disappeared. I stood there, alone, no monsters to back me up.
I simply waited.
"She's by herself!" Magnus shouted. "Attack!" he roared as he led the charge.
Only for everyone to get blown back from the large shockwave as a figure bursts from the ground under me, lifting me up on its head as I was physically elevated.
I looked down to see the flabbergasted faces of the scared, silent griefers as the only noise was my cloak fluttering because of the gentle breeze.
I looked down and used [Observe] on my newest puppet.
[Hybrid]
Level 689
Combining the strength, fire immunity, and fire affinity of an undead colossus, with the supernatural physiology, necromancy, and high Mana affinity of a lich tyrant, this is an unholy abomination that's in a physical form.
With 6 additional Mana Cores infused with its body, it has enhanced magic and fighting prowess as it gained the ability to do conjuration magic.
