Chapter 12: End Part 1

"Oh crud, Oh crud, Oh crud, Oh crud, Oh crud, Oh crud-!" Jess shouted repeatedly as the Ender Dragon chased her across the End. She jumped onto the end stone just in time for the Ender Dragon to fly over her.

When she got up from the ground, she saw the Ender Dragon in the distance, circling back towards her. She started to turn around and run, but saw a horde of endermen advancing towards her.

Using [Battlefield], she saw the dragon coming from behind her, and ducked just in time as the Ender Dragon flew over her with such unnatural speed.

When the beast flew away, she saw the endermen stand unnaturally still, doing nothing as she stared into their eyes.

It was then a horizontal, thin line started to form on their bodies before stretching across their entire width, and before she knew it the upper bodies of the endermen was separated, cut in half by the Ender Dragon's sharp wings.

Jess was tired, so very tired. Fighting the Ender Dragon is not as fun as it seems, especially since she and Ivor have been fighting it for hours now. Her cloak is torn, her wither skull she wore was damaged beyond repair, and she had to toss it or it would have just been in the way.

She was running across the End, full of craters and dead endermen, as the Ender Dragon chased her. Ivor was with her minions as they moved from tower to tower, destroying the End Crystals and placing down a water source; creating a waterfall that drove off the nearby endermen.

Ivor discovered something a while back, when he was trying to destroy the End Crystals at the beginning of the fight.

When the dragon is injured, the End Crystals heal it. But if the End Crystal is destroyed while healing the Ender Dragon, it will cause a devastating reaction and severely hurt the Ender Dragon.

But, the problem was that there are more End Crystals that heal the dragon again; erasing all the progress they had done on the mighty beast.

So that was the plan. Jess would distract the Ender Dragon using her skill [Leap] to jump at the dragon, slicing it with her longsword to keep it focused of her as Ivor did his work.

As the monster was chasing her, she had to slice and kill some endermen that were in the way. She used her skill [Battlefield] to keep track of the dragon chasing her and the endermen, that way she can just avoid them. An Ender Dragon is enough for her.

It sometimes doesn't work out that way and she'll have to fight, but she managed to get a lot of ender pearls thanks to her LUK stat, and she leveled [Blade Weapon Mastery] to level 20.

She continued to run, killing endermen and looting ender pearls as she does. She looked over her shoulder as she ran pass some more endermen to see that the Ender Dragon is breathing not fire, but purple acid. Melting the unlucky endermen into a puddle, as their screams became painful, then silent.

And the dragon, still spewing corrosive liquid, flew closer to the ground, chasing Jess as the wave of acid it was now creating was getting so dangerously close.

-----------

Ivor was going from tower to tower, climbing the large obsidian structures with Jess's minion aiding him.

His armor was covered in scratches, ashes, endermen blood, and some of his own.

Every time he tried to destroy an End Crystal with a bow, the Ender Dragon would target him. So after many close calls with the Ender Dragon's acid breath, he chose to climb the towers instead.

But then he had to dodge the Ender Dragons other attack. The monster shot a projectile, like a fire charge. Except that it was purple and black, it followed him, exploded on impact, and left an acidic gas residue.

After using [Observe], he discovered this is called an Ender Charge. Like a fire charge, but way more dangerous; the unlucky endermen that was caught in the acidic gas residue is an example of how lethal it can be.

He was placing another source of water down on top of the obsidian tower, not even bothering to destroy the End Crystal. He and the minions nearly died from trying to destroy one because they would explode.

So since that didn't work, time for plan B.

After pouring enough water, he checked to see that all of the obsidian towers had enough water pouring down for plan B.

It was then he saw Jess running from the Ender Dragon as it breathed out a wave of acid and was slowly catching up to the one-arm girl.

"Hulk." He said to the massive zombie. "I need you to carry me and Smoke, and jump at the dragon!" he ordered, but the monster didn't do anything. He was ordered to help Ivor with the End Crystals, not anything else. He, and his other fellow monsters, only obeys Jess. "Please, Jess could die." He said, pleading.

Without hesitation, he picked up Ivor in his left hand, and Smoke in his right. The wither skeleton's head started to rotate until it showed its cold smile.

Ivor detached the Flasks from his back, barely containing any potion liquid left as he had to use it many times to survive.

He poured the remains on all three of them, already feeling the familiar boosts they granted. With great speed, Hulk ran to the edge of the obsidian tower while carrying Ivor and Smoke.

He jumped high into the air, soaring in a gracious arc. For a moment at the apex of the jump, Ivor saw the End in all of its still, neutral nostalgia... then screamed at the top of his lungs as they came crashing down on the Ender Dragon.

The Ender Dragon was forcibly smashed into the end stone, creating a massive crater as it stopped spewing acid, although some of it still lingered.

Hulk started ripping off scales off the Ender Dragon as Smoke stabbed at the exposed flesh underneath. Ivor pulled out a Splash Potion of Restraint, a new potion he created that combines the effects of blindness and slowness, and smashed it into the face of the Ender Dragon. The dragon thrashed, and twisted. Knocking off the evolved monsters and Ivor, and then flew away.

-----------

Jess was on the ground, watching as her monster beat the living out of the Ender Dragon. Ivor threw another potion in its face and then flew away.

"Jess!" Ivor said, him and her minions running up to her. "Are you okay?!"

"I'm fine." She said as Ivor helped her to her feet. "I'm just really sore." She rubbed her hand on her bruised back, and saw the End Crystals healing the Ender Dragon.

"Why didn't you destroy the crystals?" She asked, but Ivor shook his head.

"Plan A didn't work." Ivor said. "I couldn't destroy all of the End Crystals, me and your minions nearly died every time we destroyed one. So I did the next best thing. I poured water on all of the obsidian towers to drive off the endermen."

"So now what do we do?" Jess asked. "The crystals keep healing it, how are we going to weaken it so I can tame it?"

"Plan B. We just need to build something to restrain it, something huge."

"How?!" she asked, fustrated. "No matter what we build, the Ender Dragon will just break right through it!"

"But I did notice one key feature: the Ender Dragon cannot break obsidian." Ivor said, walking in front of her, pulling out the Command Block.

"Time for plan B." he said.

Ivor used the Command Block, pointing it at the Ender Dragon as it came circling back around, flying straight at them. The block glowed brighter as Ivor willed its power.

When the Ender Dragon was getting close, Ivor willed the Command Block to change their surrounding environment. He made every obsidian tower slide across the end stone and slammed it the Ender Dragon from all direction; pinning it in place.

All of the water that is flowing on the obsidian towers are still pouring down, and are now creating a massive flood on the Ender Dragon, drowning it as it is unable to move. The extra water that was flowing down the obsidian towers was scaring away the endermen near it.

But it wasn't enough. The End Crystals are still healing the drowning dragon. Keeping it alive while it suffers.

Jess and Ivor looked at the trapped dragon in amazement, and looked at the Command Block. "I think I know why Soren liked this thing so much." Said Jess, realizing why.

But Ivor just glared at the block, silently blaming it for all the trouble it caused with his friends and his life. He put the Command Block away. "Don't worry." Ivor said. "The fight is almost done."

He then pulled out several potion bottles and started to scoop the lingering remains of the Ender Dragon's acidic breath. He then pulled out a brewing stand and started to brew a potion using the bottle full of the dragon's breath.

"Is this really the time for you to be brewing a potion?!" Jess asked.

"It is!" he said excitedly. "I've read about this in the book Famine, but to actually create such a potion is more exciting and worth it!"

"So what does the potion do?" she asked.

"It creates a Lingering Potion. Wherever it is thrown, it will create a gas cloud in the area, affecting anyone in it with the potion effect you used to craft this with."

"So it's like an upgrade to a splash potion." She stated.

"Exactly! Good to know that you are paying attention to the potion lessons." He said, pulling out several dark green Lingering Potions from the brewing stands.

"When I give the signal, have your skeleton shoot the End Crystals!" He said as he ran towards the trapped dragon.

"Wait, what's the signal?!" she yelled, but Ivor was already at the obsidian towers, completely out of hearing range. She let out a sigh and had Bones move towards the obsidian towers.

----------

Ivor was at the top of the obsidian towers, trying to stay on top of the towers as the steep water tries to push him off the edge. He took in a deep breath, and dive into the water. Swimming to the base of one of the End Crystals still on top.

He pulled out a pickaxe and slammed it into the obsidian, anchoring himself as the strong current was pushing against him, causing his helmet to come off. He tried to reach for it as it was swept away in the water, but he could reach it.

'Another good thing lost.' Ivor thought sadly to himself. 'Deconstruct and reconstruct the material. Liquid. Solids. Gases. It's all the same, just in different forms.' He reminded himself as he used his skill [Transmutation].

[Transmutation] (Active) Level 50

This skill allows you to break down matter and reconstructing it for your intended use, shape, or form. You can only shape the matter that is available. You cannot create, only shape.

'When this is over, I'm going to teach Jess this skill using [Teacher].' He mentally said, noting to do it later.

[Teacher] is a skill that he bought that cost him 1000 Divine Points. His book Famine was giving him Divine Points for completing potion assignments she gave him. With this skill, he can teach anyone any skill he knows.

Well, he might use it. Him giving Jess the skill at all, will depend on this next move.

He pulled out the newly created Lingering Potions of Poison from his Inventory, and smashed them inside the water and let go of his pickaxe; letting the current drag him over the edge.

The Lingering Potion of Poison started to spread through out the water. Ivor was barely ahead of the spread as the water carried him.

As the poison started to seep closer to him, he outstretched his hands into it, and used [Transmutation] to turn all the water into poison.

The Lingering Potion of Poison that tainted the water created a blueprint for Ivor. All he had to do was follow it.

As the blue liquid turned a sickly green, Ivor flowed down the poisonous waterfall onto the end stone. Good thing his [Poison Resistance] was maxed out.

It was the first thing Famine had him level up, making him immune to poison... by drinking unhealthy amounts of poison every day as his main source of water. He may be immune to it now, but that doesn't mean he got used to the awful taste.

Ivor looked up to see the dragon struggling to get out as the poison started to take its effects, eventually tiring out the beast as it suffers.
