Chapter 109: Gone

Cassie waited back at the cottage in the Far Lands, looking across the bottomless gorge to see the maze Jess fixed and modified, before she created a crimson portal to take herself over to the large structure.

Winslow waited for her, sleeping lazily in front of the iron doors that lead inside. The feline stretched before sitting up, looking at his master. "...?"

"That's right," The Chaos Sorcerer said excitedly with a cruel smile. "We're going to play with our toy...!"

"...?" Winslow looked at Cassie.

"Of course we can!" Cassie said defensively, but her excitement never faltered as she opened her Inventory, a larger space thanks to Jess' power inviting her to the Party. "This will be our last time playing with her in the maze! Later on, we got to take her to the ritual site and meet up with PAMA and Isa!"

Going over to the equipment tab, she easily placed on her dark jumpsuit before tying her crimson hair back.

Winslow walked over to the iron double-doors. "...?"

"We have about an hour," Cassie answered, and pulled out a white pumpkin. A special helmet covered in scars and dried blood from many women. "That's more than enough time."

[Helmet: Mask of the White Pumpkin]

A helmet is made out of a hollowed-out albino pumpkin genetically modified by the means of an Old Builder. When placed over the head, it will not obscure vision as a normal pumpkin, and change the eye color to a neon yellow and deepening the voice of the wearer.

"Remember what we always say," Cassie flipped the lever next to one of the iron doors, revealing the haunting darkness, and the hunting predators within. Cassie placed the Mask of the White Pumpkin over her head, her beautiful voice drowned in static and turned deep. "No half-measures..."

She pulled out a button, placing it near one of the iron doors before pressing it to open one of the doors. Winslow followed her inside as the iron door shut behind them, never allowing the horrors inside to escape.

The moss covering the wall illuminated for a brief moment in reaction to the sounds. The revealing horrors and squirming masses of flesh and failed experimentations shuffled around in fear – not of the light, but of Cassie.

She let out a blissful sigh that sounded no different from a feral growl. She loves these moments, no society to judge her, no one to make comments, nothing to restrain her immoral impulses and bloodlust.

She rolled her head, loosening her muscles, hearing a crack from her neck. The darkness felt so comforting, smothering her like a motherly hug.

"Live and learn..." Cassie pulled formed her axe made out of the chaotic energy from Limbo. "Live..." The axe spread ominous shadows over her mask, her voice triggering the moss to glow. "And learn!"

She threw the axe in the distance, the tiny illumination it casted showed it flying down the hallway before hitting the wall... and someone ducking away from the corrosive blast.

"I love it when she runs..." Cassie whispered in pleasure, it's just like the times back in the Kingdom of the Ocean. It's not the sloppy homicide, cutting skin, or even the severed heads... but the thrill of the chase! "When she struggles – I'm going to taste every inch of her body with my tongue."

"...?!" Winslow asked his master.

"Of course I really can't, I wanted to try again." Cassie answered honestly. "But she earned her bonus when she cut off Bailey's head."

Cassie heard the distant naked footsteps hurryingly turn around corners and echoing throughout the hallways. Cassie would easily catch up to her prey if she ran, it would even be effortless to teleport to her target.

But no... before in the Kingdom of the Ocean, she would only run after screwing up; to flee, or chase her prey down before chopping them up.

In the dark, she can smell her prize running away; she put up a good fight, but Cassie would always be creative, mixed in with very personal contact.

Then the counting, always that magic number of 8. Three seconds to realize Cassie is here, and the rest trying to get far away as possible.

But now it's a controlled environment, the other slithering horrors in this dark maze would torment her prize, and Cassie knew the layout of the maze.

With an excited pace, she walked until she stood in the middle of intersecting paths. To go forward, back, the sides... they all lead to confusion and agony. At that moment some piston extended in the noisy distance, and hearing the pained screams in the dark made a wonderful guide.

Winslow ran ahead, Cassie following, and held out a torch to brighten the area. To be greeted by the sight of a panting brunette as she smiles back at Cassie like the sadist she is. Her tanned, naked skin covered in scars and bruises.

[Chai] Level 245

Class: Warrior

Title: Butcher

"You are very tough woman" Cassie complimented, admiring the homicidal girl before placing the torch down. "You are the exact opposite of the girls that I cut with my axe."

"...Screw you!" Chai spat a glob of blood at Cassie's mask, despite her condition on the floor, and the unnatural twist her foot is bending; caused by the trap she triggered.

"This is what I love!" Cassie shouted in passion, as if she is a director for a play, and Chai is the actress. "Strong! Defiant! You are the things I hope to see in a woman... but never do."

"What are you getting at...?" Chai whispered, leaning against on of the walls of the dark maze.

Cassie kneeled before her. "You see, I have a thing for girls..." Cassie cooed, whispering seductively into Chai's chewed ear before using her left hand to strangle Chai's bruised neck. "I love cutting their heads off! Teens. Elderly. Children. It didn't matter as long as they are girls!"

Chai wheezed. "You really think... that I'm afraid of dying?" She managed out a laugh at the absurdity.

"Oh I know." Cassie threw Chai back, slamming against the rough floor, allowing The Butcher to take in some much-needed air. "You see, we have more jobs for you." Cassie revealed, opening a crimson portal behind her. "But that can wait... you get your bonus before your payment."

"What... about my actual payment?" Chai demanded with her sore throat, this wouldn't be the first time someone attempted to not pay up after a job.

"It took a long time to prepare," Cassie tossed a Potion of Healing at Chai and a thin cloak, who caught it without effort. "Get up, and follow... you're going to love what you see!"

----------

Chai exited the crimson portal, walking into what appeared to be a bedroom, with shrubbery that hugged the walls and reached all the way up to the ceiling. "So what's this fucking bonus you won't shut up about-?" Chai's eyes widen when she saw a gagged Maya, crying and beaten as she is tied down the large bed she is on.

Cassie didn't seem to notice the rude girl, only looking down at Maya's terrified form. "How many times do we need to do this, until you realized that not listening to what we say would just end up hurting you?" Cassie whispered, the blood on her helmet made it her terrifying.

It was then Chai noticed the wasteful amounts of food pilling up in the corner, she remembers the recognizable smell of cooked flesh. 'They're eating people?!' Chai mentally screamed in shock.

"Reginald worked so hard to make that..." Cassie shook her head, tempted to break Maya's fingers again. "Be happy it's my turn to watch over you; PAMA really wanted to try peeling your skin off again."

"But be happy for our guest..." Maya flinched when Cassie stroked her face before gesturing grandly to the ceiling. "She is not like those other whores and idiots!"

Chai's dark brown eyes widen in surprise... and slight admiration. "How many bodies are hanging up there...?"

So many corpses hanged from hooks, chained to the ceiling. But Chai noticed they all have two things in common: they've all been decapitated... and all of them are women.

"This one-!" Cassie pointed up to tanned woman; decapitated. "Cried and didn't even bother to run!"

"And that one-!" Cassie pointed up to another woman; decapitated, along with her legs cut off. "Tried to flirt with me to save her own skin, thinking I'm a man!"

"But that one!" Cassie pointed to Chai, chaotic energy seeping out. "I finally found someone who isn't some damsel in distress, who doesn't act tough when the danger is absent, and never resorts to seduction in order to survive!"

Cassie spread out her arms, her chaos energy fanning out the shrubbery hugging the walls. It devoured at the plant-matter, revealing a grand display of various sharp instruments, whips, and clothes of a beautiful variety.

"Use them as you wish, Chai," Cassie walked to place a firm grip on Chai's shoulder, before pointing to a terrified Maya. "You earned it, your bonus; you get your own pet to exercise your wildest fantasies!"

Cassie stepped away, letting fate do the rest. "Do what I did to you, or at least try." Cassie goaded, walking backwards as she formed a portal behind her. "Hurt her... taste her... own her... but it make it memorable! This is only temporary." She encouraged before leaving one final warning. "Maya has to go somewhere later, people to see, and it would be much appreciated if you ruined her."

WHOOSH-!

The portal disappeared after Cassie went through it. Chai looked down at Maya, slowing walking over to the selection of knives and dresses. "You know..." Chai picked up a serrated blade, and a nice white dress. "I've always been a fan of your Ocelot days..."

---------

Jesse stumbled around in the darkness for an unknown amount of time. He still felt the haunting pains of recent mutilation and agony, trembling in fear as the darkness seemed to stalk him with a damning hunger.

Yet, there was a faint light in the distance. Nothing bright like gates to salvation, but it promised warmth, and he would take what he could get.

Running after the source of illumination, Jesse arrived to feel relief at feeling the faint heat emanating from it. But he stopped as he saw a woman sitting in front of the fire.

As the light from the fire created shadows over the crimson tattoos on her pale skin, Jesse instantly recognized the woman he threw a tantrum at, acting like a brat as she was on her deathbed.

A mixture of emotions clouded Jesse's mind, and wrecked throughout his frozen body.

Curiosity. Only recently he discovered the connection of her and the Clockwork Fortress, and the research of blood magic.

Anger. She lied and kept secrets, and seeing with the runes in his right eye, Jesse wanted to confront her about why his, his birth mom's, and especially his sister's, memories are stored in her pocket watch.

Fear. Would she forgive him for how he acted, for how he took her for granted and acted like a bully to his sister? Or would she reject him, just like Jesse knew he deserved- she died before she could.

"... I didn't know you were a vampire, Jesse?" She terribly joked, trying to lighten up the somber mood. The fire crackled as the woman turned her head, swaying her silver hair as she did "Is that why you don't want to sit near the fire?"

Jesse hesitated, feeling all anxiety wash away as he approached the welcoming fire. "Hi, Laurence." Jesse sat near the woman.

"Hello Jesse," His stepmother greeted with a smile warmer than the campfire, but her eyes held such sadness. "So you died too, huh."

A/N: Sorry for not updating in a long time, school has been taking up my time, and I've been reading and junk! So Jesse has died, and has to confront the woman he disrespected in life.

As for Chai, what do you think she is going to do to Maya? I've message her OC submitter, who changed her name to homewrecker04, on what would Chai do if she met Maya. She said that Chai would stumble and fangirl, but I'd like to leave up to imagination.

I messaged her, mostly because I was stuck at this part. She made it clear that Chai is crazy, but not the logical extreme like Jess. So I had to think , what is the boundaries Chai would go? Eating someone? Killing kids? Sexual assault? Where does the line get drawn so I don't have her step over it?

I have more things planned for Chai, as she is going to get an upgrade, and I already have plans for how she will go out. Even though a lot of time has passed, this is my way of showing gratitude to homewrecker04, for submitting her OC, being very supportive, sending me fan art. So thank you. :)
