~Gale POV~

The Grand Magic Games finally came around Layla, Reiki, Kai, Storm, and I are Fairy Tails team with Nova as are back up and gramps had are uniforms like are parents when they played in the games. Aura and Wendy are the team's medics, while Luna is our very faithful cheerleader. She has on a white skirt and purple top similar to Novas minus the Fairy Tail symbol. I huff as I try pulling the scarf around my neck similar to the one my dad supposedly wore years ago. I hear a giggle and feel soft hands pull at the scarf letting it sit on my neck without strangling me. 

"What even is the point of this? What happens if I get into a fight and the person grabs it and chokes me to death?" I ask turning towards the girl with cotton candy colored hair neatly pulled into a French braid. 

"I don't know maybe to hide that neck of yours. Apparently, girls swoon over guys necks nowadays." She says smiling and laughing a little 

"Well, here then I don't want it so let girls swoon." I say pulling off the white string of fabric and dropping it over her neck. "There now girls can swoon over my neck but boys can't swoon over your... umm... girl parts." I say a small blush working its way over my cheeks.

"You mean my boobs?" She asks her head moving to the side as she fixes the scarf so it sits right. 

"Yeah, those." I say turning as gramps walks into the room. 

"Alright my children! The Grand Magic Games are about to start Fairy Tail members who aren't in the games please make your way to the designated area."

 Mom, Emma, and Lia all give me a hug while dad gives me a good slap on the back.

"I'm proud of ya son. Do Fairy Tail right." He says before walking out. 

Pantherlily, Midnight and Lily each give me a good hug before flying off. Luna is the last one to leave out of everyone. She smiles at me when I turn to her. 

"Be safe alright? I have no idea what I would do if my best friend died. That means I would have to start bugging dragon slayers from other guilds." She gives me a tight hug and a kiss on the cheek before running out of the room to catch up with my family. Once everyone is gone, Gramps starts talking but I hardly pay attention to busy thinking of Luna's kiss. 

"ALRIGHT LETS DO THIS." Gramps screams raising his fist in the air. 

The other five do the same and I follow yelling in excitement my mind still else were. We run out onto the field getting ready for the preliminary round going from hundreds of guilds to eight. Some weird pumpkin dude is in the middle of the field a microphone in his hand. 

"Alright, for the preliminary round we'll be having an obstacle course!" He yells and for some reason, everyone starts cheering. 

What the hell is this? Kindergarten? 

"But with a twist! It's a magical obstacle course! Along with competing alongside another team! You'll have to beat them and get one of the top eight spots. The eight fastest teams will win!" He says and I clap along with everyone still confused out of my mind. After watching the first couple rounds I get the hang of the whole idea. Pretty much it's Luna's training with fancier machines and lots of magic. 

"Okay, Looks like we are next going against some guild from someplace." Kai says 

"Wow, you are a genius how did you figure that out?" I ask folding my arms as we start walking towards the starting line. 

"What's that suppose to mean?" He snaps 

"Shut it both of you!" Layla yells "All we have to do is beat the guild and get a higher time than lamia scale or blue pegasus and then we are in the top eight. The course goes throughout the whole city of Crocus then after that, we do the one on one battles. My mom was the first to go up for Fairy Tail when she participated I'm not saying that I'll be the first one to fight but if it's anything like the games then, then it's a possibility. Now get your heads out of your asses because we are starting." 

Just as she says this Toma walks in front of us. 

"Alright, I want a nice clean race. There is a magic line in the center of the road stay on your side, however, any magic that does not require human contact can cross the line. All onlookers are protected by magic so they will not be hurt, but still be courteous of their feelings. There are signs that show you the way to the finish line at the castle. Have fun as you know the first full team to cross the finish line wins! Also, you must have one of the top eight scores. Now let's do this!" He yells as he shoots off a gun and we start running. 

Layla's the fastest so she easily takes the lead while Storm and Kai follow behind her closely. Reiki and I run alongside each other while trying to fight the other guild. One member tried getting close enough to touch us or something and a white line materialized and through him into a wall. The rest of his guild stop to help peel him out. Giving us a head start to get to the first obstacle. W huge wall that we have to get over somehow. Layla grabs my hands and then Kai's. 

"Okay so you two are the strongest link hands and then you'll have to throw the rest of us up. Reiki you still have the dragon armor right? That way you can requip into that and Gale then you can do the whole dragon wing thing and bring Kai up alright?" Reiki nods and We do as we are told. Thirty minutes later we are all over the wall and thought the obstacle course. Toma Stands before us with a stopwatch in his hand. 

"And Fairy Tail's Obstacle course time is..."
