As the light from the screen began to fade, Revenge stood up as usual. The smoke monster cut one of the remaining red ropes holding my organs. When the red rope fell to the floor, she suddenly turned black.
"Every time you see an act of revenge you committed in the past, I'll be there to release you from these rope traps one by one," his harsh, inhuman voice trembled in the air.
''I'm so happy... so happy that we are finally reunited. I also want to thank Death for bringing you to me."
Those deep red, glittering eyes evoked a sweet sense of destructive passion. His long, human-like left hand touched the palm of my left hand. He began to trace the scar that ran the length of my palm with his monstrous fingernails.
The screen finally lit up again, ending my brief moment of discomfort. I plunged back into my past while Revenge settled into his desk.
I rested in my bed, a mix of relief and satisfaction taking hold of my soul. I had barely closed my eyes when I heard a small noise. Something was banging on my bedroom window. Intrigued, I moved to the window overlooking our neighbourhood and opened it.
It was soda can, similar to the one that had started my discussion with Joo-seo, the one I had picked up from the kitchen and tossed into his yard after the explosion.
Joo-seo appeared out of nowhere.
"What the hell are you doing here? How did you find me, dude?" I asked him.
"Maybe I followed you after you killed my adoptive parents. Are you just crazy?! What's wrong with your damn brain? Hello, girl. Killing people is not a freaking hobby... It's just a fucking crime, you crazy lady." His voice sounded somewhat relieved. A smile spread across his beautiful face. "But to be honest, I feel so... I don't know how to describe this new feeling... I think I feel freedom."
Without explanation, his smile made my ears warm. My expression suddenly changed. A laugh escaped Joo-seo's mouth. "Noooo.... no way you're blushing! Hey guuuurl, are you falling in love with the handsome man I am?"
My expression shifted to one of serious anger as I struck him in the face. He covered his face with his vainy hands and yelled silently, "Hey, I was just kidding, little freak... I know you have no feelings."
"Wait a second, bro, I'll get dressed and meet you at the front door," I told him, quickly pulling on a black hoodie. I slipped down the stairs, making my way to the door without making a sound.
When I opened the door of the house, I found his perfect silhouette standing in front of me. He held out his hand, a mischievous glint in his eye.
I hesitated for a moment. But his presence was magnetic, pulling me in despite my reservations. I took a deep breath, placed my cold hand in his, and stepped into the night... a family of butterflies roamed my stomach as I looked at his side profile.
