Chapter Two
Jin placed his hand over his chest as he exited the bathroom, where he had been moments before with Jungkook. He couldn't believe how attractive the man looked in person. Having seen Jungkook's photos displayed on countless billboard ads and magazines, he never could have imagined that he would be even more attractive in real life. Seeing him up close felt unreal to him. Now, he found it difficult to envision himself working for someone he felt an undeniable and immediate attraction towards.
"Hey Seokjin, I found you! I've been searching everywhere for you! Did you get lost? You know what? It doesn't matter. What matters is you are here now." Jimin said, greeting Jin with a smile.
"Sorry, I had to make a call and thought we were meeting here," Jin explained as he silenced an incoming call from his fiance.
"It's fine. No need to explain." Jimin assured him. "Hoseok is already in the conference room, and we're just waiting for Jungkook to join us. Once he's here, we'll introduce you to him. But, you know what? He's always late! You'll need to be mindful of that while working with him. You might have to go to his house and literally drag him out of bed to get him to be on time, you know?"
"I would prefer it if he joined me in bed rather than pulling me out of it." Jungkook startled Jin as he suddenly appeared behind him.
As Jin became aware of their physical proximity, he felt a flutter in his chest and a lump forming in his throat. With a deep intake of breath, he mustered the strength to take a deliberate step toward Jimin.
Jin could hear the distinct sound of Jungkook's chuckle. However, despite his curiosity, he refrained from turning his head to catch a glimpse of him. He observed that Jimin was shaking his head as he stared at Jungkook.
"Seokjin, why don't you head down the hall to the conference room on your left? Jungkook and I will be meeting you there in a little while." Jimin said as he addressed Jin with a warm smile.
Jin responded with a nod, agreeing by saying, "Sure," before walking away.
As soon as he was out of view, Jimin swiftly made his way towards Jungkook, calling out to him with a respectful tone, "Mr. Jeon-"
"It's Jungkook."
"Mr. Jeon, I wanted to inform you that Seokjin is the third assistant hired to assist you this month. He possesses remarkable qualifications and skills, making him exceptionally well-suited for the task at hand.
As a result, I hope you will be satisfied with his support. If you encounter any concerns or problems with him, please bring them directly to my attention. It is important to note that he will be under my guidance, learning and working closely with me. So-"
"If he already possesses good qualifications and skills, what specific skills or knowledge would he benefit from learning from you?" Jungkook, unable to contain his curiosity, interrupted Jimin mid-sentence.
Jimin let out a deep sigh, expressing his frustration with the situation of having to have the conversation he was having with Jungkook. "because it's the way Mr. Jung hired him. Therefore-"
Jungkook immediately cut Jimin off by saying, "Therefore, you do not have any authority to make decisions about Seokjin's employment with the company. This also implies that you cannot tell me any of this nonsense.
I have the authority to terminate employees who are not fulfilling their job responsibilities as expected. The assistant you recently hired took my used underwear without my consent. Did you honestly believe I would patiently await your response and action?"
As Jimin said nothing, Jungkook moved closer, his gaze fixed upon him, and confidently stated, "Just remember, this company relies on me. I don't gotta be here. And if your service isn't up to my liking, I'll fire you as well, so don't come here and dictate what I should or shouldn't do. Furthermore, my assistant does not require any training or supervision from you. I will be the one to make decisions when it comes to him."
Before Jimin could utter a single word, Jungkook had disappeared.
"If I had the opportunity, I would definitely consider strangling him," Jimin exclaimed, his feet stomping in frustration at how Jungkook had spoken to him.

"Mr. Jung, how are you?" Jin greeted Hoseok politely upon entering the conference room where he was.
Hoseok, wearing a bright smile, stood up from his seat and approached Jin, embracing him warmly. "How are you, handsome? I'm so happy that you're here. I was concerned that I may have made you uncomfortable during the interview and that you wouldn't show up today."
Jin returned Hoseok's hug with a smile on his face. "I am happy to be here, and I want to assure you that if I had not been able to make it today, I would have been honest about it."
"Great, I'm pleased to hear that." Hoseok exclaimed, pulling back and gazing at Jin, "You're incredibly handsome. During the interview, I had to refrain from gushing about it, but I couldn't stop thinking about how handsome you were. I even told my husband that I believe I've hired the most handsome individual imaginable. Why aren't you a model? I'm asking this question seriously."
Jin blushed and smiled, saying, "Thank you for the compliment. Your words mean a lot to me, especially since they come from you. You are someone I admire. Your works are unparalleled, surpassing anything I have ever laid eyes upon. I was thrilled when I found out you had started working here."
"Stop! You are only making me love you more than I already do. Anyway, before I forget, I want to let you know that the person you will be working closely with is-"
"Me. He already knows. We met." Jungkook strolled into the room, his eyes lighting up as they met Jin's. A playful smile danced upon his lips, sending a subtle hint of mischief through the air.
Jin quickly averted his gaze, determined not to succumb to the captivating charm of Jungkook.
Hoseok glanced at Jungkook before shifting his gaze to Jin. He glanced back at Jungkook, noticing that Jungkook was looking at Jin. This sight made him sigh. Just as he was about to speak, Jimin walked into the room. He noticed that Jimin appeared annoyed and immediately inferred that he had a negative interaction with Jungkook.
"Alright, everyone, please take your seats so we can begin our discussion on today's agenda. Jungkook has a photo shoot scheduled for later this afternoon, so we need to go through the agenda quickly."
As everyone took a seat, a person unknown to Jin entered the room and placed a bag in front of him before disappearing from their sight.
"Jungkook, as you know, your recent assistant was terminated. Considering you made the decision, I don't need to discuss the reason for their termination. To ensure that you would not be without an assistant, we took prompt action and hired Kim Seokjin.
Seokjin is highly skilled and qualified. He is not just an assistant but also a stylist. Therefore, he will be working with Jimin to assist in selecting the most suitable style options for you. I hope you find his work fulfilling and that you can establish a positive connection with him. Seokjin, it is important to note that Jeon Jungkook is one of our most valuable clients, and we must deliver the highest quality service to him.
In contrast to many of our models, Jungkook actively participates in all of his projects and prefers to stay informed before any decision is made. I strongly encourage you to always maintain consistent and effective communication with him. If you are unsure or uncertain about anything, feel free to contact Jimin.
My assistant has just given you a bag containing your laptop, company phone, card, and a guide for your first month. Jungkook's schedule has already been preloaded. I recommend checking the schedule frequently, as it may be subject to change according to Jungkook's preference. He frequently travels abroad-"
"Travel abroad?" Jin interrupted and asked, expressing surprise.
"Oh, yes. Did we forget to mention that earlier?" Hoseok asked, attempting to recall their previous conversation during the interview.
Jin nodded and said, "I wasn't aware that travel would be necessary."
"I am a famous model who is wanted all over the world. How can one not consider traveling a necessary part of this profession?" Jungkook turned his gaze toward Jin as he spoke.
"Jungkook, we made a mistake by not discussing this with Seokjin. Seokjin, are there any potential challenges or obstacles that you foresee regarding your ability to travel?" Hoseok inquired, expressing his preference for not allowing Jungkook to take charge of the conversation.
Jin pondered the travel requirements of the job, gazing at his fingers. "Could you please provide an estimate of how frequently traveling would be necessary?" he inquired.
"Jimin, do you have Jungkook's schedule handy?" Hoseok asked, looking at Jimin.
Jungkook arched an eyebrow as he gazed at Jin and asked, "What's the issue? Your roommate is against you traveling?"
Jin glanced at Jungkook with a puzzled expression and responded, "I don't have a roommate. I live with my fian-"
"I didn't ask."
"Jungkook will be traveling to the Maldives for a one-week photoshoot next week. Then, he'll have to be in New York City for Vogue's fashion week the following week. And then, one week after his return, he is slated to travel to Milan. That's all I have for this month, but come next month, I know he's got gigs lined up in London and Japan." Jimin said as he scrolled through his phone.
Jin was taken aback by the extensive traveling that Jungkook would be doing in just a few weeks. He was aware that models traveled, but he was not aware of the extent of their traveling.
"Thank you, Jimin. Seokjin, what do you think? Would that be too much for you?"
"I don't know. I think it should be okay. I would prefer not to bring my personal life into this, but I feel it is important to have a conversation with my fiance before I can confidently give the okay. He travels frequently for work, so I don't anticipate it being a problem."
"Why is his permission necessary? You can't make decisions for yourself without your roommate's involvement?" Jungkook interrupted Jin and asked.
"Jungkook-"
"I don't necessarily require his permission. Communication is important in my relationship with my fiancé, so it's simply my preferred approach to handling things." Jin responded while gazing at Jungkook.
"Okay, Seokjin, why don't you let us know tomorrow-"
"Call your roommate now and get his thoughts because if you can't travel, I don't want you wasting my or anyone's time. If necessary, we can find someone else who is reliable and does not require parental consent."
"Jungkook, please stop!" Hoseok glared at Jungkook.
"Stop what? I prefer not to have my time wasted by anyone. If he needs permission to travel, I need it confirmed immediately if he can or cannot!"
"Jung-"
"I will call him," Jin said quietly, hoping to avoid an uproar. He stood up from his seat and walked towards the other end of the conference room while dialing Chung Jae's number.
Jungkook kept his eyes fixed on Jin, meticulously studying his mannerisms while he talked on the phone.
"Hey, listen, I'm at work...I know... well... I know." Jin anxiously gnawed on his lip while he listened to Chung Jae's voice on the other end of the phone. He averted his gaze upon catching sight of Jungkook's stare.
"Can we talk about that later? I just called because I know you are traveling tomorrow, and I wanted to know how long you will be away......Oh, that's a long trip... No worries, though, I think I'll also be spending a week in New York, so I suppose we'll cross paths there... Yes, traveling is a must...I don't know...I'll discuss it with you later; I'm currently in a meeting and just wanted to let you know that a portion of my job will involve traveling.....l.....that's not true....Chung Jae, let's talk later. Love you." Jin said, and then he ended the call.
Even though Jimin and Hoseok had attempted to occupy themselves, upon hearing the name Chung Jae, they glanced up and turned their attention toward Jin. "Is your fiancé Chung Jae, as in Lee Chung Jae?"
Jin smiled as he returned to his seat, "yeah, that's him."
"Wow, I heard he was engaged earlier last year, but I never laid eyes on his fiancé. You are definitely someone I imagined him being with." Hoseok exclaimed, his voice filled with astonishment. "Hey Jimin, didn't you used to date him?"
Jimin's eyes grew wide, "T-that was a long time ago. Seokjin, please don't misunderstand Hoseok's words; that was during my college years. I haven't laid eyes on him since that time."
Jin let out a chuckle, "It's all good. I don't get all riled up about things like that."
"You don't love him."
All eyes shifted towards Jungkook, the one who had spoken. "What?" Jin was perplexed by Jungkook's statement.
"You told him you love him, but you don't."
"Not to be rude, but you don't know me or my relationship-"
"I don't need to, but that's okay because at least I know this is a temporary placeholder." Jungkook couldn't resist the temptation as he leaned in closer, gently sliding the ring off Jin's finger with a mischievous smile. "Well, well, well, would you look at that? Not a single ring mark. Do you wear it often?"
"Please give me back my ring."
Jungkook rose to his feet, slyly tucking the ring away in his pocket, a mischievous glimmer in his eyes. "I must admit, I don't like seeing you in it. It's just too distracting," he confessed before exiting the room.
"Jungkook!" Hoseok raised his voice and yelled. "I am so sorry about that. He is not usually like this. I will talk to him."
"What do you mean? That's exactly how he usually behaves. I warned you this would happen." Jimin said, not surprised by Jungkook's action. He knew Jungkook possessed a stubborn determination and persistent pursuit whenever he desired something.
