Chapter Twenty Nine - One.
Alec didn't have to wait too long for Magnus to arrive. After he'd sent the text the warlock arrived on the doorstep minutes later. Alec who had been stood beside the front door didn't wait for Magnus to knock; the moment he had heard Magnus's footsteps outside he wrenched open the door. His heart skipped a beat as he stood back to let Magnus into the Institute, a wide grin was on the warlock's face. Alec led Magnus to his favourite place in the Institute, the library, Maryse had already left through a Portal, heading for Idris. She hadn't cared enough to check on him before she'd left, she hadn't even said goodbye. Alec tried to hide the hurt as he glanced at the noteless desk.
He twisted the bottle of tablets over in his right hand, he just hoped he wouldn't need it as he and Magnus spoke. He gestured for Magnus to take a seat and he sat beside him on one of the leather sofas. Alec inhaled deeply trying to calm himself down, running his left hand through his hair. 'Okay, Alec. Calm down. It's okay.' He thought, twisting the bottle in his hand again. Magnus's eyes were watching his every action, Alec hoped he couldn't see the bottle in his hand, although if Magnus could see it he didn't mention it. He just sat there waiting for Alec to calm down enough to be able to speak. Alec sighed, "Did it really mean nothing to you?" He blurted out suddenly, calm enough to start talking.
"Yes," Magnus replied, "I told you before. It didn't mean anything to me."
"Then why did you do it?" Alec asked, his voice sounded like he was going to cry. He cleared his throat as Magnus sighed. "I hadn't meant to do it. It wasn't even my intention to kiss him. He'd slipped something into my drink, I couldn't tell the difference until later. Everything had seemed really bright and I felt lightheaded and I couldn't make sense of anything." Magnus said, tears were shining in his eyes.
Alec frowned, "But why would he do that?"
"I don't know Alexander," Magnus sighed, "by the time I'd figured it out and was going to question it he was long gone. I was scared."
"Of what?" Alec questioned, tears were making his eyes sting; he hated seeing Magnus so close to tears.
"That you would see. That you had seen. I knew if you'd seen that you'd leave me. I didn't want that. I love you too much to want to lose you." Magnus smiled, tears dripping down on his cheeks, mixing with the glitter around his eyes. "You're the only one I've ever wanted to be with."
Magnus stared over at Alec as he sat in silence, twisting something over and over in his hands. 'Please believe me, Alexander.' He begged as his eyes roved over the boy in front of him. He was skinny, skinnier than Magnus had ever seen him before. His nails were bitten and chapped, blood coated the underside of his nails as they bled from being bitten to the wick. He was paler than Magnus had ever seen him too and Magnus found himself wondering when the last time Alec had eaten properly had been. All he wanted to do was look after the dark-haired Nephilim in front of him, to love and hold him and never ever let go. Alec twisted the thing in his hand again and this time Magnus caught sight of what it was, a bottle of tablets. His eyes widened slightly but he didn't say anything, watching as Alec ran his left hand through his hair again and again as he contemplated what Magnus had said.
On the third time of running his hand through his hair, Magnus caught hold of his hand and held it. Alec glanced up at him in shock and smiled, a small smile, but it still made Magnus's heart thud painfully. "I just want you believe me even if you never want me back, if you never want to see me again." Magnus said, this time it was Alec's cheeks that were soaked with tears as he sobbed. Magnus squeezed Alec's hand in reassurance. "I d-do believe you." Alec whispered as his sobs finally faded although the tears kept falling, "Why did you leave for London in the first place?"
"I'd hurt you too badly and in thought that your life would better if I wasn't around." Magnus answered truthfully with a sad smile.
"You make my life better. You know that right? Without you I'm nothing. I'm back at square one, the young boy too scared of his parents to tell them the truth about himself." Alec said with a smile, "I'm still nothing. I'm still trivial." He sighed and stared at Magnus as the warlock shook his head. "You're not trivial, Alec." Magnus said, "Least of all to me."
Alec smiled, a blush colouring his cheeks, "But that's my point. Without you I'm still the same boy I was. I'm still trivial to everyone. Everyone but you." He leant forward, his blue eyes shining brightly.
Magnus grinned, "Does this mean you've forgiven me?" Alec nodded and Magnus's grin widened.
"There's just one thing." Magnus said, "Do you want me back or not?" Alec's eyes narrowed as he seemed to think about it, before one of his dark eyebrows raised, "What do you think?" He asked, his eyes steadily staring at Magnus.
Magnus smiled, "I'd like to think we could get back together. That we could get past all of this. But it's your choice. But I want you to know, even if you don't want me back... I want you to know... I love you." Alec grinned once and he glanced down at his hand that was still clasped in Magnus's hand. He smiled, glancing up at Magnus's face he said, "Come with me."
"Where are we going?" Magnus asked, letting Alec pull him to his feet.
"On an adventure."

A/N:
I've never grinned so much while writing before. (Haha, I think I looked like I was high. I got really strange looks from my cousins!) XD
Any thoughts on what Alec will say? Or even where he's taking Magnus? I'd love to hear your opinions.
The next chapter will be up shortly - Chapter Thirty!! (Yay!!) there's only a few chapters left however. (No!) I wish it didn't have to end. :)
