Chapter 78: That kiss will always belong to you.
(Ravine POV)
"I'm really sorry for the mess I created, Sir Ravine. I didn't mean to." Selene said.
"It's okay. Just forget about it. Why don't you join me for tea at the living room?" I said to her before bringing the tray of tea all the way to the living room and putting it down on the mini coffee table. I took a cup and sat down on the sofa before Selene did the same thing too.
"I don't know what to do right now." I told Selene.
"What do you mean?" Selene asked.
"I don't know what to do about this love triangle I am in right now." I said.
"I see. If you wouldn't mind me asking, who will you choose between the two of them?" Selene asked.
"That's a no-brainer question. Of course it has to be Sash and it has always been Sash." I confessed.
"I knew it." Selene smiled.
"Sash stole my heart the minute I saw him and my feelings for him are still the same. However, I don't want to lose Craig too. I love him as a best friend, not as a lover anymore. My feelings for him have long gone but I fear that he may not be able to understand my point of view. I am afraid that no matter how many times I try to tell him that it's Sash who I really love, I feel like he would still pursue me being the stubborn mule that he is, you know?" I explained.
"Well, if you want my advice, I suggest you just give it to him right away. If Craig asks you out again, tell him that you are still in love with Sir Sash." Selene suggested.
"You think so?" I asked.
"Of course. Being the most loyal house helper of all time, I wouldn't dare give you a bad advice, Sir Vinny." Selene said before sipping her tea.
All of a sudden, I heard the doorbell ring. Assuming it was Craig, Selene quickly encouraged me to do my thing and not hold anything back anymore. I put my tea cup down before rushing to open the door and lo and behold, my guess is right. It is Craig Weber.
"Hey, do you want to go out for Frozen Yogurt or something?" He asked.
"Craig, I have to talk to you for a while if that's okay?" I said.
"Sure thing." He said.
"Why don't we sit on the steps of the front porch and converse for a while?" I suggested to which he agreed. Once we have sat down and stayed there, we let the wind blow our faces and we basked in the beauty of the afternoon warmth.
There was a dead air between us for a little while and we let it go on for a few minutes.
"By the way, I am sorry for not being able to attend Sylvia's funeral. I know I should have been there but it got a little hectic at school." Craig apologized.
"No, it's okay. She'd understand for sure. Anyway, what I have been trying to tell you is I think it's best if you stop all this courting already because it's futile if you ask me." I said to Craig, cutting right to the chase.
"Why is that?" Craig asked.
"I'm still in love with Sash and I have always been." I admitted.
"Alright. Thanks for being honest. In a way, I kind of expected it because I knew then and there that he was a better boyfriend to you than how I have been. To be quite frank, it stings a bit but I'll be okay knowing that Sash will forever love you. I just know he will." Craig said.
I leaned over to Craig and gave him a friendly kiss on the cheek.
"What is that for?" He asked.
"For growing as a person and for being my best friend since the very beginning, that kiss will always belong to you." I said to him.
"But if he ever hurts you, he'll answer to me, understand?" He asked.
"Of course." I smiled.
"Now, as your best friend, would you mind if I treat you to a frozen yogurt?" He asked.
"Sure, why not?" I laughed before we made our way to his car so he can drive me to a nearby yogurt shop.
That went well. I wasn't expecting that at all but what even surprised me is how he matured as a person from who he was a decade ago. I am so proud of Craig and he will always have a special place in my heart.
