Chapter 71: The Oscar goes to...

Sash getting ready for the Oscars^

(Ravine POV)

"And the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay goes to..."

I closed my eyes and crossed my fingers hoping that they would call my name up there. My kids are also on the edge of their seats.

"Sir Ravine Rochester for The Forgotten Fairy!" They announced and I couldn't be more proud. I stood up and hugged both my children before rushing upstage to receive the golden statuette. I was shaking the entire time. I am on a high right now. It's so surreal.

I was given the statuette and I prepared to deliver my speech.

"Thank you to the members of the Academy for this huge honor. Thank you for seeing and recognizing the power behind the story of an ordinary gay like me. One can really make a difference sometimes. I'd like to thank my two kids who are here with me tonight, Roman and Alliah Rochester. I'd like to thank Sister Charity, my mentor and my inspiring professor in Growling Tigers University. I'd like to thank my dad, Roy Rochester for his endless and never-ending support, my teenage stepbrother, Milo Rochester for being my best buddy of all time, my departed and beloved stepmother, Sylvia Rochester for being the best mother figure to me. Also, I'd like to thank every single one of the cast and crew who poured their hearts out for this film. Thank you for your contribution and valiant effort to make this film as stunning as it can be. To the director of this film, Greta Gerwig, thank you for our collaboration together and for the friendship that we've built throughout the making of this film and thank you for making my characters come to life. Ladies and Gentleman, I truly thank you and I hope you all have a grand night." I said before being applauded by the audience. I was then escorted to the backstage where the press room is for me to answer some journalists' Q & A.

(3RD person POV)

In the latter part of the ceremony wherein the Best Leading Actor and Best Director categories are yet to be announced, Ravine Rochester is already feeling anxious to see Sash win but what he doesn't know is that there is still a plot twist that's coming for him, which is about to make his night even crazier.

When the presenters started announcing the nominees' names for Best director and Ravine heard the name of a familiar someone he definitely wasn't expecting to be present at the ceremony tonight, his eyes widened followed by a gasp.

"Craig Weber for The Khanum"

"What the-? Did they just say Craig Weber?" Ravine thought to himself.

Then it clicked to him. The last conversation that he had with Craig was at the restaurant and that's when Ravine pushed Craig to pursue his passion for film, to which the latter obviously did.

"And the Oscar goes to...Craig Weber for The Khanum!" The presenter announced followed by a rapturous applause from the audience. Ravine looked at his ex-boyfriend retrieving his Oscar statuette in front of so many people and a part of him is delighted to see him win but a part of him is also scared about what's going to happen because he knows deep down that if Sash and Craig will meet, tension will definitely flare up especially if both Sash and Craig are still harboring feelings for Ravine.

"Thank you to the Academy for this honor. I would like to take this time to honor my fellow nominees who I greatly admire. I would like to thank a special someone who encouraged me to pursue my love for film and that is my former boyfriend, Ravine Rochester." Craig said and Ravine was flabbergasted to the extreme. The audience began cheering for both of them to which Ravine just smiled at nervously.

"We have a lot to talk about tonight, don't we?" Craig said before winking and ending his speech. Little did Ravine know that Sash Mikey Spencer is now giving Craig a death glare for flirting with Ravine in public but wait there's more to come. The show's not yet over and the plot is about to thicken.

Fast forward to the Best Leading Actor category where Jessica Chastain is now announcing the names of the nominees.

"Sash Mikey Spencer for 'Je m'appelle François'."

Ravine is now sweating to see the result.

"The Oscar goes to...Sash Mikey Spencer!" She announced and Ravine clapped with joy and disbelief at the same time.

"What a show and what a plot twist that is." He thought.

Sash Mikey Spencer was given a standing ovation and he waited for the audience to settle down before delivering his speech.

"Thank you to the Academy, of course! To my partner-in-crime, Fides Montenegro, thank you for being my best friend for a decade. You're the best leading lady I could ever ask for. To my director, Lauren Hadaway, thank you for taking a chance on me. To my co-workers and the cast and crew, thank you for the incredible journey that we've went through. I enjoyed every minute of it and to the love of my life who's coincidentally here with us tonight, Ravine Rochester! Unfortunately, we're not together anymore but I will forever cherish our memories and our romantic activities together. I can't wait to catch up with you later at the after party." Sash said before walking away with his trophy.

And now it was Craig who's giving Sash the death glare for being romantically involved with his true love, Ravine.

"What kind of mess did I get into tonight?" Ravine whispered to himself.

Now, that is definitely a night to remember.
