Chapter 65: I need someone to talk to.
(Ravine POV)
Sash knew I was quite disappointed about the dinner thing the other night so he said that he will make it up to me. He placed a reservation in a fancy posh restaurant down the Reykjavík Rainbow street. He told me to go ahead and he'll soon follow, which is something I highly doubt but whatever. I can't complain because this is the nature of his job. This is part of becoming an actor. Of all the people, I should understand, of course.
Anyway, I was at the table already and since he told me to order anything and that it'll be his treat, I ordered the restaurant's specialty called Oyster Rockefeller. I haven't had it yet but I keep hearing rave reviews about it so it must be good.
It didn't take long before the food finally arrived and Sash is not here yet. More for me though. Haha
"Hey!" A handsome guy greeted me.
"Can I help you, sir?" I asked.
"Do you mind if I sit with you?" He asked.
"I'm waiting for someone actually."
"Well, maybe I could keep you company while waiting for him." He insisted.
"Alright then." I said as I assumed Sash won't be able to make it anyway.
"So what brought you here in Iceland?" He asked.
"My boyfriend is filming something in this country so I just decided to go with him for a while and make the most out of our time together before his schedule gets busy." I answered him before slurping an oyster.
"Seems like his schedule already is." The man said.
"I'm Ravine by the way." I said before lending my hand out for a shake.
"I'm Dylan." He said before taking my hand and shaking it.
Dylan summoned the waiter for some wine and we added a bunch of main courses too. Since Sash is going to ditch me anyway, I might as well enjoy the food here with this stranger. Hopefully, the money I brought is enough to pay for all these food.
"No worries, if your actor boyfriend doesn't arrive, this will be my treat." Dylan said which made me laugh.
A few hours have passed and still no Sash so I completely gave up on the idea that he's coming. Dylan and I are busy conversing our time away and we had such a great rapport already when all of a sudden, someone faked a cough in front of us.
"Ahem. What's going on here?" A pissed off Sash said.
"Oh my God! It's about time." I joked.
"Is he your boyfriend?" Dylan said.
"Yes, he is." I replied.
Dylan stood in front of Sash and tried explaining the situation to him.
"Hey, you don't have to get pissed off, man. I just kept him company and I told Ravine over here that if you ditch him, I'll pay for all the food but since you're here now, this will be your bill to pay since you were the one who told him to order anything." Dylan giggled.
"I'm paying for his, not yours." Sash said to Dylan, not removing the glare on his face.
"Is that so? Alright then!" Dylan said before taking his wallet out to contribute something on his part.
"There we go! I'll be going now. Ravine, it really is a pleasure to meet you. It's just a shame you're taken." Dylan winked before leaving the restaurant.
I looked over at Sash who's wearing a furious look on his handsome face.
"Aren't you going to eat?" I asked.
Later...
"WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT, VINNY?" Sash screamed.
"Shhh! Your voice, for God's sake." I said to him.
"I don't give a crap. You're cheating on me now, is that it?" He asked.
"Wow! The irony of it all, Sash! You're the one who made me wait for so long in the restaurant and you still have the freaking audacity to talk to me like that." I lashed out.
"Yes, I made you wait but that doesn't mean you have to flirt with somebody else though."
"Flirting and befriending are two entirely different things, you know?" I said.
"Befriending really? You call winking at someone's boyfriend a friendly gesture?" Sash asked.
"You're the one who's taking so long doing God knows what." I retorted.
"Ravine! It's called working! You have no right to call me out on something that I am not even doing!" Sash said.
"You have no right to call me out on something that I am not even doing too. I assumed that you'll ditch me again for dinner so what happened is I let this nice guy sit at my table and we ordered food and had a nice laugh, that's all. Is it bad to befriend someone in Iceland, huh? I need someone to talk to too, you know." I said.
"SHUT UP!" Sash screamed. "You were the one who said you won't mind accompanying me here so where the hell is this unreasonable behavior coming from?"
Suddenly, I heard a knock. I looked through the peephole to see Ms. Genevie, a longtime occupant in this apartment building, looking worried outside. I opened the door to ask her what she needs.
"I know both of you are having some kind of misunderstanding but can you keep it down a bit?" She said.
"I apologize." I said before closing the door.
I turned around and stared at Sash, who's standing over there and looking at me in frustration. Geez! It has never been this bad before. Maybe shit does happen every once in a while. Maybe his paranoia is the result of overworking too much.
I sighed before finally going to the spare room just for me to give us space for a while.
