Chapter 42: Voila, Tequila

(Ravine POV)

Sash pulled over in front of the bar called "Voila Tequila". As soon as he parked the car, we both quickly got out and slammed the door close in excitement. Sash clicked the keys to lock it before finally making our way towards the entrance of the fancy bar.

"Good evening, sirs! Do you have a reservation?" The waiter said after opening the door for the both of us.

"Yes, I have a reservation under the name of Sash Spencer." Sash replied.

"Right this way, please." He said before escorting us to the seats with the beautiful view outside.

"Thank you." I said to the courteous waiter. Sash pulled the chair for me before going to the opposite side of the table.

"You didn't need to do that. I'm not a girl." I said.

"Well, you're the girl in the relationship." He joked.

"Hell you, Sash." I rolled my eyes which made Sash laugh maniacally. After a few seconds, a waitress approached us and gave us the menus of the bar.

"Good evening, I am Evette and I will be your waitress for tonight. These are the menus. I'll leave you two to decide for a while and then you can just give me a holler if you need anything." She said.

"Thank you." Sash and I said.

"Sash, can I ask you something?" I said.

"Of course!"

"Is it really typical for Filipino people to speak English in restaurants?" I asked innocently.

"It is especially in gourmet restaurants. Filipinos are actually known for being strict when it comes to using proper English and using grammatically correct sentences when you're communicating with other people." Sash said.

"Wow!" I exclaimed.

"Anyway, you see anything you'd like yet?" He asked.

"I think I'll have the Screwdriver and chicken tikka masala." I said.

"Good choice." He winked.

"What about you? What are you having?" I asked.

"I'll have the strawberry margarita and Peri-Peri chicken." He replied.

"That sounds yummy." I said. Sash raised his hand politely to summon Evette. After a few seconds, she finally came over to us and listed our orders.

"Alright, so one screwdriver, one strawberry margarita, one chicken tikka masala and one Peri-Peri chicken. That'll be fifteen to twenty minutes waiting time. If you want anything else, don't hesitate to call me again. Thank you, ma'am. Thank you, sir." She said.

"Wait, did she just call me ma'am?" I asked in annoyance.

"Hey! Calm down, take it as a compliment, geez! The reason why she called you ma'am is because you legitimately look like a girl. You have soft and feminine features. Even your voice is so soft, I bet some people have mistaken you for a girl too. It's an honest mistake. Do not take it to heart." Sash said.

"Fine!" I said before pouting.

"It's your androgyny that's confusing people." Sash joked.

After a few minutes, our orders arrived earlier than we expected.

"Here you go, ma'am! One screwdriver and one chicken tikka masala and for you, sir, one strawberry margarita and one Peri-Peri chicken. Orders complete?" She said.

"Yes."

"Please enjoy your dinner." She said before walking away.

I took a spoonful of chicken tikka masala and put it in my mouth. My goodness, this is so good.

"How was it?" Sash asked.

"It's delicious. This is a close second to Sylvia's." I commented.

"Who's Sylvia?"

"My stepmother, she makes the most delicious chicken tikka masala that cannot be outmatched by any Indian restaurant out there." I said.

"Wow! If it's that good, I would love to come visit your family sometimes just to try that dish of hers." Sash smiled.

"You should so I can introduce you to them. How's yours by the way?" I said.

"It's delicious. The chicken is so smoky and savory. It pairs well with the dirty rice right here. Do you want to try?" Sash offered.

"Sure!" I said before being fed by Sash.

"Verdict?" Sash asked.

"It's delicious, it almost tastes like Texas Barbecue chicken because of how smoky it is but this one is more unique and different in terms of its flavor. For sure, I prefer this one." I said.

"I know." Sash agreed.

Our first date seems fun. We had a nice chat and we had a good laugh and we enjoyed our delicious dinner. It was a great experience overall. Right when we're about to get the bill, nature started calling.

"Sash, excuse me for a moment, will you? I have to go to the bathroom." I said.

"Go ahead, I'll be right here waiting for you."

(Sash POV)

As Ravine went to the bathroom and Evette gave me the bill, I was suddenly approached by an Asian girl who offered me a drink.

"I don't usually buy guys a drink but if they're as handsome as you are, I am willing to make exceptions." She smiled.

"Oh, I'm very flattered, thank you but I am with my boyfriend right now." I said.

"Oh come on, don't play hard to get. It'll be rude to refuse a girl's offer." She replied before sitting on my lap. I suddenly stood up in disbelief and anger.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" I said. "I told you I'm taken. Now, go away!"

"You know what! Whatever! Fuck you!" She said before going to girls' restroom.

I sighed before returning to my seat. After a few moments, Ravine finally went back and he took notice of my pissed off face.

"Did something happen?" He asked.

"No, not at all." I said before covering it up with a smile.

It didn't take long before Evette returned my credit card. "Here you go, sir! Thank you so much for dining in Voila, Tequila. Have a great night, you two and please come again."

"Thank you."

"Shall we go?" I asked.

"Sure!" Ravine smiled before holding my hand so we can walk out of the bar together. We exited the bar and got inside the car.

"Thank you! That was a nice date." He smiled with his pretty eyes.

"You're welcome." I said before driving us both back to our dorm. Yes, it was a very nice date minus that Asian girl making a move on me.

It was a great night overall.
