Chapter 40: Don't be a pessimist.
(Ravine POV)
I am currently sleeping on my bed when all of a sudden, someone slammed the door so hard that it woke me up immediately. I checked to see who it is, only to see a pissed off Sash storming his way over my bed. He removed my blanket and grabbed my wrist and forced me to stand up.
"We need to talk!" He angrily said.
"What the fuck is your problem? Can't you see I am sleeping?" I shouted.
"I am the one who is supposed to be asking that question. What the fuck is your problem?" He said.
"What?" I asked.
"Why did you suddenly turn cold all of a sudden? You don't talk that much to me anymore. You kept walking away from me most of the time. You kept avoiding my glances. Why? Why did you decide to sever ties with me? Is it because of the stupid mock wedding project?" He said.
"I didn't sever ties with you. I just...I just have a problem...back home." I said as I came up with the most pathetic excuse.
"I'm not that stupid, Ravine! I know you quite well. You stutter every time you lie. Do you honestly think that I am that gullible?" He glared at me.
"I don't why you're acting like this. I am not even doing anything to you." I said.
"Tell me, is it because of the kiss?" He asked.
"No, it's just that...fuck! YES! Yes, it's because of the fucking kiss. You happy now?" I shouted so loud that the other occupants in the building probably heard it.
"Ravine, it's just for the grade. Why the hell are you letting it affect our friendship?" He asked.
"Do you want to know the real reason why I keep avoiding you all the time?" I said.
"Yes, please!"
"Because I have feelings for you already!"
The moment I said that, the color drained from Sash's face as he looked extremely shell-shocked and taken aback.
"Now, can I go back to sleep?"
He then grabbed my wrist and pulled me to his direction and planted a passionate kiss on my lips. He grabbed the back of my head and deepened the kiss even more but I was snapped back into reality when I pushed him.
"What the fuck are you doing?!" I said.
"Isn't it pretty obvious, Vinny? The feeling is absolutely mutual. I have feelings for you too." He admitted. "I never ever thought that I would be gay but who can blame me though? Every guy would turn gay because of your beauty."
"Oh shut up!" I said before sitting in the corner of the room and burying my face to my knees. Sash sat beside me and touched my arm.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"I can't trust you though." I said.
"Why not?"
"Because you men will fool around with somebody else at one point." I said.
"You're also a man though." He said sarcastically.
"I'm gay and you're bisexual, without a doubt so of course, you cannot resist the temptation to sleep with a girl in the future. I know where this is headed and before it can even hurt me, I am going to remove myself from the situation already." I said.
"Hey! Don't be such a pessimist. It doesn't suit your adorable face. Also, why the hell would you assume that I am bisexual when you don't even know my dating history?" He said.
"Lord, I thought academics is the only thing I should stress about in college. I didn't know I have to stress about another guy too." I whispered.
"If you are stressing too much about it, then we could probably take it slow then. Let's go out sometimes and maybe progress our relationship into the 'exclusively dating' phase. What do you think?" He asked.
"You don't understand! This is extremely difficult for me because I was fucking traumatized by what happened between me and my ex." I said but then, I remembered Sister Charity's word of advice.
"Reinvent yourself, live a little more and rise above!" I can hear her soft voice in my head.
"So I guess you're dumping me right now?" Sash said.
My fucking gosh! What the fucking fuck is wrong with me? Here is Sash asking me out to date and all I could think of is "Really Ravine?" Why the hell are you playing hard to get? You have always had a crush on him. You have always thought that he is the most handsome guy to ever exist and now, that the opportunity to be with a charming heartthrob is right in front of you, you are going to say no to it? How fucking stupid can you be? Get over your miserable life and say yes to him before you lose him to some random chick out there. The minute you say yes, you're going to be the envy of the entire girls' club in Growling Tigers.
However, if I commit to this, I am going to have to make sure that no one else gets his attention. I am going to have to do my part for me not to lose him. I have to look the prettiest out of all the girls. I have to spoil him. I have to give him majority of my time but my fear is losing focus on my academics. What if I get blinded by the beautiful sight and experience of this relationship? What if I lose my spunk in writing? Will I hold myself back just to be with him? Will I prioritize my consultation with Sister Charity or my romantic date with this heartthrob? This is so fucking complicated. I don't want to lose my momentum in writing.
"Ravine, I'm waiting over here." Sash said. "Will you go out with me or no?"
Fuck it! Get that man candy already.
"Yes, I would love to go out with you but please, let's just take it slow." I said.
"Of course! I wouldn't do something you would be uncomfortable with." He said before kissing me on my cheek.
I finally have him. Yay! Hopefully, this decision won't cost me anything though.
